The original store has a nice selection of video games and Pop Vinyl's; among all the items they offer. Staff were cool to chat with and very down to earth. The new second storefront located next door offers a different experience. This is being setup as a card gaming space with tables and video gaming space with TVs. They have a stock of figurines and comic books, and it was worth stopping in to browse. Go Gamer also has a space in the Laurel Mall/Plaza Flea Market that's open a limited number of days per week. Overall, Go Gamer is a quality shop that runs below the radar in some ways that's very much worth a stop.

Somehow in a store a fraction the size of a Guitar Center they have a better selection of mid to higher end stuff! Really impressive. The staff graciously let me try out a dozen effects pedals. I bet they have lots of return customers. They have a real guitar luthier so this place really has everything a guitar player would want. I cannot say enough great things about Abby's and John. John and his team delivered a custom eternity band with diamonds from 3 generations and it is simply beautiful. I couldn't be happier and every step of the process was relayed to me by John. Superior service and John's knowledge is unmatchable. He is the best jeweler and even though I live in Maryland, I'll only trust John and his team for my jewelry needs.

The staff was incredibly kind and personable. We had no wait time and did not feel rushed by the associate helping us. We had one piece of silver that was rather large and needed special examination in order to give us a price for it. The owner of the store came over and examined, measured and weighed the piece himself. This was our first experience in trading in jewelry and coins for cash and both the owner and the sales associate took time to explain to us how they determine the value/price for each item, whether the price was likely to fluctuate in the near future and so on. One of the qualities I liked best about Abby's was that even after a lot of time was spent on our items,I felt no pressure at all to sell or trade in all or any of our pieces. We decided to keep a few items and sell them the rest and we were very pleased with our cash amount received. The other trips to Abby's were to purchase Pandora charms. Abby's is the only site locally who carries Pandora. The only reason I give Abby's four stars instead of five is that they do not carry all of the Pandora charms and have only a limited amount of each charm (sometimes only one) so if you are shopping during a busy season such as Christmas or mother's day then they are likely to be out of many of the charms. Abby's is not only a Pandora store as they carry a wide range of jewelry items so it is understandable that they would not be unable to keep their inventory stocked to the capacity that a Pandora store would. That being said I still think a four star review is most appropriate since right now they are the only site in our area licensed to carry Pandora and I hope in the future to see more of a selection in their charms.

Everyone has a few places that are inexplicably magic for them. For me, one of those is Saloom…read moreDepartment Store in Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. It is not what it seems by its name. It really only has one big department - outdoorsmanship. If you can wear it, walk in it, camouflage in it, shoot it, cut with it, or lock it safely away in a cool metal safe, Saloom's has it in a variety of sizes and colors. Ever since I started coming out to this part of Appalachia and was introduced to this great old store, I have made my annual pilgrimage over Christmas. It is the place to get those unusual (for me) gifts for the brothers in law who spend most of their free time hunting and fishing in the beautiful hills and vales of this part of the Allegheny Mountains. Boots, Camo jackets and pants, steel blades for every purpose, insulated hunter's overalls, bows, arrows, ammo, scopes and a million Woolrich sweaters and Browning shirts piled high on shelves in the back room in amazingly attractive styles. All this in a 3rd generation store with broad plank floors, and 12 foot tintype ceilings. There is even a 14 point elk on the wall guarding the premises. I always manage to find something that I like, and whatever I get for my brothers is always appreciated. Today, I found two 3 button sweaters in cotton and wool that fit me and instantly made me look like Jeremiah Johnson. Son needed a new camo sweatshirt, and the dad in law liked the feel of his new pocketknife with its glimmering Georgia Steel blades. I am an easy mark in Salooms, coming from back East, and lacking the growth of beard and twangy argot of the locals. Still, they know who I am and my people, so tolerate my presence knowing I will be leaving with a nice chunk of their inventory. If you ever find yourself in this part of the world and love the touch and feel of a true piece of old fashioned American mercantilism, track down Saloom's and take a look around. I defy you to walk out without something you never knew you needed, but suddenly cannot live without.
