If you are in need of maintenance, they are very responsive to your needs. The maintenance staff is trustworthy & professional. I have teens and am comfortable if the guys come in to my unit do a repair and I am not home! The property manager in place currently has been nothing but friendly and listens to your concerns. I hope that Burke Properties keeps her on staff as I don't plan to move for at least 6 years! The pool is an awesome bonus and although I don't personally use the hot tub sauna and exercise room regularly, they are well-maintained and nice to have available should I need it. They also have a club house area that can be rented out and used by the residents. I have held a kids Halloween party in the space and it was perfect for about 25 people with a full kitchen TV and a fire place too!

The few minor issues I have ever had were taken care of either the same day, or the next day. The maintenance/managerial staff have always been polite. I do not find this place to be a dump by any means, nor do I feel I live in a sub-par place. The grounds are taken care of and the apartments are relatively quiet, neighbors pretty much keep to themselves. I cannot speak to the laundry rooms as I do my laundry at my family's house. The rent for a one-bedroom is a great price in Oak Creek, and I absolutely love walking out of my door and not dealing with hallways or neighbors above or below me. Until I can save up for a condo I have no intention on moving. 11 years and going strong at Newbury :)

I have lived at the Newbury Place Apartments for 10 years, and I absolutely love it!…read more I have never experienced the issues the pervious reviewer spoke of, and I completely disagree with the "dump" description she used. This complex is far from being a dump. Management and maintenance have always been friendly, prompt, and helpful with any issues I have had. The last thing I would describe them as are "crooks." I have never experienced ice build up on the windows, mold, or bugs in my apartment. The shoveling was not the greatest; however, since her review, they hired a new company who has been wonderful at keeping up with the snow and salting. What I love about living here are the private entrances with our own patios. It is so nice to not deal with hallways and the noise that comes with it. I love the quiet vibe of the place as well. The only two things that would make it perfect would be garages and W/D in each apartment lol, other than that, pretty good for the price you pay!

I stayed at Timber Ridge Apartments for a whopping two months. I broke my lease for many reasons…read more I'll try to be brief. This is a non smoking community, I am a smoker, in the lease it states that although it is a non smoking community what you do in your apartment is your business, So I smoked in my apartment, after every smoke I sprayed air freshner, and btw I am not a chain smoker. They kept telling me they could smell smoke coming from my apt. Which i found odd, were they constantly standing outside my door? Every visitor I had said they could not smell smoke. They said I had to smoke outside 25 ft away from the building, I couldnt even smoke on my balcony, but grills only had to be ten feet away from the building, this still makes no sense to me. My mother was my co-signer and they actually called her to complain about me, little do they know my mother and I are very close and we shared a good laugh about it. One night I went to bed at 915, my 13 year old son stayed up and was laying on the couch playing with his DS. At 1015 he came in my room and said someone was knocking on the door, I get up to see who it is and its the police, they told me they received a noise complaint. I said thats funny cuz I'm in bed and my son is laying on the couch playing a video game at a volume so low I couldnt even hear it, the officer made it a point to tell me 3 times that it was the lady downstairs who is complaining, so I have to wonder if this has happened to previous tenants. They took my info and left. A few days later I went to the office, and I told the assistant what happened. He said he'd look into it and if it concerns me he'll let me know what is going on. If it concerns me??? Ummmm.....Yeah it concerns me, the cops were at my apartment, It concerns me a lot. Its no surprise he didnt get back to me. I kept getting 5 day notices for the smoking, at this point I just wanted out of there, I was being harrassed not only by my neighbor but by the office staff. I suggested to break my lease, cut my ties with Timber Ridge, at first they werent having it. But I didnt give up. I just wanted out. So I kept smoking and finally they agreed to let me go. An office personal told my mother they would have no problem renting my apartment, cuz they are always at full capacity. So out of curiosity I looked at the tenant portal and they are still charging me rent, for two months now, I never recieved any type of correspondence about it, and I looked to see if my apartment is still available and guess what? It isnt. So somebody is obviously living there and they are still charging me rent. Rent which I refuse to pay. Beware!!!! They may be nice to you to get you to rent there but they are absolutely shady people, bad customer service all around, They are thieves. They are double dipping. Think twice and then think again before renting at Timber Ridge,

