We got married at Ely's Mill on April 4, 2026. The venue was just what I have always dreamed of for a private and romantic outdoor wedding. It was an amazing experience. Ruth was extremely helpful throughout the process. We stayed in the Millside Cabin on the property for two nights. All of our vendors were able to park and set up early for the ceremony and take photos and video on site. Ely's Mill is not only cute but has history. I met Ruth the granddaughter of Andrew Ely who built the mill. What a beautiful place. It has reasonably priced locally made items. I'll be back for sure. Got married here today! The surrounding area is BEAUTIFUL and me and my wife just loved it! We wanted just a small simple wedding with just the two of us, and this was PERFECT. Afterwards we stopped at their little shop and bought some souvenirs and some amazing local chocolate. We went hiking later and found that one of the trail roads pops out right by it! So if you go hiking at rainbow falls or grotto falls this place is a must see! read more

Great piece of history tucked away in Gatlinburg. We enjoyed this outing as Gatlinburg is full of chain over-commercialized places of business. The people who work here are very authentic and knowing of their trades. Very kind and the gift shop is adorable and extremely affordable. What a step back in time. This adorable Mill was a pleasant surprise at the end of the Rough Fork drive. I was so happy to stumble upon their little shop with a unique assortment of old and new. Lots and lots of handmade goods. I bought some of the yarn the woman had spun herself. Spinning for 40 years is what she told me. They have craftsmen who do demonstrations throughout the week. Gone to church on Sunday. They also have very nice clean restrooms available! read more

A nice, quaint little tourist trap just on the outer edge of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. If you're on the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, this is right at the end. You probably won't even realize you've left the actual park grounds until you realize that what you've arrived at is a private business and not a park concession. It's a decent little set of shops and small rest area at the end of the trail. It's a good place to rest and stretch, and folks who have been along the trail are often here talking and discussing what they've seen. There's a small gift shop with local gifts and goods and refreshments (at the usual markup, of course). I don't know if I'd bother to stop here if it was just another random stop in Gatlinburg, but after a couple of hours slowly cruising along the nature trail, it was a very welcome and refreshing stop and blends well with the whole experience. read more

We thought this was supposed to be an antique store, but no antiques here. Just made me sad. Although, the outhouse seemed quite popular.

Like stepping back in time. From antiques to hand made items. It's a beautiful drive and well worth stopping in. When we stopped in, there was very nice lady sitting in the corner spinning thread. This will for sure be come a regular stop for my family when visiting Gatlinburg Tn. :) read more

Would have liked to go in and get a handcrafted broom, but most of the folks visible through the windows didn't have a mask on. The store could easily have put up a large chalk sign like the National Park Service did at all of its stores, but they didn't. People only seem to wear a mask in this area if explicitly told (there is serious pandemic denial going on). They are probably losing out on sales by not enforcing COVID measures, especially given that the college educated, city dwelling (and likely higher earners) tend to wear masks. read more

Neat place to stop in when you are done driving the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. The store is small, but has a good variety of gift/souvenir items such as locally made pottery, honey or jams, soaps, wood crafts, and even baked goods. read more
