Generous portions and friendly service at The Melt - thanks Hayley and The Melt staff for the experience. First and foremost, love this new area of the mall; the parking is mid but could be worse. The Melts indoor and outdoor seating options are both fantastic; opted to sit inside on this visit but def would sit on the patio on a warm summer day. I had the Meltburger with 2x meat protein style. Going for low carb and all the gainz and they delivered. Also had some garlic parmesan fries which were delish. Good joint for those in search of a hefty burger!
Thank you Hayley, OC Yelp, and The Melt for another wonderful Elite experience event. I checked out The Melt in the new outdoor section of Brea Mall honestly, my first impression was really nice , bright, clean, airy, and the moment I walked in, I was greeted right away. It just felt welcoming. They have those self order kiosks, but I just went up to the counter. Thandee helped me out , super easy to talk to and gave a couple of suggestions. Food came out pretty quick too, so no waiting around. I ended up trying the Original MeltBurger, and that one was a hit for me. The patty wasn't dry at all, everything blended really nicely nothing too heavy, but still satisfying. I also ordered the Original Chicken Melt to support the business, and that one was good too... the chicken was soft, not dry like it can be at some places. Honestly, both were easy to finish without even thinking twice. Fries were good , lightly crispy. I liked them even more with the garlic sauce (I'm a garlic person, so that definitely made it better ). The pickles had a nice crunch, not too strong. They also had a cookie to sample, and that was actually pretty decent. The space is easy to hang out in. There's a lot of outdoor seating if you want fresh air, and inside is simple with brick walls and light up quotes not overdone, just a chill vibe. It's in the newer area, right by where Din Tai Fung and North Italia are opening, so that whole section is starting to feel lively. Parking was easy too , there's a structure near Nordstrom. Also, download the app, they give you free fries Overall, it's just one of those spots that feels easy to come back to. Nothing complicated , good food, friendly people, comfortable space. Definitely one of those places I'd swing by again without overthinking it whenever I'm at the mall.
Review 56/365 Day Challenge Came here on a Monday to enjoy lunch w my Bestie. Shes never had the Melt. I have a few times since it's open. This will be my 4th time. What we ordered ~ cheddar bacon ranch fries were a fav, i requested Cheese on the side. The bacon bits topped on it and drizzled ranch was the best part. Definitely recommended $ 5.99 ~ strawberry lemonade is pre made in a cup right near register to grab when ordering. Isn't too sweet and perfectly citrus enough. ~ Craft soda fountain drink station available. They offer shakes, ice cream & cookies for dessert here. Received our items in a great timely manner and associates are friendly, welcoming. Lots of patio outdoor tables & seatings. Along indoor too. Restaurant decor was simple brick wall with cool saying marquee that the signs lit up. Located next to the Currently being built Ding Tai Fung and it's across from also currently being built North Italia restaurant. It's where the new wing came to the new addition of Brea mall where Sears use to be. Parking in the parking structure in front of Nordstrom Department store and there were a few right out front of restaurant. TIP ~ Dowmload the app to receive a free fries of your choice when you get the app. Thank you so much The MeLt & our best CM Hayley for the scrumptious opportunity. Definitely will be one of the staple eateries when we come to Brea Mall.
The Melt, Yelp OC, Hayley, everyone affiliated - another solid opportunity for us to enjoy something beautiful.. Brea is my favorite city in OC and I am stoked to see the mall being rebuilt into something modern and beautiful. The Melt deserves love and respect for what they are putting out. They opened within the last two months, right in the middle of where many new restaurants are opening on the west side of the mall complex. Worked with employee Brandon during my dine in experience. Very friendly, greeted each customer upon arrival and wished the best to each customer upon departure. He made ordering simple, helped me feel confident in my choices. The double BBQ bacon burger was decent. The meat seemed to lack flavor and the bacon was a little under cooked, but it all worked together to make a decent plate. The garlic parmesan fries were a hit though! Excellent flavor, good portion size, helped me take the burger down better.. I treated myself to a strawberry milkshake as well, sadly it didn't hit home for me - but it was appropriate... My girl got the avocado bacon melt. One bite into it she was already claiming heaven. This spoke to me.
