It happened to be Norte Dame's Homecoming game, and the stadium was absolutely PACKED! The game also happened to be the featured game of the week on Spectrum TV, so people everywhere were able to watch it. The football stadium is large, very modern, clean, and well-maintained. Porta-potties are available for men and women on the visitors' side, or you could walk halfway around the north end zone to use the restrooms on the home team's side of the field. The lighting on the field was perfect, and every seat in the stadium offers a clear, unobstructed view of the playing field. Employees and volunteers alike were very friendly and welcoming, and the uniformed LAPD officers provided security before, during, and after the game. Parking is available on the street in the surrounding neighborhood. Regarding the game itself, we were there cheering on Bishop Amat, so we left the football stadium happy, as our team won :)

My Alma mater took the win, and I had a great time watching the game, but the experience at the stadium had its ups and downs. Parking was pretty much nonexistent, so be prepared to park blocks away in the surrounding neighborhood. Once inside, the stadium was packed to the brim. The atmosphere is energetic, though Notre Dame's band is quite small with only 4 flags. They could definitely use a feature baton twirler to add some pizazz! Unfortunately, the biggest downside was the behavior of some parents in the stands. A few were incredibly rude and shouting name calling insults, which escalated to the point of causing some kids to have panic attacks and leave. Overall, it's a neat school and I enjoyed supporting my student, but I wouldn't return unless necessary for another performance.

When my child reported being slapped by another student, the school staff dismissed it as "a game the kids are playing." Explaining physical assault as normal behavior is not only irresponsible -- it sends a dangerous message to both children and parents. When a child comes forward saying they were hurt by other students, it deserves to be taken seriously, not minimized or excused. If this is considered "normal" by the staff, then this school has a serious problem with student safety and accountability. I have lost all trust in the administration's ability to protect children. I am counting down the days until the school year ends so I can transfer my child. I will also be formally escalating this issue to the school district. No child should feel unsafe at school, and no parent should be made to feel powerless when advocating for their child.

The evil I experienced at this school in 1990 was breathtaking, and by today's standards would have lead to this school's closure with all the social media video to back up my assertions. I almost committed su***de that year. "We let the children work out their problems themselves" was the mantra. No relief. No protection. It wasn't until I overheard parents raving about it at a party, that I decided to take a tour. I'm so glad I did. There's so much fights that at this point they don't really care anymore. Another time, a few girls blamed me for something I didn't do but in reality it's what they did. Best for last, the school dress code is unfair, when 7-8th grades wear something they aren't supposed to wear, it's okay for them, but when 6th grades do it, it's a different story. I feel like they should be fair and let people decide what pants they wanna wear, the shirts are okay but not the pants, and also these girls from my class and in the main building had a little beef with me because of something I didn't say at all, and when I was speaking to my friend, they suppose that I was talking smack about them when my friend looked at them for under a second. this is school is booty cheeks and very very bad, one of my teachers also is kinda mean, if you do something wrong she will either call your parents or cuss you out. so if you plan taking your kid here DON'T the counselors won't do anything about it and really they don't care for you. but they have k-pop students so that's okay I guess if you kid likes k-pop. AND THE CLASSROOMS SMELL LIKE CHEEKS!

Campbell Hall is an INCREDIBLE school. I am so grateful my daughter got in (for Kindergarten, now…read moreshe's in 2nd grade). Yes it is expensive, but 1 out of 4 kids is on partial or full financial aid and that was very important to us, because we can afford it, but we did not want our daughter going to a "rich kid" school. And this school really values diveristy, including socioeconomic diversity. It is technically Episcopal but 22% of the student population is Jewish and the kids learn about and celebrate all kinds of different holidays including Diwali. We of course worry about gun violence and the campus is a COMPOUND. You cannot get onto campus without being checked out by security, and there is a former Marine on campus at all times with his adorable German Shepard, Otto - who is GREAT with the kids but I imagine also trained to attack and take down anyone threatening. One of the things I like the best is there are so many after school activities on campus I don't have to drive my daughter anywhere else, I just pick her up a bit later on days she has activities like Toy Design, Junior Shark Tank, Tennis, Mindfulness, and Improv. And while we do not use the bus system yet, my understanding is that Campbell Hall has the widest and most extensive bus system of any of the private schools in LA. Lastly, the parents CARE and are really involved and the school really welcomes their involvement. And the kids are taught values and kindness is a major priority along with education. Again, I recognize the expense is daunting and it's very hard to get into, but we applied and got into Laurence, Oakwood, Hollywood Schoolhouse etc, and are extremely happy (and so is our daughter) that she got into CH. She is absolutely thriving.
