What I wanted and she said she could do...

I was a walk in to get my gel nails filled and updated for the month... I showed a picture and asked if she could do it and she said yes. She seemed more interested in anything else. Didn't say a word to me the whole time, answered the phone, booked new appointments, made personal calls and checked her phone many times. I continued on tho and let her do her thing that's fine... no cuticle clipping, filed my nails about 8 different times, tries to do the French ombré she said she could do and it comes out half white half pink with a harsh line midway.. I asked for a sparkler white and she said they didn't have anything like that. (In the whole salon not a single sparkley white gel polish- okay) so she put an iridescent silver powder on the tip... no I don't want silver. She said she'd do a normal French tip, at this point it's been about 90 minutes and I need to get out of there (initially wanted my toes done too but definitely not after all this) so I agreed and showed a picture of the French I would like (which after a few tweaks of me correcting her it's close). I have never had an issue at any nail salon like this. And then charging full price when they couldn't do what I even wanted! (I wasn't expecting free but come on!). I was annoyed beyond at this point, and when I mentioned it she did do a $5 discount. I will not be returning to this nail salon ever. There's plenty of other places to go to but I thought I'd give this one a chance. The end result is not horrible but not at all what I wanted and it took substantially longer than any other place I've been to. See pictures below of what I showed I wanted and she said she could do and the end result that I got (also got nail polish all over my arm)

It's your typical nail salon, however after trying many in the area I always come back to Elle Nails. They have the most consistent techs- nothing is worse than getting your nails done and hating them. You spend each day finding every little detail wrong with the job and progressively get angrier. I know. The pricing seems to be on the lower gamut in comparison to other nail places, which is nice because they've always done quality work. It's not going to look like The Sanctuary on Camelback, this place is older and it shows. They did get new pedicure chairs within the last year or so. I see Hai he is great at acrylics. I have him do my acrylics and pedicures. My acrylics never lift when he does them and I can go 3 weeks between fills. He also doesn't try to up-sell you with 5 dollar addons, or ask you questions about your life when all you want is to get your nails done and leave. If you want quiet time go see Hai. I've been coming here off and on for about 7 years and I haven't found another nail place yet to woo me away.

Perfect customer service, polite and efficient. Service was quick, my nail selection was a full set acrylic ombré. I was even told which product for the base would be better after she applied the one I chose. She was right on the correction. I'm glad she voiced her opinion. Communication on what I wanted the entire time. I highly recommend coming here and getting the full works done. 100% best place in Phoenix. I recommend calling ahead and making an appointment. My photo doesn't do the work justice. They're beautiful. Right in time for my runway show.

I came in with a broken acrylic nail that I had originally had done elsewhere during vacation. The lady rushed to get it done, didn't even attempt to shape it. It's uneven. She acted like she didn't care what so ever. Almost as if she was irritated to help me. I will not be returning.

Everytime I go here they never disappoint. they always do my nails the way I want them and makes sure it looks the way I want them to look

I come here religiously just for Judy!! She is hands down the best nail tech I've EVER had. She always takes care of me every time I come in and my nails are always amazing. Im in a bowling league and im a server so im definitely not easy on my nails but I never have any issues. Just came in today for a fill and a pedicure. As it's Christmas I wanted to get something a little different. I've never had any design and just told her to do whatever she wanted to. They are AMAZING!! I'm obsessed. If I could give 100 stars to Judy, I would. I'll never go to anyone else. Love love love her and this salon.

This is not a reputable establishment. Went in today spent $110 for a basic pedicure and acrylics. I wanted a plumeria flower on each nail but ended up with something that resembled dots and squiggles a child would do. Tried conveying my disapproval and all I got was okay okay okay. Nothing fixed and nothing remedied. Manager took her sweet time doing my nails which still broke during the mani and looked bubbled and fragile, then someone came in and demanded her so I got tossed to the pedi lady while waiting for my nails to be finished. Wanted toes and nails to match. That didn't happen either. When someone tries to tell them what to correct they act as they don't understand. Until they get your money and then it's bye have a great day. Not again on my dime. read more