Really enjoyed my meal here! I visited on a weekday night and walked right up to the counter to order. There are self-order kiosks which are probably convenient when it is busy. The staff were nice and friendly. It took about 10 mins to receive my order. This experience allowed for a $20 limit, so I got to try the BBQ bacon burger and garlic parmesan fries. What I liked most about the burger is that you can taste the high quality ingredients. I ate it all without feeling sick after. The fries were definitely very garlicky. The soda machine offered "craft sodas" which was a nice touch. Lots of seating inside and outside. The vibe is casual. It's located in the new, renovated area of Brea mall. I'll definitely be back for when I'm craving a high quality burger. Thank you Hayley for letting me join this experience!
First and foremost, huge shoutout to Hayley and the rest of the OC Yelp crew for setting up this Elite Experience! I used to go to a lot of these Elite events pre-Covid and even the few years following but I've been away for quite a while. I wasn't able to go to any Elite event for the entirety of 2025 so I was excited to see one for The Melt at the Brea Mall which is very close to home. Anyways, as I entered, I was greeted right away by a young gentleman named Kevin A (at least that's what was on the receipt). I inquired about the spicy mission meltburger since I'm a bit of a spice fiend but was also open to any recommendations. He did recommend one of the chicken sandwiches but did mention that the spicy mission is also delicious. Here's what I ordered: **Double Spicy Mission Meltburger: Added raw onions to my burger because it was a free add-on! Wow, this was a very flavorful burger with loads of cheese. After two bites, the burger fell apart but I had a fork so I just finished it off with that, mostly. Also, I hate when I order a burger expecting it to be spicy and it's actually not. However, this particular burger packed a good punch including the fresh jalapeños inside as well. (5/5) **Garlic Parmesan Fries: MMM, delicious! Plenty of parmesan flavoring and a very generous amount of garlic. Best fries I've had in a while and even better with ketchup mixed with black pepper on the side! (5/5) I also got a medium drink to go with my meal. I didn't catch the brand of sodas they use but it's a healthier option since they use real cane sugar. I tried the black cherry which was okay but that ginger beer was absolute fire! I rarely drink soda these days but that ginger beer is something I'll definitely look forward to in the near future when I visit The Melt again. I 100% recommend The Melt and I see myself visiting again sooner than later. I can't wait to try their sandwich options next time.
Shoutout to the Yelp team for another great experience at the Melt! I didn't realize they had opened one here, and am so glad I now know! Parking was a breeze on this Thursday evening and the space surrounding the melt is super cute (and still developing). I can't wait to see it when it's done! The restaurant itself is cute and clean. It has a nice patio area and a small shade structure. Upon entering, you're greeted with kiosks and a cashier. There are also physical menus while standing in line for the cashier. Offering was super easy! I came with my husband and we ordered the Swiss and shroom burger, the Mac & Cheese, and the crispy chicken sandwich. All of them were very good! I would definitely reorder. While sitting on the patio, we were also given free cookie samples! Overall, this place is great! I can't wait to come back.
Came by to pick up dinner for my husband and I. They're totally redoing that area of the mall. It is going to be even more crowded! FYI. I came after work so it was pretty early. It was clean and there weren't that many people there. I didn't get the warm customer service that everyone else received. I felt like I asked a question and the answer was vague and didn't help me. Anyways, I got my husband the original. He said the flavor of the patty was good. He enjoyed it. I got the mushroom one protein wrap because it's a weekday...balance lol I also added garlic fries. That was tasty even after taking a ride home which was about 20 minutes away. I wasn't offered a cup to try the sodas like other yelpers. I had to ask for a cup of water and he kinda just pointed. Food good, parking is ehh, location is good.
First, hats off to Hayley and the OC Yelp team for teaming up with the Melt. We left pretty satisfied! I hadn't been to the Brea mall in maybe over a year and had no idea how many new stores and restaurants had been added! The Melt is located near the new Rivian store and across from North Italia. We parked in the Nordstrom parking structure and it was not a far walk whatsoever. There is plenty of seating outside and inside. The place is well lit up and the logo colors are catchy when you walk up. We arrived around 4:45pm on a Friday. Not busy at all. Ryan helped take our order and was super polite and patient while we asked some questions about the menu. I ordered their Melt Cheeseburger, I only ordered it with a single patty and so glad I did. The patties are nice and thick. I got full off the burger and barely got to dive into the garlic fries I ordered. I paired the fries with some ranch but dressing is not really needed as they are delicious and crispy on their own. My buddy ordered the chicken sandwich and bacon fries. Wow, that chicken patty was a masterpiece. Huge, juicy, and hot! It was a good size and we both were so full after eating out main courses. Ryan came by to ask if we needed anything else and also let us sample their dark chocolate chip cookies which are the best! Served warm, soft center and crisp edges! My fave! We really appreciated all the kind and attentive help we received and so glad we were able to attend this event!
