The space is wide open and airy with lots of long tables, each seating one to three players - many players took up entire tables with their excessive quantity of bingo cards, wide variety of dabbers (often in a specifically designed tote bag), and in some cases, an array of good luck charms. Bright fluorescent lights illuminate the scene and a balcony with overflow seating was our vantage point for observation (and play). Their website says they have a smoking floor and a non smoking floor, so I was imagining a darker smoke filled social hall, but there is now no smoking allowed and I soon realized that bingo is not a social game. With my one bingo card, I had twelve boards to keep up with (twelve is the minimum for play = $12), and let me tell you, I had a hard time staying with it - they call them out fairly rapidly! Chatting and joking with my friend was hardly possible without blowing our game. The food was super limited, low quality, mostly packaged junk. No alcohol is served. There is only one reason to attend and that is for the hope of winning money. There was an interesting buzz in the room toward the end of each game, like the group had a psychic (more like experienced) knowledge that bingo was about to be called. This collective murmur felt like a communal expression of frustration and anxiety. We try so hard, come so close and rarely succeed. The demographic of the room is statistically disadvantaged peoples. In addition to bingo, dealers on the floor sell other sorts of game tickets, like paper slot machine cards. The psychological exchange between the dealers and the players was like a crack deal; the dealers knew many of the players, knew when to come around, what to say and used lingo an outsider would not understand. There was an antsy desperation to win among the addicted, me, I just wanted to get outta there. With a packed house, there is no doubt someone is winning, that is the Slovak Catholic Sokols and their beneficiaries. As for the venue, although full of characters, it has no character itself - it is one of those big quick construction metal buildings.

Wasn't a huge space but it can hold up to 250 so it can get a good crowd and be just fine. The food was good and fresh. The facility was extremely clean and the kitchen was immaculate. The volunteers who run the hall on top of fighting fires are nice and welcoming! We had a really good time. They said they do 2 events a year and other one is around Mardi Gras. I would certainly come back again and highly recommend the space. Very accessible and ample parking for the crowd they had. Not sure they could handle the full 250 when it comes to parking but otherwise awesome space. Also they are about the only VFD who runs the online drawings with thorough transparency and tags the winners and goes above and beyond to make sure they are fair and just. The maid of honor who was wearing heels and a long bridesmaid dress tripped which seems reasonable as you're walking up 65 stairs. Apparently the staff saw this and reported to the security upstairs that she was too drunk and not to let her in. A girl that had 4 drinks in the 14 hour day who was practically sober was not allowed in because she tripped on her dress going upstairs. Meanwhile you can watch the inside of the bar from a tv outside and there's two guys holding up a girl that's literally blacked out, another dude wearing sunglasses double fisting drinks and another guy literally throwing up into his cup. But they chose a girl that was completely calm the entire time, wasn't slurring her words, having trouble walking by herself aside from tripping on her dress one time on the stairs. She never yelled at them or caused a scene at all. We just all sat outside and waited the next couple hours for our shuttle to come back and pick us up. This place ruined the entire night and we all came ready to spend money with no budget. So one staff member effectively cost this place thousands for one night and now none of our family and friends will ever step back into a Live Casino because of this. And we'll continue to share our complete disaster of a night so hopefully no one else ever has to go through this.
