Great experience coming in for my 2nd ear lobe piercings. The shop is clean, pricing transparent, and Kat who completed my piercing was both professional and skilled. They are cash only so come prepared. read more

I went in for a navel piercing on a Friday. She suggested a floating navel because of my anatomy, that's fine. After a couple days, it was a little sore, but I didn't think anything of it. Thought it was just the norm for a new piercing. Fast forward to Wednesday, a lot more sore and more red than it was previously. Thursday after work, I went to another piercing shop and they confirmed that it was infected. It was also mentioned that too much flesh was pierced, so there was absolutely no room for swelling. I went to Urgent Care right after for antibiotics. Anyways, I didn't even have it pierced a whole week before having to get it removed. Just wanted to add that I also got my septum pierced there weeks prior and that healed just fine. I also have several piercings, so I do know how to properly clean and take care of fresh piercings. read more

Never get your piercings here is an understatement. In November, I got three piercings: belly/navel piercing, "helix," and conch. Costing me around $100 (without tip). Cheryl pierced my belly button without informing me know that I didn't have the ring anatomy to support a belly button piercing. I thought I was healing fine until the around May/June. I started noticing more crust build up even with regularly cleaning. I also didn't wear clothing that fit the belly area super tight. I had gone to a different and apparently more well informed piercing shop (not Emerald) and they broke the news to me. I went in under the impression that my piercing needed to be downsized because the swelling had gone down but instead I was told that my body was rejecting the jewelry because I didn't have the right anatomy for it. Then my jewelry was inspected by the shop and there were signs that the jewelry was poor quality, inadequate for body jewelry. Now I have scarring on my belly, money loss, and eight months wasted. When I was getting pierced Cheryl was training a new piercer. She should not be training and should get her license reevaluated. The reason helix is in quotations is because my helix piercing was also pierced at a bad location, it was closer to a flat piercing than a helix. Both my helix and conch piercing were removed because it was infected due to jewelry quality. Spark Notes: Please please please go to a better shop to get your piercings, jewelry is about one of the most important part of a PIERCING and even that was cheap, poor, and inadequate. Do NOT come here because its cheaper, that lead to potentially permanent scarring on my belly. - CHEAP JEWELRY - POORLY TRAINED STAFF (DIDN'T INFORM ME THAT MY I DIDN'T HAVE THE RIGHT ANATOMY FOR A PIERCING AND JUST PIERCED IT ANYWAYS, MY PIERCING WAS FLOATING) Avoid this place at all costs or end up like me and have scars everywhere. Getting my money back wouldn't even begin to make me feel better about this. This is such a big hit for me because I frequently wear clothing that shows my belly (hence why I got the piercing). Now I have a big ugly scar. THANKS. read more

Visited Emerald for the first time back in July to get my nose pierced again. It was easy to do a walk in. The wait time was reasonable and the experience was great. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. Laura at the front desk was great, they kept us entertained and laughing while I waited for the talented Kat to pierce my nose. Kat is great, very knowledgeable and explained everything they were doing. My friend also got her nose piercing swapped out by Kat and that was smooth and quick process. Go see Kat! A few weeks ago I went back and took advantage of on of Elf's flash sales and got a sorcerer mickey hat... super cute! I love it! My best friend got a matching tattoo as well and hers looked great as well. I liked that Elf made ours slightly different. While waiting the gentleman at the front desk was very welcoming as well (sorry I don't recall your name) but he offered us water and fruit snacks. I'd definitely keep going back to Emerald in Lodi, I've had 2 great experiences. read more

We came in today to get our daughter's ears pierced. It was her 1st time and made sure to do a bit of research on reputable places to do it. The place didn't disappoint! Everyone was very friendly, chill, but professional. Small waiting area, but didn't have to wait long for our turn. I called them first prior to coming in and here's some info: Services needed: earlobe piercing for a minor $30-80 depending on the earrings you choose. Requirements for a minor: student ID if they're school-age, copy of birth certificate, and a valid ID for parent. (Ask for additional requirements if with a guardian) Walk-ins only and no photo/video is allowed while inside. Cash only. Cheryl who did her piercing had someone else in the room observing as she was training to be a piercer. She spoke to our daughter about the whole process and how she went do anything without telling her first. My young daughter appreciated all of that as she was treated like any other customers. I would definitely recommend their place if you need any of their services. read more

I got my nostril pierced here about a month ago... the shop is very clean, the people who work there are welcoming and definitely know what they are doing. I was in and out pretty quick and only spent $15 including the price of jewelry. Can't beat that price!! And don't be fooled and think that since it's cheap you get what you pay for.... No. I have had my nostril and septum pierced before and now I feel like I was ripped off at the places I went to before lol. Go here!! kat was so nice! everyone in the front of house was so kind too. i love my dahlias :)

Years later I went back and they had turned it around. The piercer was amazing and they were helpful.