Thank you to the Melt staff and Haley for a wonderfully delicious Yelp Elite Experience! I've seen rave reviews for the Melt, then to have it be a Yelp Event ~. SCORE!!! With something many main course options, how to even choose??! I went with the BBQ burger and had sweet potato fries and the tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons as sides. For drinks they offer craft sodas or unsweetened iced tea. The BBQ burger is made with 1/3 lb angus & Wagyu beef, smoked bacon, 2 slices of cheddar cheese, crispy onions, and BBQ sauce (I added lettuce and tomatoes for no additional fee) all tucked into an artisan bun. This burger was perfectly balanced, super juicy, and just plain delicious!! SO GOOD!!! The sweet potato fries were good, but I would have loved them if they were slightly crunchier (personal preference). I was really looking forward to the tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons and it was fantastic! Turning a grilled cheese into croutons to top tomato is genius!! I'm already looking forward to coming back with my favorite foodie friends :)
I love how juicy the burger is. This is my first time at The Melt. Thank you Hayley and YES for arranging this event. The parking is a little bit tricky because the last time I went to Brea Mall it was not like this so I had to park in the parking building, but the walk was not that far. I was able to combine my order along with an extra burger, and I was able to redeem the rewards from the app because for your first order, you got a free fries. So on top of $20 credit that you gave it's pretty a good deal. The meat is very juicy. I keep it as medium rare. The cheese is divine and really, really love the variety of what they offer. I can't wait to be back and I believe there's melt around my area too.

Mushroom Swiss Burger- The patty is juicy and flavorful. The swiss cheese was grilled until melted. A generous amount of sliced mushrooms and spinach made every bite hearty. The cherry on top was the crispy fried onions. Now that's a burger! Garlic Parmesan Fries- Served fresh from the fryer. They are crisp and savory with a strong garlic flavor, complemented with grated parmesan cheese. Delight in every bite! Thanks again for this wonderful experience!

Had such a great experience at The Melt in Brea! It's located right in the newly updated area of the Brea Mall, surrounded by all the fresh construction and part of a really nice outdoor patio space shared with spots like North Italia, Gorjana, Dick's, and Lululemon. The whole area feels modern, clean, and super inviting. One thing I immediately appreciated was the amount of restaurant pickup parking available. It made it incredibly easy for anyone just swinging by for takeout. No stress trying to circle around for parking! When I walked in, I noticed how nice the interior was very clean with plenty of seating, plus additional outdoor patio seating if you want to enjoy the weather especially since it's been so warm this March. You can order either at the kiosk or directly at the counter, which is convenient depending on your preference. I chose the counter, and the cashier was super friendly, helpful, and gave great recommendations on their most popular items. I ended up ordering the Double Melt burger (which is HUGE) and a side of fries. The fries were perfectly seasoned, and as a nice surprise, the cashier even offered me a drink on the house to try from their soda fountain. They have a really fun selection of craft sodas. They use buzzers to let you know when your order is ready, which keeps everything running efficiently. The restaurant itself was spotless and well organized. The burger was so good, super juicy, cooked exactly how I like it, and packed with flavor from all the ingredients. You can tell they put care into the quality. Overall, such a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish. Great food, great service, and a great setup. I'll definitely be coming back! read more
This was such a delicious Yelp Elite Experience! I haven't been to the Melt in many many years, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I came on a Tuesday night after a run club, so I was ready to eat! The restaurant was located in the new outdoor section of the Brea Mall. You can order from one of several kiosks or at the counter. The $20 limit was enough for me to get a Mac Daddy, tomato soup, and a drink. On top of that my husband got a Meltburger and sweet potato fries. Everything was SO much better than what I remembered from my last visit 10+ years ago, and out of curiosity I did some research... Apparently the menu was completely overhauled about a decade ago with fresher, higher quality ingredients and a bigger focus on their burgers. The quality definitely showed! The Meltburger was a delicious blend of Angus and Wagyu beef that truly just melted in your mouth. I was worried that the Mac Daddy and tomato soup would be heavy on my stomach, but somehow they weren't overly decadent. One of the workers passed around samples of the cookies, which were a perfect way to end the meal! Overall, I was very impressed with my meal, and I appreciate the opportunity to give The Melt another try after many many years! If not for this Yelp experience, I don't know if I would have gone back to the Melt. Now I know I will again and again! Thanks Hayley and the Melt! read more
