Tuscany Turkey Sandwich
Andrea R.

Elmisa used to be a go to! I was excited they opened a location in Escondido as it's closer to me than their RB location. Now that they've discontinued my 2 favorites, I'm not sure if I'll be returning as I've tried several other items on the menu that just haven't been my cup of tea. It's a shame because the staff is so friendly and they have a nice outdoor patio so you can bring your well behaved dogs. The interior can get a bit stuffy especially when it's busy. I guess I'll just have to figure out how to make the Hampeno and Medi Toast at home since they took them off the menu.

i had a strawberry matcha latte and a croissant breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was quite good and the matcha was good, but i wouldn't consider it a great matcha! still pretty tasty though. the prices were very good in my opinion, especially for california. more affordable than my coffee shops in phoenix. My cousin ordered a few drinks and it took quite a while, someone else took her order but the employees were nice. i felt like service was not too bad at all. Very average experience but not at all negative! cute spot to stop for a quick breakfast.

This small but mighty café. I got good food, the service was okay. I didn't have to wait to be seated. I enjoyed my breakfast. Honestly the cost of the food is a little higher than I would generally prefer. But then I'm not a huge breakfast person, so maybe it's average. I would recommend to friends though. I know a lot of bagel coffee people that enjoy this kind of morning place.

Elmisa Cafe is one of our favorite breakfast spots in Escondido! The coffees and pastries and breakfast sandwiches are delicious! Staff is friendly and helpful and we're always able to find a seat indoors or outdoors!

Escondido's best breakfast and lunch cafe. This popular cafe is relatively new after being converted from a pizza place. If anything, the best part of Elmisa cafe is that it's casual enough for friend meetups and the food, particularly the sandwiches, are really good. - Skip the wraps, get a sandwich.

I came here for lunch and was craving something light and fresh. This was the perfect pick. I was drawn to the menu because there was a wide variety of options from sandwiches, bowls, smoothies, and more. Upon walking into the cafe I was welcomed by the staff. There inside of the cafe has plenty of seating. I ordered the fig and prosciutto toast and I really enjoyed it! The flavors of all the toppings went together very nicely. I was really impressed by the options for the toasts. I like that this cafe adds protein to to most of their avocado toasts. A lot of other cafes will charge the same amount and will not include protein. I think it's worth it for the price point! I also ordered the banana red and blue smoothie with almond milk instead of apple juice. The was the only downside to my meal. It tasted really watered down and bland. It could have been due to using the almond milk instead of juice. Although based on the runny consistency I feel they may blend the smoothies with ice. My feedback would be to use only frozen fruit for the smoothies for maximum flavor or add honey. I will definitely be back to try the other things on the menu!

This place is SO GOOD!!! We door dashed the Rula and the turkey gouda. I was actually craving a grilled cheese but when I started seeing what was on their menu I was swayed and OMG it did not disappoint. Bread was soft and delicious the flavors were incredible 100/10 recommend.

Stopped in for a quick bite and coffee on my way home from an appointment and have passed this cafe multiple times before finally catching them during business hours. I ordered a peanut butter and chocolate latte and breakfast sandwich. I personally am not a fan of eggs in my breakfast sandwich, and should have ordered without it. To me the sandwich was perfect without and extremely filling. The drink was too sweet for my tastes, and tasted a little grainy, possibly from the peanut butter that's spread on the sides of the cup. Definitely a flavor profile that works well, just missed for my personal tastes which is of no fault to the cafe. I will want to come back to try other items because I'm sure they have some fantastic drinks on their menu and my taste just didn't align with that particular drink.

This is a really nice cafe with great sandwiches and coffee drinks. Nice relaxing ambiance, indoor or outdoor. The music was EDM when I was there, which was not too loud. Good new place in Escondido to just grab a bite, or catch up with friends over lunch or coffee. They have sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches with eggs, healthy bowls, wraps, salad, etc. You can select something from the menu or make your own custom sandwiches. I had a Turkey Gouda Sandwich, which was fresh and tasted like the best homemade sandwich. I loved it! The rosemary bread was excellent. The food came out quickly. Definitely going back for more!

Came and met a friend for a quick meet up here. Easy parking since it's in a shared lot. The Cafe has an open feel once you step in. You order at the counter, find a table and wait for your name to be called. I kept it simple with ordering a hazelnut latte and their seasonal pumpkin bread. Friend got a latte and the NYC. Food and beverages were okay. Sampled my friend's NYC, lox toast, and thought it was good but didn't stand out from any others I've had. Maybe I'll come back to try a more heavier meal.

