My mom had hip surgery here and then stayed on at their rehab facility on the seventh floor afterwards. The quality of care was excellent! Wow! Everyone we encountered from doctors to nurses to PT and OT staff were super friendly and caring!! The food menu is truly amazing! I was blown away by how many choices there are for every meal, and mom said everything was quite delicious! The only drawbacks are that the facility itself seems to be showing its age, and parking was a bit of a pain. They do have complimentary valet parking on weekdays, though! read more

The ER Waiting room was so dirty. It was disgusting. The wait time was totally unacceptable. Noone should ever have to wait 16 hours in that awful waiting room. I arrived at 3:45 pm. My lab results were done by 6:33 pm. They didn't talk to me about my results until 6:45 AM and they couldn't figure out what was causing my sharp pains either. To make matters worse they stick an IV in your arm when you first arrive so you cannot leave even if you wanted to. I was released at 8:00 AM. I will never go to Elliot Hospital again. read more

Had a terrible experience. I was here for 10 hours in the ER o and they would not even try to offer some estimate of when I would be seen because "they have no beds." I was finally seen and just needed an antibiotic and would leave FREEING UP A BED. 45 minutes and still waiting for pharmacy to drop off the pill. Elliot Health's sleep lab tech was abusive towards my son, told us that they could not complete the study, and threw us out at 2am, with my son covered in medical adhesive. They then claimed that they did complete the study (which was false), billed our insurance over $10,000, and sent us a bill for nearly $1500. This was Greg Baxter's (Elliot's CEO) response: " I m aware that you are not supportive of the assessment made by our team regarding your son's care. I have read your recent emails and I understand your intention to raise your concerns to other entities. As noted in our letter of April 14, 2023, we suggested contact with NH DHHS as an appropriate avenue to surface your concerns. I have cc'ed one of our patient relations staff and ask that you utilize her as most appropriate contact if you desire a further discussion. I recently received a bill for a routine ultrasound screening ECC referred me to within the Elliott System. The bill was over TEN TIMES the national average for this procedure, most of which was billed under a facility fee which means insurance will Not cover it. A facility fee is not appropriate as this not an inpatient or emergency procedure but rather an outpatient exam scheduled weeks ahead of time. My insurance validated the same exact exam would have cost $200 in Salem NH rather than $2,400 at Elliott. This type of surprise billing is under scrutiny at the federal and state level in the legislature as it is considered potentially predatory and hurts patients. Despite various calls to Elliott, the company (yes, this is a business) refused to reduce my bill anywhere near the national average. While I am happy with the clinical care at this practice, I no longer trust Elliott. read more

Taks 5-10 minutes and is performed as an outpatient diagnostic. However, just 5 miles away, this same procedure is under $200 (cash), and a broader search shows that this is under $100 at some screening centers using the same CPT code. If your insurance pays for everything, great for you but also bad for you as all of these things catch up. Ever wonder why insurance keeps going up? We brought in our 85 year old father with dementia, COPD, heart disease and lung cancer. Got here at 11:20 AM and they triage him. Now it is 5:40PM and all they have done is come out 2 times to get him for blood work. Did I also mention he is on oxygen and they keep giving has less than full. We have been through 4 so far. This is by far the worst ER. I am not sure what they consider an emergency here. Maybe it's his age? The people up front just keep saying we are waiting for a bed. A bed where? In the ER or are you keeping him? Also, they did an X-ray of his lungs and they were clear they found nothing. Did I tell you he has lung cancer on his left lung? They found nothing after 3 years. When it comes to going to a hospital you probably want to have a good experience. This has been our go to hospital through my lifetime but holy crap is this place just not good. Got at the emergency center at about 10, took vitals and sat in the waiting area. I can understand an hour, but we waited in the hospital for close to 6 hours before being admitted. If your looking for a "Yummy Mummy" or "Selling Sunset" birthing experience, go elsewhere; however, if your looking for real people and real conversations this was a great choice for my wife and I and the birth of our son. The doctors were understanding and patient. The Anesthesiologist kept me busy with good conversation. The nurses were supportive and kind. The support staff were always supportive. I can only compare my experience here with my experience in Massachusetts which is suppose to be the Mecca of health care. But Massachusetts claims superiority in various institutions like education, unfortunately, they write the metrics for their claims. In Massachusetts for our first child, we spent eight nights there. We experienced doctors calling other doctors plans "crazy" and because it was near the holidays the hospital would be short staffed making any birth dangerous. It was strange. Nevertheless, if your values match ours and not of Netflix and Social Media, this has been the best birth experience we have had. Thank you Manchester OBG/YN for an amazing experience. read more

BEWARE - DO NOT GO TO THIS HORRENDOUS ER If you have a choice. The worst ER experience of my life. I have been to many "third world countries" and the health care I received there was so much better than the dreadful health care I received at Elliot Emergency Room in Manchester, NH- how is this place allowed to lawfully operate? I went to Elliot for an irregular heartbeat, did not feel well, and had breathing problems. I was quickly seen in triage and had labs drawn. I then sat in the waiting area for 2 hours before anyone acknowledged me again. After another 2 hours, the labs drew my blood again, which is fine and necessary for heart issue diagnosis. After that was quiet.So about 9 hours of waiting I opted to leave. The front receptionist told me I was the next. I answer OK I can wait. Nothing happened,8 new patients went through and I left. This care was disappointing. I never saw a provider. This is not in line with the standard of care. I was able to obtain all blood results from the app, no one ever told me what was going on and what the results were. Well, google it. Now I'm the Google doctor... I walked in at 1:20 pm and there were 2 patients. I walk out at 9:30 pm and the room has approximately 40 patients. So a 60-year-old man with heart disease in 9 hours in the ER gets 2x blood drawn and needs to read the results from the app. read more