Thanks to the Yelp Elite team and The Melt for organizing this amazing experience! I tried a few items from their menu and these were the standouts: Classic Crispy Chicken Sandwich Their chicken sandwich had a massive piece of chicken breast that was juicy on the inside and had a well seasoned crust on the outside. The jalapeno gave it a slight kick. Garlic Parmesan Fries These fries were coated with garlic and herb seasonings and they were so addicting! Overall, everything was delicious and the staff were friendly. They even brought the meal to the table. I also like that the restaurant was spacious with nice natural light and indoor and outdoor seating. I would come back again! read more
Thank you Hayley and Yelp OC! We came for the first time today and tried several items. They weren't joking with the melt puns! My burger was cheeeessy! We got the spicy chicken, the Swiss and shroom impossible and the double bbq bacon melt. All three burgers were made well, came out warm and fresh and so cheesy minus the chicken. We also got the fries and the sweet potato ones were delicious!! The regular ones were good but I was hoping for the ranch to be more of a buttermilk base unfortunately I do think it was more of a mayo base so I didn't enjoy those as much as the sweet potato ones. Lastly we ordered the melty mac and that hit every flavor I was hoping it would. I can't wait to come back and try some more of their burgers and possibly the milkshakes. The location is stellar and I don't see this spot doing poorly in anyway, the food was extremely clean from what it said on there to go bags which likely explains the ketchup texture. read more

He even came around with cookie samples and accommodated all of my requests. The quality of the burger is definitely better than most burger joints. They also don't skimp out on the size and ofc I had to add sweet potato fries as well. Honestly, I really enjoyed the food and love how you can add in lettuce and onions for free. The bbq burger also had crispy onions and it added a great texture to the burger. I'll be back to try some of the other burgers! read more

I had a new great Yelp Elite event at the Melt, premium wagyu burger restaurant. The space is not big compared to the Stand premium burger in LB town center. Looks decent, clean, friendly, and modern. I got BBQ bacon burger, French fries, and chocolate shake. They cooked so fast, I only waited about 5 mins. The bun was toasted, patty was so tender. I love it. Tasty! French fries are top notch. So flavorful, crispy. Located next to Red Ribin. The mall expanded toward parking lot. We have green turf outdoor plaza. Relaxing area, many new stores, restaurants, coming soon sign, etc... The quality of burger, friench fries are great. I got tiny chocolate cookie sample too. Overall the Melt is premium burger, sandwich restaurant. I will definitely come again for other burgers and more French fries. Thanks for the great treat to the Melt and Hayley. read more

I had a great wagyu burger lunch at the Melt, Yelp Elite event today. I know the Brea mall for over 26 years but I didn't know they expanded outdoor mall toward parking lot. Changed a lot....modern contemporary outdoor mall. I finally found a new beautiful green outdoor courtyard w cute chairs on the turf. There are many new stores, restaurants, and etc...more coming soon sign. The melt is located next to Red Robin. Find first Red Robin at the Macy's parking lot. The space is not too big but decent, modern, clean, and bright. They had the tablet kiosks to order and cashiers at the front. I have a complementary $20 value to order anything. I chose the Melt single burger, French fries, and iced tea. I waited about 5 minutes and my beep rang for pick up. Really fresh cooked, the bun was toasted, beef patty was so tender, especially French fries w parsley sprinkle were the best. Super crunchy, really flavorful. Perfect 5 stars! Thanks to the Melt for the premium burger meals and CM Hayley. I discovered the new great burger, sandwich restaurant. High quality, friendly service. What a fantastic spot!! Thanks for organizing! I love that there are multiple spots to park for food orders. Super helpful! Upon arrival, I loved the atmosphere inside. It was cheerful and the employees quickly greeted me. I ordered the shroom burger, patty melt, and garlic fries. I also ordered a soda because I wanted to sample the different flavors on the machine. The food was so good and reasonably priced! The patty melt was HUGE! Did I eat it all anyways? Yes. It was delicious. The fries were also addicting. My mother in law enjoyed the shroom burger. We both agreed we want to go back again. Thanks again! Love finding a new tasty spot! read more