I was thinking of getting a tattoo here but after speaking to an artist and giving them my thoughts they were extremely rude and just not paying attention to what I wanted and just put my ideas to the side. I didn't appreciate the way the artist talked to me, it was as if they were treating me like I was stupid. I was already nervous as this would have been my first tattoo, and it completely set me off. read more

Last year I got a belly piercing, I typically heal quite quickly but this piercing refused to heal. It grew a divot and my body attempted to grow onto the jewelry as the quality was such low tier. I'd like to note l also did not have the anatomy for the piercing, instead of asking they simply did a floating piercing. Overall the price is not worth the damage and scarring, please do your research, and emerald hire some better staff Update: Anatomy takes a huge role in piercings and any form of body work. Whilst it's important for the consumer to be educated. The professional's should be adamant on explaining the work which they are doing, and the possibility of infection given not having the anatomy for a modification. When i entered the shop I had asked for not only the piercing but a consultation to see if I had the proper anatomy. I was charged before anyone took a look at the piercing cite. I followed the care instructions; which weren't thorough. Other shops would refuse the service and give proper care instructions rather than simply emphasizing the importance of knowing your own anatomy. As a professional it's shameful to take money first without properly warning clients as to the drawbacks of your work. Had i been told I didn't have the proper anatomy I would not have gotten this piercing, and then suffered the scarring. Take a better look at your staff emerald. Your trainees should not be piercing people without proper communication. Now let me give a detailed review of my experience: I walked into the shop greeted by a rude desk manager, who decided that my age was good reason to be rude. I was freshly 18 and I had requested someone look at the piercing cite to ensure i had the proper anatomy, I was attempting to take all the proper steps post lots of research. I was as well informed as any person who knows how to conduct proper research can be ( i'm not talking a few google searches or chat gpt, i mean researched). As I am not a registered professional, I went to emerald to confirm whether or not I was able to receive this modification. The worker was immediately rude and told me to sign the paperwork and pay the fine and the piercer would look. He took my ID and i signed the paperwork. At no point was this a welcoming experience. But I was told this shop was kind and professional so I trusted my friends reviews( they had gotten lobe piercings). The piercer told me not to swim, and that it would get infected. And proceeded to pierce me without looking for more than 30 seconds. I was not informed I got a floating piercing. Once the mod was complete the staff proceeded to speak about me being 18 and the fact that it'd get infected as I was walking out of the store. Where i could clearly hear them speaking. As I was not aware the jewelry was bad or the piercing was not anatomically suitable I left it in for a year, and the result is below. I have had 2 very different experiences with this shop. I returned once more for lobe piercings with a friend who was getting a belly piercing. The treatment was very noticeable. My friend felt that she was treated unkindly. Whilst I was treated very well, and informed kindly about my lobe piercings, the shop proceeded to follow me on social media. If a shop is not capable of properly informing their customers, and getting jewelry that will not cause irritation. It should not be offering this service. If you have such an opposition to offering this piercing, especially to younger clientele. Do not offer the service. Place an age minimum, or require different standards. But do not continue to offer a bad service with bad jewelry. read more

Would NOT recommend to visit. Tattoo artist who came to do our quote was very very rude. We were explaining what piercings and tattoos we wanted as soon as we were speaking to someone "Richard" He walks away mid sentence & ignores us. Not an artist. We brought an idea of Roman numerals and dates and wanted me to create my own drawing a tattoo artist usually creates the art and brings it to life.. I have over 10 tattoos and have never came across a more unprofessional tattoo artist "Richard" as a first time visit here with many recommendations to this spot I would def not recommend unless the tattoo artist has patience. Highly DO NOT RECOMMEND Seems very hostile and miserable at his job. read more

Over the last couple of years I have had work done by Jen and Elf. Jen's professionalism shows off when she delivers an incredible piece. Elf provided two awesome pieces for me. One being a movie cover for Return of the Jedi and another of a landscape of Mordor with Frodo and Samwise. Finally I was able to get my first industrial piercing from Kat. She was able to make the experience calm and she was able to finish the piercing quickly and safely. Incredible work by these three! I will continue to take my deas to Emerald in Lodi! I wish I didn't even have to give one star because this was, without a doubt, the worst service I have ever experienced in my 43 years of life. From the moment I walked in, the front desk was unbelievably rude, acting as if I was inconveniencing them just by being there--just pure attitude. Unfortunately, the terrible service didn't stop at the front. The back staff was just as dismissive and unfriendly. I have no idea why I was treated this way, but it was beyond unacceptable. No effort was made to be helpful, polite, or even remotely professional. I genuinely regret ever stepping foot in this place. If you value customer service and basic human decency, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Awful. Just awful. read more