Would not recommend. During my pedicure I let my technician know that I wanted my nails cut in such a way that would help prevent ingrown toenails as I tend to get them. 3 days later and the side of my toenail is red, inflamed, and painful. On top of that, in the same visit, my friend was charged $30 for basic foot care (soak, buff, and nail trim). No massage or hot stone or polish included in that price (seemed a bit scammy and shady to charge that price for a minimal service). read more

This is my second time coming with my friend who recommend this place because her nails always come out perfect. The first time wasn't the best experience because I didn't get what I asked for but I also was not expecting an exact replica of the picture I showed. Second time I got the same tech who sit in seat 4, she did my toes and nails again like she did the first time. I asked for a simple clear pink color that I already had on my nails. As she was doing my nails and I noticed that she was applying the acrylic on differently, but didn't think anything of it. One she was finished I seen the finial product and was not satisfied, my nails still looked like they needed a fill. Sally and Tiffany are very good nail techs but I would not recommend this place because of how bad the one is seat 4 is. read more

This place used to do a good job but after my last experience I will not be returning.I got a dip manicure and before I even got home the top coat was clumping and peeling off.I returned to the salon and was assured it had been corrected it hasn't even been a week and 2 of my nails are severely chipped and the paint has peeled away.For $40 plus for this I would expect a better job. read more

This is the third time I've come to this location and I have had to wait over 30 minutes just to get my eyebrows waxed this was the last straw,they have no sense of urgency. It's close to where I live and want to give them a another chance but looks like it's a no go. read more

I have been going to see Vivian for going on 5 years now and I absolutely love what she has done for my nails! Every single time I go to her I show her a picture of what I would like and she does it! Sometimes I tell her to just do what she wants and she is very talented and creative! Vivian is very detailed and super sweet! I would highly recommend going here and more so seeing Vivian! I recommend all my friends, family, and even my boyfriend sees her too! Also from a nurse who washes her hands am ungodly amount of times everyday... My gel manicures last for 3 weeks! You will never be disappointed :) read more

I came in today without an appointment to get a full set. They got me right in a chair and immediately started working on my nails. The gentleman did a very good job and in a timely manner. I have never had such a quick/good manicure. Usually places are slow as Moses but its worth the wait or they are so fast they look like crap. One extreme or another. Today was not the case! I will be returning to get my fill. read more

This women was so rude! After waiting 20+mins to get a manicure, this women sitting next 2 my nail tech told her " a leaf" would take 2 much time 4 a design, & was rushing her. Shuck her head aggressivly and proceeded to talk mess in Vietnamese as if her body language is not also recognizable. I do not appreciate it and sadly I won't return. My nails were chipping the next day. Darn it and they're so close. I don't care what day of the week it is you treat each person individually like it the first time you met them. read more

Went in today based on Yelp reviews. I hate spending money on mani/pedis - especially because I usually am disappointed with the leg massage or cuticle trim. I figured this place was cheap enough not to care... Holly welcomed me immediately. They were a little busy but had plenty of people working. She did a WONDERFUL job!! Great leg/foot massage with sea salt. She was just the right amount of talkative and so kind. She also did a great job on my nails - they look wonderful and are so cleaned up. She rubbed my arms all the way up to my shoulders. It was so relaxing and comfortable. I haven't had such a pleasant mani/pedi experience in a very long time. Best of all, it was only $30 for a manicure and pedicure! Deal of the century. I will definitely be back :) read more

I have been coming to this salon for two years and the last two experiences have caused the salon to lose my business completely. the nail tech named Judy made both of these experiences extremely uncomfortable and unpleasant. she was very rude and I felt pushed around and like a huge inconvenience. she kept repeating everything that was extra and kept adding things on like if I wanted my nails long it would be extra. SINCE WHEN?? she then told me she wouldn't put a gel coat on top of my nails because it would take too long. I will be more than happy to go miles out of my way to a new salon in the future to avoid ever having this happen again. read more

I've been here several times and have been completely satisfied with every visit. It's a no frills kind of place in regard to their interior decorating. Plain and simple even a little outdated, but they get the job done. They offer all of your basic services for nails and even waxing although, I've only done regular manis and pedis. I find that they really take the time to give a good foot & leg massage at no additional cost which is nice. They also do a good job of scrubbing your feet and heels. I've been to some places where they didn't put any elbow grease into it, but not these girls. My friend gets gel every time and raves how their gels last longer compared to other nail salons in the area. Tiffany gives a great pedi and Sally gives an awesome mani. Every girl I've seen has been great, but those were the only two names I can remember. read more

