While not inexpensive, it was worth every penny to know the paperwork was being done correctly and USCIS wasn't going to come back with a million questions or deny the application. Every case is different and my mom's situation wasn't incredibly complex, but it took half the time we estimated. Bottom line - applying for a green card isn't an easy process, even if you're a native English speaker. There are tons of forms to fill out and documents to provide.
