SKY AIRLINE - A Nightmare from Hell
April 26, 2015 - I was…read moregoing to wait until landing, but decided that perhaps venting my misery during this nightmare from hell flight would ease my pain. My mother and I boarded Sky Airline, Flight 801, from Lima, Peru to Santiago, Chile on April 26th at approximately 6:50PM (Seats 6D and 6E). Our suffering began even before boarding, when I tried to check-in online. Most airlines allow you to do this in one simple step, but even this is extremely difficult with Sky Airline, as the system continued to display "cannot find reservation." We arrived at the airport 3 hours ahead of time as indicated, and at the counter I was promised a seat with more leg room so that my mom who recently had hip replacement surgery could travel more comfortably. To our surprise, we get to our seats and we are literally packed like sardines. A city bus at full capacity is more comfortable than the situation we were in. My mother's seat was broken, and since the flight was full, they could not move us; I ended up with the broken seat so that my mother didn't have to. My mother was sitting on an aisle seat, and I was in the middle. Later a very nice (and super tall) Australian gentleman arrived to sit next two us by the window (Seat 6F). He was very upset as he had requested and was promised the exit row seat (due to his height). His seat was broken too. No kidding, his legs were literally on top of mine, that's how tight the space was. I had my mother move to his seat and kindly offered him the aisle so that he could at least extend his legs toward the aisle. I was still in the broken seat. The plane was like a sauna... and everyone was very upset. Once the flight took off, they air was turned on. But, oh my goodness, when passengers started reclining their seats, we were in agony. This almost felt like a human traffic scenario. I felt like a prisoner. Later, we were given something they called "dinner." Lousy as you can imagine, plus the tray was so close to your face that using a fork to eat it was painful. The attendants did nothing about it. There was no apology. Absolutely nothing. DO NOT FLY SKY AIRLINE.