Visited for a weekday lunch. This new location is in the new outdoor area of the mall. Such a fun area with turf, lawn games, chairs, and great music. The Melt offers both indoor and outdoor seating. This time around I opted for the BBQ bacon single burger. I hesitated for a moment to consider a double but after receiving my burger, I quickly realized that the single would be more than enough. And of course I had to add caramelized onions. Decided to make it a combo with fries and a drink then added the marshmallow treat for dessert. The sodas are made with cane sugar. The burger was very juicy and flavorful. The hamburger patty not only fits the bun but actually was spilling out of the bun. The French fries were hot, fresh, and loaded with flavor. You do have the option to order at one of their four kiosks or there is also a live person happy to take your order. I look forward to ordering in the future and hanging out in the outdoor area. read more
What a great event this was! First thing I noticed is the many parking spaces for pick up orders around the new section of Brea mall! We are all super excited for all the restaurants that will be opening and super excited The Melt has open! We were greeted by the friendly staff upon entering and couldn't help but noticed the huge selections of burgers and other options. We ended up getting a Swiss and shroom, Mac Daddy, French fries, and tomato soup. All for $18 bucks after getting $20 bucks off! Everything we ordered is cheesy, fresh, and so delicious. It exceeded our expectations. Definitely a great experience and you bet we will be back! read more
So glad I got to be a part of this experience. I'm a bit of a burger snob, and I must say that the Melt is one of the better burger spots I have been to. Loved everything about this place - the cleanliness of the restaurant, easy to use touch screen kiosks, how the condiments and water cups and utensils are self-serve, the wide selection of craft sodas on tap, and most of all, the delicious food and desserts. We ordered original single melt burgers, a mini mac and cheese, garlic parmesan fries, and a strawberry ice cream shake. Every single item was a hit. I would definitely come back to eat here no hesitation. Very curious about their chicken sandwiches and melt sandwiches as I'm sure it's delicious considering how everything we tried was bomb dot com. read more
Thank you Yelp OC and The Melt for this amazing experience! The Melt located on the new side of Brea Mall with lots of seatings and amazing vibe for dine in and take out. I got myself the original burger with double patty, as well as a side of mini Mac n cheese. The burger was HUGEEEEE and heavy!! The meat was cooked perfectly and super juicy. I opted for all the freebies topping in my burger. The side of Mac n cheese is delicious and cheesy. I wish the sauce is a bit more flavorful. I got mine for take out to enjoy at home, but I def would love to comeback and sit down with my family next time. I also would want to try their fries next time, as they look yummy! read more
Thank you OC Yelp for an awesome Elite event that allowed us to try a new spot! The Melt was a family hit. My husband got the regular burger, I got a mushroom burger with an impossible patty, and my daughter got the tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons. Everybody loved their meal, even my daughter, who is the hardest to please, said her soup was delicious! We also ordered garlic fries. Such a generous portion for $5 and so frigginn good. The staff also came around with cookie samples, which were honestly so good. Crispy on the edges, soft on the inside. Will be coming again! read more
We had a great burger & fries dinner date at The Melt in Brea - thanks to YelpOC. Fantastic location across from Lululemon and the future spot of Din Tai Fung at the "re-energized" Brea Mall. My hubs double-fisted his double melt smash burger oozing with cheese and I easily inhaled my deeeelicious shroom and Swiss burger! Generous, THICK Wagyu + toasty pretzel kinda brioche with a hint of jalapeño - it was very tasty! Shared a cheddar bacon ranch fries for good measure and all chased down by their craft soda - Alameda rootbeer. Burppp Will bring the family back for another round of yummy treats at Melt and try the chicken sandwiches next! Fast service and impressive volume of pickup orders. read more

I'm waiting in line and everything looks so drool worthy! I'm ordering the mushroom Swiss burger! I'm also going to do a side of garlic fries. I've been telling everybody about it so I hope it measures up. I'm sure it will. I will post a picture after I get my meal. It's quite busy I shouldn't have waited till Friday evening but it's OK. I'm ordering now from the kiosk. The staff is very helpful but busy, Mason was friendly and helpful. I'm going to take my shroom burger and garlic fries home to eat! Thank you, Yelp and Hayley for the opportunity to try this place. I love what they're doing to the Brea mall. I can't believe all the construction going on up here, please advise people that it's a little bit more difficult to find, enter by Nordstrom not Macy's. ;) After getting home and diving into what was left over of my burger and fries, I would like to add that the fries I loved because they're so full of garlic and I am a huge fan of garlic and they also have Parmesan. There are so many things that look really good here that I want to try so I will be back but meanwhile, my