I headed over here today because 1) it was close to the house 2) They are open on a Sunday 3) I'm giving birth soon and NEEDED a pampering pedicure This place is next to the Basha's and is pretty no frills. They have the standard massage chairs and mine worded just fine. Water was the right temperature. The lady doing my pedicure asked if I wanted them trimmed short which is exactly what I needed since I don't know when I would be back. Pretty typical pedicure. They do use a salt scrub briefly which is included in the price of the pedicure. She filed my nails and scrubbed my feet well. The foot and leg massage lasted a good amount of time and didn't seem rushed at all. Polish was nice and even and looked like any pedicure I've gotten elsewhere. I got just regular polish no design and the cost was $20 bucks. There really wasn't much of a difference between this pedicure and ones I've gotten at "higher end" salons except for maybe having more options to customize your pedicure at other places. Regardless, I would go back. It's close, inexpensive and they do a good job. I figure it will make a quick "momma time" escape once the baby gets here. read more

I went to Vivian today on my cousin's recommendation and she's great! I'm so glad I've come here. She's quick, but thorough. I'm in school, so I like my nails a natural length so that I can type comfortably. Usually nail ladies push back and keep recommending that I add tips, and it makes me so uncomfortable. But Vivian understood and delivered on a natural length! I'm going to keep coming back, they're great. read more

Really nice work here. Manicures are $10 and each of the technicians does a great job. Pedicures are $20 (maybe $25?) and some of the best I've had! A few not great things: -They really want you to be using cash---especially to tip. If you don't have cash, they encourage you to come back with the tip after going to Bashas. -Appointments, while available, aren't really honored. That said, I also haven't ever had to wait more than 15 minutes, even on the busiest of Saturdays. read more

I've been coming here for a couple of years now. Hai ALWAYS does my nails. His service is great, he's a perfectionist and applies gel neatly. Acrylics are never thick or oddly shaped. It's a bit of a drive for me but I haven't found anyone better. read more

i've been going to this salon for over four years getting acrylics with the same guy. Recently he no longer works here and i got a new girl that did my nails. My first time with her my acrylics were not the same length on all my nails. I went there again and had her. my nails are so so much shorter then i has asked for and kept filing when i didn't want them shorter and again not the same length. Very disappointing that Hai no longer works there and i can't go there and get the same quality service that i used to get. read more

I have to give this two stars, for my nails look fabulous (besides the fact they are as sharp as cat claws) $35 for a gel FILL? $30 for a natural bail gel MANICURE? Are you serious?! Beware!!! I had a regular tell us we got RIPPED OFF. I get it is holiday season and you see $$$$$ but I see jerks who rip people off. As I said : beware!! Especially because their little price pamphlet says my fill would be max $25 and the manicure max $20. There is a reason why I go to this place in chandler - $32 for new gel full set WITH MATTE POLISH!!!! read more

Friend recommended this place since my place I was going to never could do all that fun stuff I found on pinterest. Jenny did my nails and she told me to just show her a pic of what I wanted. First time here and it was a great experience! I had Vivian and she was really thorough. I did Gel Nails & Regular pedicure. Both manicure & pedicure included massages with lotion & oil. Pedicure also came with a scrub. Walk ins are welcome. Definitely recommend! read more

I've been going here pretty much every week for the past few months. I've been happy with services every time. Once I left too soon and I messed up the polish on my big toe. I walked back in and the girl was able to fix it immediately. I see some comments about speaking Vietnamese.. Yes they speak Vietnamese to each other pretty much the whole time. That's not an issue to me but if it is for you, be aware that's part of the experience here. I'm always a walk in and try to get there early otherwise on the weekend at lunch they are very busy. So early bird gets the worm :) read more

Went in for the first time last week and was completely thrilled with the job done. It was incredibly busy for a weekday, but I only had to wait for a few minutes before the technician called me over. I don't like to have fake nails on because of what that does to my real nail when it comes off, but most places I've been to automatically start putting nails on even when I just ask for a manicure. However, when I asked for a manicure and a color I got exactly that, not even a try to upsell me on nails. It was done quickly and the quality was top rate. They still look great a week later. I will definitely be back. read more

