Highly recommend working with Kira! I was looking to have professional grade photos for my Yoga teaching business but I wanted an artistic edge to them. Something that carried across my personality... and definitely something different than the typical pretty pose infront of a waterfall or on a beach. I love sunsets and all but that is not my personality. My background is in engineering so I'm very methodical and precise; and I can be intense and highly disciplined and my teaching is tinted with these influences. Kira exceeded all expectations in her approach, creativity and technical skill. She spent whatever time I needed discussing locations that would meet my needs, getting to know me and my vision; when it came to the day of the shoot, she was prepared with a list of places we wanted to go. She found the perfect spots: concrete, sharp angles... very functional looking ambiance with an urban aesthetic that was exactly what I had in mind. Her direction was very precise but never came at the expense of having fun. I actually enjoyed the shoot itself! My photos now make me smile because I remember the moments we had creating them. Kira was very open to requests on the spot. If there was some particular area in the location that I liked, some idea about a particular pose... she'd work with me to determine what it was that I was after and then set up her lighting to get it just right. Her control of lighting is impressive, by the way! She knows exactly how to work with light to achieve the right effects. I've worked with numerous photographers, many of them excellent, and have rarely come across someone that has her level of awareness of the effect of lighting. The result of this shoot was some of the most unique representations of Yoga I've seen. No sunsets, no waterfalls, no beaches, no tights... I was in street clothes, barefoot and Kira managed to reflect the lines of my poses in the background with dramatic effect. They are simply the most meaninful portraits I've had done. I've made excellent use of them in my marketing materials with very positive results. People love the creativity and uniqueness... they are portraits with personality. Definitely check Kira out. She's got vision and mad skills. read more

I love Kira!!! She is extremely patient, giving, flexible, professional...you name it! She was referred to me by another photographer to take pictures at a fundraiser our company was hosting. I was very happy with how the pictures turned out. We used them for our website and marketing materials. I valued her work and our professional relationship, so naturally I asked her to be our photographer again for two other events: 1. She volunteered her services to capture pictures at a city of San Diego event for the disabled that our company was volunteering at. 2. We hired her on again for a marketing photo shoot at the beach. In addition to being skilled with the camera, she knows the ins and out of photography as a business. She is prepared to provide you with waivers, consent forms, consultation on how to use the photos, etc. She is creative and offers artistic ideas to capture the right message you want conveyed through your photographs; however, she doesn't override your wants and needs as a client. She puts in all the work to "touch up" photographs as needed and cares about the small details. Working with Kira as your photographer will ensure all your photographer needs are met at a very affordable price. If you're considering hiring her, I encourage you to call her today!! She is wonderful and easy to talk with. She will answer all your questions, entertain any brainstorming, and you will not feel obligated or pressured. I am sorry to lose her as our photographer, but I am very excited for everyone in Albuquerque because they will have Kira in the neighborhood! I wish you and Kira much success in your endeavors! read more

Last year over the summer I was visiting Albuquerque and Ell Photography made my Senior Portraits the most absolute best. We drove all over Albuquerque, to take pictures in about 5 different locations - downtown, ABQ bioPark, the bosque, and a front door stoop which gave me a wide range of photos to choose from. I wanted a photo on the soccer fields in my team jersey, but all of the sudden a wicked wind picked up and we got rained out :( It was like Mary Poppins with the camera umbrellas, so instead we finished up at the studio. It was a total adventure and was so much fun. I had a huge suitcase of clothes that I brought to the studio before we headed out and she helped me choose which outfits should go with which. She also helped me with my hair and makeup and even gave me one of her necklaces and headbands to wear to make the outfit better. I'm also really shy sometimes, but the senior portraits were more like hanging out and having fun than a boring photo shoot. Most of the time we just played around so my poses weren't so cliche. She got me out of my shell to the point where I couldn't stop giggling the whole time. She also photoshopped my skin to look good :) My whole family LOVED the pictures. It was super convienent because we got a CD to print out some of our favorite photos on our own time, but we've been so busy we haven't been able to do that yet haha. With our package, we also get a Senior Portrait Album, just like the wedding albums that are super nice. We haven't picked out which photos yet, it's too hard to narrow it down. read more