Shroom and Swiss burger was amazing! Thank you Yelp Orange County for another great Yelp Elite experience! I came on a Thursday evening and there was no line, which was a nice surprise. There were a few people sitting both inside and outside, and since the weather was so nice, we decided to sit outside. I ordered the original melt burger and upgraded it to a double, along with a side of fries. The burger was super juicy and tasted like really high-quality meat. I especially loved the jalapeños in the cheese sauce--they added the perfect kick and crunch. I forgot to add lettuce and tomato this time, but I'll definitely be doing that next time. I might also stick with a single patty since the double was pretty filling and I couldn't finish it. The fries were also really good--thin, crispy on the outside, but still soft and fluffy on the inside. I got a side of ranch, which was delicious, and I especially loved the pickle that came on the side. Overall, such a solid experience--I'll definitely be back! read more
If you guys couldve seen my cheese pull...it was amazing! Something I never truly get from other burgers. This is some quality burger, and if you blindfolded me this burger would probably be the highest rating in fast food burgers! The Melt being all natural probably makes it the healthiest thing I've eaten this year. Alarming? Yes, but after eating here I wont feel as guilty. And I know it was all natural as I am lactose and well the cheese and milkshake hit me a few hours later. But it's ok it makes me skinnyyy! The service was impeccable, the knowledge these workers have on their menu is crazy, and burger customizability is endless! I unfortunately didnt get the names of the people who helped me but they were probably the nicest people Ive met, unbelievably helpful. This place is no joke. I was so surprised by the quality and taste of my food. The menu has a decent range of items to choose from, and the prices are pretty reasonable. My burger was extremely juicy, and the fries were insanely crispy with amazing flavor. *BBQ Bacon: 9/10 - tasty and well-cooked * Garlic Parmesan Fries: 10/10 - would come back just for the fries alone The interior was pretty spacious, and they offered plenty of seating. It's one of the few places where you can find shops on the outskirts of the mall, but it's still easy to find. It's very close to the parking structure, so I recommend parking there. This is probably one of the only Yelp events that I've been invited to that I would actually return to on my own. Can't wait to come back and try their other items! The ambiance here is amazing, they have an inside and outside seating area. The outside area is shaded and they have heaters for when it's a cool evening or winter time. I love that they have signage emphasizing that they are all natural and use no artificial ingredients. Their beef is fresh premium 100% angus and wagyu beef. The staff is very friendly, they give you buzzers when your food is ready & there's also a digital order screen to show when orders are done. Let's discuss the fresh and hot food! I got the Original Double Meltburger with regular fries. They were not kidding when they said it was 2/3lbs of beef because my burger was massive. Normally I can finish a burger easily but this one had me defeated! It was hot, gooey from the cheese and packed a wonderful crunchy bite with their fresh chopped pickle - pepper mix. My husband had the Patty Melt and he added bacon to it plus a side of sweet potato fries. The Patty Melt was delectable, full of flavor and buttery in every bite. The sweet potato fries were crisp but still had the softness you need for sweet potato fries. A bonus, they use Alameda Sodas, which is craft sodas made with real cane sugar, no high fructose, no fake flavors and no fake colors! Overall we really love this location and can't wait to return! Thanks to The Melt and @yelpoc for a fabulous Yelp Elite event. I had a delicious lunch of a BBQ bacon burger which I added jalapeños to. Thankfully, they were raw fresh jalapeños and not the pickled kind (which I am not a fan of). The burger had nice crispy edges without being a "smash burger" and was cooked a perfect medium pink in the middle. The bun was nice and soft and the meat itself was well seasoned. I ordered a side of garlic parm fries which were fried to ALMOST perfection. Would have been "perfection" in my eyes and my mouth if they would have been slightly crispier. But nice garlic flavor without being overly greasy. Loved the craft sodas; especially the option of ginger beer. Which had a really nice "bite" to it. The only "down" side was the ketchup out of the dispenser was super watery. But luckily, there were "to go" packages of ketchup by the cup lids. So that saved it. Only real "down side" is there's no close parking and because it's in the newer part of the Brea Mall where a lot of construction is still happening, it was a bit hard to find, then was a pain to navigate all of the construction traffic. 