I went to Elliot for new neuro changes concerning for a stroke. I was quickly seen in triage and had labs drawn. I then proceeded to sit in the waiting area for 2.5 hours before anyone acknowledged me again, saying I would be heading for a head CT soon. By about 3.5h of waiting (5.5h from symptom onset), I opted to leave. There were no interventions that were going to happen at that point and it was 5am so I can talk to my pcp now. I brought my husband here due severe pain. We knew that he had kidney stones and needed medical help. We arrived here at 5:15 AM without anyone in the waiting room. The receptionist and triage rep were great. It goes down from here. 8 HOURS in the ER with little to know interaction. When doing the ultra-scan on his kidneys they mis-marked the records leaving his information on file wrong. The DR's assistant came in shortly after to talk to my husband about hi pain. After several hours I went to the nurses station where I had to "interrupt" their conversation and ask about being seen. The doctor finally came in, spoke to my husband and noted that she saw his chart when we first arrived, and said to the nurse to give him pain meds and, in her words, "I'll get to him when I can". We delivered our daughter here and got great service. I recommend there maternity ward. However, I'm here today for a shoulder issue. Started at Rivers Edge and they said I should go to the ER for tests they couldn't. Took an hour in the waiting area, that's to be accepted. Been 2.5 hours and no one has come in my room. This place should be shut down for incompetence and patient abuse. I was brought here last week after a major MVA. They did a bunch of scans of my head and told me everything was negative. They then admitted me for " observation " and refused to medicate me. I left AMA because the care was so bad. I fell and my roommate helped me up! Then after being seen @ Mass General, I was found to have a FRACTURED SKULL, A Fractured Cervical Spine ( C-7 ) and Bruised Ribs. They neglected me completely and denied me Pain Control. We went to the ER for my wife yesterday following a recommendation from urgent care suspecting a chance of congestive heart failure. They transferred our data to the hospital as we drove there. Once at the ER, it took about 1 hour and 1/2 to get EKG and chest XRay done. After that, it was waiting, waiting, and waiting. people were coming, being treated and leaving and we were waiting. We ask the receptionist to give us an update and of course, she couldn't answer, understandably not being aware of what happens after her job is completed. At no point, anybody took the time to give us an explanation, we figured out that my wife did not have a CHF and decided to go home. Leaving this neglected place for what it is and promising ourselves to never go back. I don't think that CMC can be worse than that. If anything that's where we will go next time. read more

My viewpoint is coming from a visitor standpoint as I've been here on multiple occasions. I have family in NH and my cousin had her baby here about almost a decade ago (damn I'm getting up there) so I've been to that unit and I've also been to the Cardio Unit and the Fitch Unit. I remember my cousin saying good things about having her baby here and she also had her second child here. As for recently, I have been here a lot. At first I was not impressed with the service and care of some individuals handling of certain areas. They seemed almost like they did not know much about the equipment and what went where, which was alarming to watch. It got sorted out though, I hope for what was the correct way. At some nurse stations, I noticed lack of customer service with visitors regarding patients but their job is so demanding I gave it a pass. They do great work and should be credited for that however the carry-on of personal conversation though when a guest of the hospital stands there to ask a question for longer than 15 seconds is a bit on the disrespectful side, in any job location. Other than that incident, I feel that so far the hospital is pretty decent. It is nice to know they are a unit of Dana-Farber and that is a positive aspect to add to the hospital. Security is thorough with their help, we had to contact them and the man helping us out was very nice and worked with us to solve the issue. I would never personally go to a NH hospital by choice but each state needs a decent hospital and I guess this would be it. The location is easy off the highway too and there's plenty of parking. read more

The receptionist was extremely rude and I sat in the lobby for 6+ hours for nothing because I wasn't seen and I had to leave. I didn't anticipate being in the lobby that long. That's insane! I feel like there was some discrimination to be honest because of how rude she was vs how nice I was initially and to add on there was a lot of people going in and out and it seemed like a few chosen ones were left out of the bunch... Maybe it was our insurance that they frowned upon, our class, or my race but I definitely felt something that made me uncomfortable with the staff there. I explained my situation and asked her if there's any way I could get a letter that I was there in the lobby so I don't loose my room and become homeless. At this point it felt like it was between possibly getting put out to homeless or starving my child i had to return to breastfeed my baby and she woke up a few times hysterical. Its also almost time to take my bigger kids to school. I went into the hospital with pain in my spine because I sustained serious spine injuries from a car accident that made me disabled but today it was worse than it's ever been. I fought tears and lost some of my voice from the random screams of agony when my spine bones would randomly slip out of place and the pain would radiate through my neck and feel like pressure in my head like it would explode if I didn't hold it. I left in more pain but I wasn't crying or fussing because I tend to be able to take pain when it's constant and since I was sitting in the same spot I managed to keep it together but the pain on the way home and out of my vehicle was THE absolute worst. 10/10 I'd say it was a 15 because I don't scream and cry but I was a baby today. They were extremely intensive toward my situation and had zero customer service skills. The lady just kept saying the same thing over and over while giving me a big eyed frustrated stare. So I went in with excruciating pain in my abdomen and sat in the waiting room from 6pm until 6am in the morning. I was throyup blood and complaining until a nurse took me back into triage and had a cat scan done immediately where they found appendicitis and did immediate surgery.
