My initial visit went well- I provided my insurance information and was provided a treatment plan detailing my costs- perfect! I was informed I would need a deep cleaning- which would need to happen in 2 sessions. I went to my first appointment early december and paid the amount outlined in the treatment plan. Easy peasy. TWO weeks later, on the eve of my 2nd deep cleaning session (and less than 15 hours before my appointment)- I received an appointment confirmation call. At the end of the call the receptionist CASUALLY mentions something about my insurance not being in network anymore and how I would now need to pay $700+ out of pocket. Girl, how are you going to call someone and drop that bomb on them 5 days before christmas? Needless to say, I cancelled the appointment and emailed them to get a more detailed explanation. Except I never got one. Instead, I received the least professional response I've ever gotten (see attached). I do not blame fresh smiles for my insurance *seemingly nowhere within a 2 week time frame deciding their office was OON* however, i DO blame them for piss poor communication. So now i sit, dentistless with half my mouth cleaned. Please be warned that while this dentist office has some of THE sweetest hygienists, and a great atmosphere, the communication here is absolute garbage between patients and their front office. Despite that, I was later billed for charges I never knowingly approved and never agreed to pay out of pocket. What made this worse was the lack of transparency. I repeatedly asked for clear documentation, itemized charges, and proof that I signed for certain services they later claimed I owed. Instead of properly resolving the dispute, the account was sent to collections and reported to the credit bureaus. I already paid significant amounts directly to the office, including payment for Invisalign by credit card, yet they still pursued additional disputed charges without properly explaining them. Patients should be very careful here and request everything in writing before agreeing to treatment. Make sure you fully understand what insurance covers and what they may later try to bill you for. Very stressful experience overall, especially the handling of billing and collections.

I had contacted 3 other dental offices prior to making a decision. To say we had an incredible first experience is an understatement! My husband has some dental anxieties and had a wonderful experience with both the dental hygienist and dentist, Dr. Shah. His first appointment was scheduled for the next day which included X-rays and a thorough cleaning and examination. Everyone in the office is extremely friendly and honest without being pushy about services or "extras" that may not be needed. I went a week later with my toddler and had a wonderful experience as well. They were quick and great with my uncooperative toddler and did not mind him hanging out to wait for me to be done. My appointment felt very thorough as well and the staff, once again, was amazing. Dr. Shah laid out options for future dental work, but encouraged me to think about everything as it was not urgent. Not one person in the office was pushy with anything and explained each step and answered all questions. Wonderful experience with a very nice office and great staff. Highly recommend! She examined me front to back, up and down, inside and out. I apologized for the mess my mouth was in. I saw a Prosthodontist for almost 9 years. I spend a lot of money, time, pain and not to mention anxiety. This dentist I saw was a salesman and sold me a lot of junk. Whatever work that was done had to be redone. Dr Veys was able to fix and undue the damage that was done and I didn't have to take a second mortgage. I never had to sit around. She ran pretty much on schedule. This was wonderful after waiting hours to see the other dentist. I spent more time walking out of appointments which was horrible, lack of patients time and unprofessional. I didn't have the anxiety of her discussing money and what things cost. The previous dentist would talk money before working on me. Even telling me how to pay for the work. I thought that was the job of the front office? There is never any pressure at Dr Veys. All financial services are handled with the staff at the front desk. Erica explains everything on the bill. Also, I found it interesting that when I would ask questions she would appear annoyed. I have gone to another dentist who is wonderful. I explained my family wants required procedures and we're happy to discuss any that are anything else. What we didn't want was every visit to be told we need work, when we didn't. He also takes the time to really explain the what and why of his work - it's really fantastic. Example: Last time I went to Veys several years ago I was told I had several teeth that needed cavity work. My new dentist never mentioned a thing. He did say everything looked great and he advised on items that might be coming within the next 10 years due to my age. Don't take my word for it, talk to anyone who has seen her for more than a couple years.

After I got the estimates for the dental work to be done from the insurance, which were higher than expected, I asked to be sent somewhere else to complete the rest of the work, with a dentist that is actually a Preferred Delta Dental PPO provider for real. But this office decided to charge my insurance for the rest of the work that they never performed and now I have to take action in getting my money back to go somewhere else. They charged my insurance for installing a crown that they did not install! Be very, very careful! Do not trust their website. Check with your insurance. I am still walking around without a tooth, and they charged my insurance for completing this work! The office did not answer my email either, regarding billing. I asked for a refund for the part of the claim they charged my insurance, but they did not complete. They still have my tooth but charged my insurance for installing it in my mouth. Well, it is not in my mouth! Ciara is very rude and unhelpful and did not call me back after the front desk said she will check on coverage and let me know. She continues to insist the dentist is a PPO delta dental preferred provider even though he is not. Their website also advertises this. No one answered my email either. It is quite unbelievable that they charged my insurance for installing a crown, and I still have a missing tooth. They did not call me or email me back or contact me back in any way. Very dishonest. Be warned! All I asked was to be issued a refund for the portion that the insurance paid them for, but they did not yet complete. I would also like my crown to be sent to a preferred Delta Dental PPO provider, so I can go there to get my tooth fixed. I think it is a reasonable request, given that this office would charge me 30% more for out of pocket because well, of course, according to Delta Dental, they are NOT a preferred PPO Delta Dental provider, as they claim, no matter what they advertise on their website or what Ciara tries to convince you.