3-30-2026 First of all, the new construction they've done to the Brea Mall is stunning. Like others said, it looks super clean, modern, and sleek. They have a huge sign you can't miss, with 4 kiosks at the front once you enter. They have plenty of indoor/outdoor seating, and customer service was pretty prompt. I arrived about a quarter before 5 PM, and it wasn't too busy. It's a very relaxed atmosphere here, and I appreciate the high ceiling. It feels very spacious and welcoming. It also looks like they are open pretty late, particularly on the weekends. I ordered the spicy mission melt burger and sweet potato fries, and was looking forward to this so much. Unfortunately, I think they were a bit rushed, and my burger was slightly undercooked. But, it was still tasty. The jalapeños added a little kick, but not that spicy. If you're not using utensils, prepare to get your hands dirty. The fillings kept falling out, but the sweet potato fries were the highlight. Plus, they added a spear pickle on the side, which had that pleasant snappy/sour flavor. Great service, first of all! They were very helpful and friendly. Answered all my questions and helped me quickly. I went with the original burger, sweet potato fries and cookies & cream shake. I opted for the jalapeño pickles on the side cause I'm not into super spicy toppings. Burger-Delicious! Juicy! Great seasoning and cook. Good amount of cheese and sauce. The sauce was a mustard forward sauce. Reminded me of another fave spot in Santa Ana. Sweet potato fries-nice and crispy! C&C Shake- SO GOOD! This might have been my fave of all or maybe I just had a big sweet tooth at the time. I really want to come back in and try the crispy chicken sandwich and the garlic fries. They have a lot of options on the menu and a ton of dining space. This whole area is going to be great once it's completely open! read more
Thank you to The Melt and the Yelp OC team for a great experience! It was a tough decision as everything on their menu sounded yummy, but I decided to get the Patty Melt along with an order of their Sweet Potato Fries and their Parmesan Garlic Fries. The food came out in a timely manner and everything was delicious. The bread of the patty melt was buttery and crisp, the patty was juicy and tender, and I loved all the caramelized onions on the sandwich. Both orders of fries were generously portioned and I loved all the garlicky goodness of the Parmesan Garlic Fries. There are a handful of kiosks to order from in addition to the counter. I ordered at the counter and really appreciated the friendly service of the staff. One of the staff members even checked in on us a couple times while we were eating too which was a nice and unexpected touch for a fast casual restaurant. Both indoor and covered outdoor seating is available and the restaurant felt clean and modern. I definitely will be back to try more items on their menu. read more
I've seen the place while exploring what Brea Mall has been doing with the old Sears property, and finally had an opportunity to visit The Melt (thanks to Yelp and The Melt, of course). And I'm so glad I did, because it's really good! I checked out the menu online, so I knew what I was going to order before I got there. My lunch partner didn't know anything about the place, but they had physical menus right as you enter, so you don't have to crane your neck to look up behind the counter. It wasn't very busy when we were there, so ordering was easy. I noticed right away they had a unique brand (Alameda) for fountain beverages, so don't expect to see Coke or Pepsi. One thing about looking at the menu ahead of time is understanding the options: basically, if they have the ingredients, they'll do almost whatever you want. I ordered the Three Cheese Classic with grilled chicken. My partner ordered The Melt Burger. We each got a fountain drink and a side of regular fries. They give you a pager to let you know when the food is ready, which is great, since they have both indoor and outdoor seating. We waited about 5-6 minutes before our pager went off. It looks like the kitchen set off the pager while they were just placing the food on the table to be picked up by the front-of-house person and put on the counter. I like it a lot, so you know you're picking up the food hot, and it hasn't been sitting there for a few minutes. Looking at our food, we know why this place is called The Melt. Cheese dripped off both our sandwiches. From the first bites, we were both impressed. The blend of cheeses on my sandwich was perfect, and there was grilled chicken in every bite. My friend loved the hamburger, commenting on how juicy it was. He said it was much better than the two other California fast-food burger places we all know and love. Our only mistake was not getting enough napkins the first time. Anything with that much cheese means your hands will get a little greasy. The russet potatoes sprinkled with fire were excellent, with the perfect amount of seasoning. While we were eating, they came around with 1/4 size chocolate chip cookies to sample. While I don't need the sweets, they sure topped off a great meal. The sandwich was heavy enough that I took half of it home, and they were happy to give me a to-go box. I've now had the 2nd half and can tell you it's microwaves just fine. We usually eat in the food court when shopping at the Brea Mall, but this place might just be our new main dining spot. read more