A Nightmare You Can Avoid... I lived at the Gables for just…read moreover 2.5 years, and while things started off great, they took a nosedive after about a year. Since December, I've had nothing but trouble: sewer backups, a smoking AC/heating unit, and a leaky AC. The new manager, Tara, is all about deflecting problems and passing them up the chain, where they just get ignored. If you're eyeing a one-bedroom in the 285 building, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. You don't want to deal with the mess of sewer backups that have flooded my apartment from the neighbors' waste. It happened to me 2 times--twice when I was home and twice after I caught it before it got worse. After the second incident, I asked for a small rent discount, but it took six months of dealing with these issues before they finally offered a Visa gift card as a lame apology. The whole process was poorly handled. They brought in a plumber who, during a visit, suggested my neighbor might be flushing adult wipes and even discussed trying to evict her in front of me. Totally unprofessional. Tara tried to deny the third incident and complained about the costs of hiring professionals. If you're hiring experts, shouldn't they actually fix the problem? I don't want to hear about how much money it's costing you. Managing an apartment complex means dealing with these issues, whether you handle them yourself or hire someone to fix them. Complaining about costs is just an amateur excuse. It's clear that they didn't want to move me to a new two-bedroom unit because it would've cost them more, and that's the real reason they didn't address the problem properly. On top of everything, garbage pickup is a nightmare, especially in winter. With snow piling up, you're left squeezing your garbage cans to the curb, which takes up more road space. On windy days, trash ends up blowing everywhere making it a dump, and tenants don't always clean up after their dogs. Parking is another issue--nobody follows the no-parking rules on the road. They've also started charging for water, claiming it's a common practice elsewhere, which isn't true. Plus, the workout room equipment is frequently broken, and these "luxury" units are far from luxurious. If you want to live somewhere that actually lives up to its promises and has a management team that knows what they're doing, do yourself a favor and avoid the Gables and check out Coast at Lakeshore.

Tanglewood was one of the few places available and honestly has been one of the worst places I have lived in yet. From having ants everywhere throughout my apartment or in the hallways to the lack of security in each building with some break ins. I will say management is always available and always responds in a timely matter, however, have no remorse for their tenants. I had my heat go out for almost 2 months in the winter and they were more then willing to give me a heater which caused my electric bill to sky rocket. Yet, it was my fault the heat had broken. While trying to fix my heat, I would get a new maintenance worker each week, who "thinks" they fixed it each time. This went on for 2 months until it was finally fixed while I was stuck with almost two $200 electric bills Website was also down for a period of time and my autopay was no longer working, this is when I found out a late fee is $100. I reached out to management saying their site was down, however, they mentioned i need to be held accountable for paying it on time. While I agree with this, I was unable to pay for it due to their site being down. I would strongly not recommend living here, they will keep raising rent and be stuck paying almost $1000 a month for a 1 bedroom apartment that is nothing above average. Seek elsewhere.

Being a clean, (not perfec but clean) person...I've never had any bugs in the house. I've had complete ant infestations 3 times! The only thing the office did was send maintenance personnel with three tiny ant traps. When you're dealing with thousands of ants, this gesture is laughable. After two weeks of those not making a difference, they sent more...oh joy! After a good FOUR WEEKS of my apartment being taken over by ants, they sent an exterminator. Thank God!! The walls are paper thin! I moved in here with an infant and was horrified that every time someone came in either door of the building it would wake her and she'd begin crying-which probably wasn't any fun for my neighbors either.. When you walk into the hallway, you know what everyone is doing. Conversations, television shows, and general household chores would echo leaving you with absolutely no privacy! Plan on having sex anywhere in your apartment? Know that your neighbors can hear. I don't even know where to begin with maintenance. 80% of the reason I chose this particular complex was due to the washer/dryer in each unit. Well, in the 7 months I've been here my washer and/or dryer had broken down about 10 times! And if it happens to break down on a Friday, you're screwed for the entire weekend! Picture that with a child starting sold foods! I shouldn't be 100% negative. They do cool community things like bingo, pizza parties and a communal garden. Happy searching!