Tried Ellei's nails for the first time today. Needed a pedicure by my regular place is too busy on Saturdays and this one is closer. Shop had several people getting manis but pedi chairs were empty at 10am on a Saturday! I was seated right away - sanitary plastic liners for the tub were nice. Nice gentleman did my pedi, perfect touch, very relaxing. He switched off to let a manicurist paint my toenails. She added cute flowers (after asking first) and did a great job. Only $26 and 30 minutes of my day! I will be back for sure! read more

I have been going to this place for about 8 years. I always make an appointment with Van. He is very detailed and methodical about doing nails. His pedicure is the best I have ever had, bar none. I have gone in with a migraine and after a pedicure, have left without one. The general ambience of the place could be updated but they are very busy and the people keep coming. The price is very reasonable. read more

Not the best I've experienced but not horrible. The facts: I went on a Friday afternoon, got a gel French tip mani from Cindy, cost $30 I sat down by 12:35p & was out by 1:20p I paid cash so they didn't urge me to go next door to Basha's to get cash as I hear them say to other people Cindy paid great attention to detail. I'm overall happy with my end product. However, the place is just not what I'm used to. She reused her tools... Usually the tech opens a new set of tools (nail trimmer, file, cuticle trimmer) where I normally go. I don't really like to talk when I get my nails done so the fact that she said maybe 3 sentences to me was fine. Again, not horrible but nothing to brag about read more

I have been here on 4 separate occasions for a shellac (gel) manicure and a spa pedi. Every time I'm 100% satisfied with my nails. No, this is a not "top notch" spa, but the establishment is clean, all the ladies do a wonderful job and they're super nice. The gel manicure is only $30 and they have a TON of colors! The deluxe spa pedicure is only $35 and it includes everything under the sun (callus removal, massage, leg scrub AND parrafin wax). I often add a design to my big toes for just $5 more which really makes me feet look the way that they feel: AMAZING! I plan to do my best to go there every other week when possible and will be taking my mother with me and my other 2 friends this Friday. If you want a really great mani and/or pedi, then this is DEFINITELY the place for YOU! read more

So, of all the different types of manicures one can choose from, acrylic (when done by a skilled and experienced tech) seems to last the longest. The salon was quiet and there were 2 other clients in the space during my visit. They prefer appointments, but will sometimes take walk-ins. I don't think they designed it to actually keep people here longer than a few mins, so it's not a spa lounge by any means but has the basics you'd expect for spa treats like water, tea, and a few snacks. She was very gentle in the removal of my past gel -- I feel like I've had nail techs who kind of just chip away at the gel and my natural nail. But Anny was super gentle and was very detail-oriented with the clean-up and shaping. My nails looked so fresh and clean before she even painted it. The final results of her work are in the pictures I attached! One thing to note is that they do not accept Apple Pay, and I ended up tipping my nail tech through Venmo since I believe they only take cash. Total I probably spent $65ish with tip. It's been a week since going and my nails haven't chipped or anything, and the paint's still in tact. Love this place!

I have never written a review before but I am sooo disappointed w my nails. I have never hated a nail set before. The shape is off. Nothing from what I asked. The lady was rushing and just overall didn't seem like she cared. The glitter wasn't even cleaned up. Awful awful awful and then they expect a tip and will put the tip in for you and rush you while paying. I decided to write a review because even my friend who has gone here before said they ruined her shape and the last few times she went they were awful she had to fix them herself at home. Paying $70 for this ??? I am so upset read more

I yelped the closest nail salon with gel nails and this is where I found myself at. The place was very clean, and friendly. I walked right in on a Wednesday afternoon, no wait. Vivian was my manicurist and she was a pleasure, super attentive to details!! I loved my gel manicure and will certainly be back. I also got myself a pedicure. This place is awful. Garbage business ran by garbage girls. My girlfriend got her nails done here by some rude troll and made my girlfriend cry. We had a terrible experience here. Terrible service and the place is infested with roaches and mean spirited people. Elle's nails, you guys are DISGUSTING. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. read more