I've had a couple negative piercing experiences here in the past...but when I went in today it was amazing. Cheryl my piercer was so kind and helped me feel at ease while getting my second nostril pierced. Previously while getting my first piercing, my septum was nicked so pretty badly so I was really nervous about getting a second one. All the staff were super kind and supportive and didn't make me feel bad at all about my fears. Well I used to be a regular customer for piercings and getting them redone when I had to take them out and they closed up, but maybe I'm just getting fed up with people and their attitude. Cheryl usually just does her job but when they checked me if I can fit another forward helix, she said it would "fuck up" because I was wearing a mask and it folded my ear. She didn't specify what that meant but I told them I'd just not wear a mask and she was just like "okay, not my ear." And walked off. She just assumed I said I'd wear my mask anyways. She could've just not said anything but people always have to open their mouth when not needed. So that annoyed me. Then when it came to the piercing I told her I couldn't see the marking and she told me it's there. She offered to use the handheld mirror and I told her I still couldn't see it and asked where it was and she said it's above my hoop, but still didn't see it and I asked if she could mark it again and she just said it's there. I told her again but I don't see it, and I was just like whatever but it ended up not being where I wanted it. I wouldn't have gotten it if I knew it wasn't going to be above my hoop like she said it was when it was actually entirely above it and there's this awkward gap between my forward helixes. Still paid $25 and left. Won't be coming back to deal with people not wanting to do their job and just giving attitude. Galen is nice though so props to that. I went to another piercer and she said the forward helix was placed too high and was not even in line with my other helix. read more

Went here with 2 of my friends and we all got lobe piercings, I got a septum and they got their helix done. Easy process and so inviting and welcoming. Receptionist was so sweet even though it started getting packed. The person who pierced us, Camila was very sweet and was so patient with us. Emerald also has great prices for their piercings we all got 3 piercings each and it came out to around 60$ for everything including standard jewelry. My friend and I came to emerald at 11:17 this morning for Friday the 13th tattoos, there were only 20 slots open. We waited in the sun before moving into shade for about an hour and a half and when moved into the shade the wait became 4 hours !! keep in mind only TWO people had gone inside we had just all started get closer to get in the shade. They were not updating us with times or what was happening even when the ambulance and fire truck pulled up. all we were offered was water which was thoughtful and at hour 4 the manager started taking down numbers so we could go eat, bathroom, etc. So my friend and I came back to my apartment and have been waiting another hour , so she decided to call to see if we could get a voucher for being there since opening and waiting so long in the heat. The lady who answered the phone immediately gave attitude and didn't put herself on mute to make rude snobby remarks, then the manager who WE HAD GREAT CONVERSATIONS WITH proceeds to give attitude and took us off the list!! I don't know how things work when preparing for these kind of events and she mentioned this was her first time running Friday the 13th which I believe she was doing a great job, turned around and was so quick to be defensive and passive aggressive , when my friend was being very nice and we weren't even expecting anything but to get attitude like that... no wonder everyone I know hates going here !! nothing but HORRIBLE experiences. read more

I went into Emerald tattoo in Lodi to check out the artists back in 2021. I was not looking for your average tattoo artist and had visited over a dozen shops prior. I had looked through portfolios and landed on Elf's work. He did some amazing work that won me over. I then decided after a consultation with elf that he would be the artist to give me that sleeve I have been hankering for. Over the time period of one year I spent over thirty hours in the chair with Elf. He is a very meticulous artist who strived to give you his all while working on your piece. I might also add that he had a decently light hand while tattooing. Most of my pieces were very daunting and took two to three sessions to complete. A few of the pieces were album covers that had to be translated to work as a tattoo. I gave Elf free reign to fill in the extra space with some of his own style designs. I believe that his stylized work fit in well with the rest of the sleeve. Touch ups were free for my sleeve. But that could be because I was a repeat customer. And as all tattoos are, they will need touch ups to stay looking their best. I would have Elf do more tattoing on me in a heartbeat. It was a great experience that I will keep on my body forever. Photos are of tattoos but not all are touched up. read more

I got this small tattoo for my birthday. When I arrived the artist spent 15 minutes trying to locate his tattoo gun and proceeded to complain about how it is going to take longer for him to set up then to actually complete the tattoo. Once he finally got himself ready he tattooed me in about 10 minutes. The minute I saw it I knew something went wrong. I just wanted to get out so I tipped him $20 for my $50 tattoo (I guess you get what you pay for?) and got into the car and cried. It's supposed to be a simple "1992", my birth year.