Love it! Family owned and operated friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Brought my nephew in to get a smoothie went over the options you got a protein blast and was all smiles after his first sip. Highly recommend coming through and supporting a family operation. I'll be back for sure.

New favorite brunch spot. Came here with my husband and toddler. Had the yummiest breakfast at such a great price, and they make a bomb coffee. The coconut coffee is awesome. The staff was so friendly and everything was clean and child and dog friendly. Thanks Elmisa cafe!!!!

Clean inconspicuous cafe right next to El Charro in Escondido. Partner and I were looking for something healthy and filling. We were very happy with our BLT w/ avocado and the breakfast sandwich. Service was pretty fast compared to other places. The pumpkin latte was exactly what I needed as a pick me up. Will definitely return before my Barnes and Nobles visit :)

They serve a fair variety of sandwiches and other little items to buy such as coffee and cookies. The location is small with about a total of 5 seating areas including both inside, and out. For service they're all very friendly since it's primarily the family owners who serve you. You go up to the front and place your order and they'll bring the food you order to your table, they do close early since this is a breakfast spot first and foremost, so expect to arrive early if you want to eat here. I usually order The Works in a half since a full size sandwich is well over $20, excluding any additions or substitutions you may make. The sandwich does taste really good, but it does come at a steep price. They've grown in popularity over the years, which may have influenced their pricing (by a lot) which in my opinion does outweigh it's value. While I do enjoy my infrequent visits, I can say this location is more of an occasional treat, as opposed to a constant meal to be had often.

I'm a huge Wicked fan and was excited to see this event advertised on Yelp. This restaurant was the only one in North County I can think of that acknowledged the movie when it was about to be in theaters. First of all, it was easy to get to based on my GPS but kind of challenging to find their parking lot. I ended up finding a 2-hour parking on N. City Drive which was in walking distance. All I was thinking of while walking up to Draft Republic is that this place is massive. Inside, the hostesses verbally instructed me where to go...came across bowling...arcade games...sports on tvs on my way. Behind the curtains, I entered the room in awe. Draft Republic really went ALL OUT!! The Wicked witchy vibe was sooo magical. I loved the beautifuuul Elphaba/Glinda decorations, cleverly creative themed menu option names, actual movie playing in the background, and the take-home momentos. Nick and staff were super wickedly friendly too. The Wicked Bites, Grimmerie Shots and Wickedest Cocktails were all FANTASTIC!!! I definitely tasted Draft Republic's wickedness. I appreciated everything about this experience....well well done. What a WICKED TIME! I hope there are more speakeasy pop-ups in the near future :-)

Because Draft Republic is a rough place to quantify. The food is pretty good; if going off that alone, this place would easily be four stars in my eyes. But, it's not ... Draft Republic is trying to be a bit closer to like a mini Dave & Buster's (a place I have come pretty close to loathing). With an arcade, a bowling alley, a golfing simulator, a full bar, pretty extensive menu, good music, and a fantastic staff, they really have a lot going for them with a little something to make anyone happy. My own issue deals solely with the cost. Came here with my son, all we did was eat two entrees and an appetizer between us, and did nothing else. With drink and after tax and tip, the cost was well over $90. No games, no play, just burgers (plus fries and poke tacos) for two, costs as much as many Californian's net after a full day of work. When you're used to feeding the whole family for about half as much when going out (or a little more when eating sushi), that price was a bit rough. Still, the food is very good. My son and I each ate The Draft Republic Burger. It was perfectly cooked, juicy, very flavorful, and the toppings were high quality. The fries were crisp and salted well. And the side salad wasn't too bad. Both of us ate our entrees and gave it high marks. We had started with the Tres Poke Tacos, where the Tuna was very tasty, steeped in a flavorful marinade, and felt nice and fresh. Definitely a good starter. And the restaurant itself is gorgeous. A lot of space, beautifully furnished, kind of industrial meets art deco with some new age greenery architecture thrown in. I like it a lot. But, as an aging Gen-X'er, who used to go to arcades back in the day, and hates what new arcades have become, the amenities are under appreciated by me. All of that pads the price tag a bit out of what I am willing to pay just for dinner. Which may not be fair to Draft Republic, but that's where it left me.
