As an entrepreneur myself, I would not normally write a negative review; however, this firm went…read morebeyond the pale in both incompetence and unprofessionalism. This firm is supposed to manage the Marital Trust of my 86 yo mother. My father set this Trust up before he passed away. My expectation is that they are obligated to ensure the disposition of assets included in the Trust in the best interest of my mother; however, goldberg has taken it upon himself to decide who gets what inheritance, rather than follow clearly annotated instructions for disposition. Specifically, he gave a weapon to one family member when it should have gone to another. He thus far has failed to remedy his mistake. As for goldberg's complete lack of professionalism; when I sought to purchase a vehicle held in trust, I inquired as to what THEY required to make the transfer. This is me buying a car from the trust, and them/goldberg managing the trust. When I called their office I was told they were 1) not managing my mother's trust and 2) the vehicle was not part of the trust. They were clueless and furthermore, did not provide any information about what they themselves would need to clear the vehicle from said trust. Because I knew what they had told me was false, I wrote to doug goldberg directly informing him of the confusion caused by the false information given by his staff. Rather than be grateful for the constructive feedback, he attacked me conveying that my intent was simply to seek free legal advice! He called me rude and bitter, simply because his ego could not tolerate the fact that his firm made a few mistakes. I was not seeking legal advice, I was being courteous in asking what THEY needed as documentation of the sale of a Trust item. In addition, when I have inquired, OVER 6 years time, on different questions about the Trust, he refused to answer any questions stating I, as a daughter, was not entitled to his services. This was in reference to purchasing my father's house, also in the Trust at the time. Zero professionalism. Rude, insulting when anything doesn't go his way, right or wrong. My advice, go to another lawyer, this one is bad news.
BTW, I am very close to my mother, discussing everything with her beforehand. She is billed for every phone call, even when zero help is provided. The way this firm, goldberg law, takes advantage of the elderly is disgusting. Every sad lawyer cliche exists in this sorry firm. Beware.