I did a bridal beauty boudoir photo shoot with Kira at Ell Photography. I was a little nervous but Kira made me so relaxed in her home studio. These photos are going to be my groom's gift for my fiancé on the day of our wedding so I was really excited. I have never done anything like this before. Kira and her styling team were just amazing. They were there were very friendly and supportive. They helped me put on eyelashes because I have never worn them before and they styled my hair beautifully. I felt very comfortable during the shoot; Kira gave me directions on posing and how to keep my eyes open because my lashes were so big it looked like I was sleepy. I had two outfits a teddy and a white panty and bra set. I was more self conscious about the second outfit because I was standing and I do not like my stomach as much as mi fiancé does. She told me about lifting my belly button when we did standing photos and coached me on how to breathe. Kira helped with the posing and props and assured me that the beauty touch ups she make would hide any flaws I saw when I picked out the photos for the Vixen Accordion book. Looking through the photos I felt beautiful and sexy in the pictures. I can't wait for my fiancé to see them, it is going to be hard to keep them secrete until July. This boudoir photo shoot was the most fun I have ever had and I am so glad that Kira and her styling team were with me to make it special. Kira is also going to be the photographer at my wedding. read more

Kira has become somewhat of my "personal family photographer". I have booked her for three separate occasions now in less than a year! The girl knows her stuff and is very creative, patient, and professional. The first time I booked Kira, it was for newborn pics for my twins. She was great. Any new mom knows how sleep deprived and loopy you are those first few months and so I was just lucky I got my kids dressed in onsies! She had numerous ideas and even provided her own props and accessories for the twins! The second time we booked Kira was for our first family photo shoot. She suggested we think about what kind of pictures and backgrounds we would like and even suggested the best time of day to shoot for that season. We really wanted to capture the beauty of the fall leaves so she took us to a great location that was close to home, because remember we are working around 10 month old twins with naps and feeding schedules to work around. She took so many great shots and poses it took me days to filter through them to decided which ones I wanted to display in my home. The most recent time we booked Kira was for my twins one year birthday party! It was nothing fancy, just family and friends to celebrate what I feel is a milestone in their and our lives! Kira captured the essences, joy and fun of the party as we opened gifts, played and ate cake! I can't wait for another occasion that I am able to call Kira up for to capture for us forever. read more

We hired Kira to take pictures of our newborn baby boy. She was very accommodating and patient with us while we got him ready and she setup some shots that came out great! We enjoyed the results so much we setup 2 more photo shoots, one on location at the park and another in our house. The pictures that came from these sessions now hang on the walls in our house as well as our parents houses. They are fantastic! Kira herself was very professional and was able to hold our sons attention long enough for the shoot. She was even willing to go along with our desire to place our son in a pumpkin. Here are a couple of pictures of our son on her website. http://www.elltography.com/2010/01/halloween-cuties.html Update! we are having another child and we've asked kira to take more pictures of our baby! She gave us a very good deal as we are returning customers. We also had an experience with another photographer who wasn't nearly as accomodating or good with our son. Thank goodness for Kira. read more

EXCELLENT, PROFESSIONAL, AWESOME quality! I have used Kira for almost a year now and she was recommended by a friend of mine and I am SO glad cause she is such a great photographer and really does quality work. I have gotten several packages with her, Maternity, Family, and Newborn sessions and do not have one complaint! We have done the shoots both at her studio and at our home and she always comes prepared and ready to shoot. Her work is definitely professional and top notch. She is great at picking the locations for shoots and even the different poses and props. She always takes extra time to help us pick out the best pictures and is flexible and reasonable with her time and scheduling. I will continue to use her as our photographer and recommend her to all!! read more