Omg. My BBQ BACON DOUBLE PATTY BURGER was amazing. I got the sauce on the side due to not liking burgers that are heavily sauced. The sauce was not overwhelming and not too sweet. The patty was a large lightly smashed but fairly thick 2/3 lb angus/wagyu beef. One patty would have been enough The cheddar cheese was very gooey and the burger was quite a yummy mess. The bun was like an egg bun and was nice and soft. The garlic Parmesan fries were REALLY tasty. Fresh garlic mixed in and shredded Parmesan on top. It couldn't have been better IMO. Ordering is at the counter and they give you a buzzer when your foods ready. Theres Indoor and Outdoor seating so you can bring your dogs! Last but not least, the employees there were all so friendly and nice. From ordering to customer service One of the girls came around and handed out their chocolate chip cookie samples to try. They were very chocolatey and crispy on the outside but soft and tender on the inside! Can't wait to return! read more
Staff was friendly and helpful in suggesting what to try. I decided to try a little bit of everything, so added some extra items to my order, such as the mushroom burger, Mac and cheese, egg grilled cheese style sandwich, shake and fries. I would definitely order the mushroom burger again, flavorful beef patty, melted cheese, mushroom stacked in between. This was the highlight of my meal. One thing to note is to try the food as soon as it's prepared. Once you let it cooled off, it's just not the same anymore. Like the egg sandwich, bread got a bit dry and not gooey cheese anymore. The Mac and cheese was yummy when it was fresh, but later on, it's not the same. So if you decide to come back, I would recommend eating it there or as soon as you get home. Place is super clean and modern, good place for a quick date, lunch meeting, at the end of the new construction area of Brea Mall. I came to The Melt for a Yelp Elite event, and it was actually my first Yelp event, so I just want to say thank you to Hayley and The Melt staff for putting together such a fun event! Since it was also my first time trying The Melt, I let the girl at the counter know and asked for some recommendations. She was super helpful and steered me in the right direction. I ended up trying the steak and cheese, and wow... it was so good. The sourdough bread alone was super flavorful, and the meat with the bell peppers, onions, and jalapeños all went so well together. Everything was perfectly seasoned and made for a really delicious sandwich. She also recommended the cheese bacon fries, and I'm glad she did because they were sooo good. My fries were nice and crispy, and the cheese, ranch, and bacon all complemented each other really well. I also purchased a strawberry lemonade, and honestly one of the best parts was that it had actual strawberries in the drink, which I loved. Overall, I had a really great first experience here, and I will 100% be back for more. read more

The Melt is located on the new promenade side of the mall! I have never been to this area so it's looking quite nice and more reno to come! When you go in, it feels like another large burger joint. You get to mix and match what you want for up to $20. Of course since they're known for the angus and wagyu burgers, I had to get one. I ordered the spicy mission burger without the jalapenos, which has avocado, lettuce, cheese, beef patty, and a spicy sauce. The sauce was like a sriracha aioli and this was so good! I devoured it. The caesar salad is pretty standard but not too many croutons. Their croutons were like grilled cheese sandwich chopped up. Would definitely come back for a burger or sandwich! Thank you Hayley, Yelp, and The Melt for having us try out this spot! Will definitely be coming back in the future for a solid burger! First time here and the service was top notched! I had ordered the Swiss and shroom burger, the classic crispy chicken sandwich, and fries. With the discount I only paid like 9 dollars more which was a good deal. Everyone was friendly and they even help me take the food to the table. We also got a free sample of their chocolate chip cookie. Swiss & shroom - very delicious. Good flavor and not too salty. Wished there was more mushroom though. Classic crispy chicken - also delicious. Chicken was very juicy and batter outside was crispy. Fries - also delicious. Every piece was crispy just the way we like it I would definitely come back to try there other menu items. Thank you yelp! read more
Located in the outdoor area at Brea Mall, this restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I tried the spicy chicken sandwich, mac & cheese, and fries. The chicken was juicy and the sandwich was good overall, though I personally would have liked more veggies in it. The mac & cheese was good. The fries were a bit salty for my taste. Got some delicious food to go from The Melt for a late night meal! The cashier was kind and patient and took the time to explain some of the highlights of each type of food group. Upon ordering, the food was ready in ~5 minutes. Place was very clean. I thought the three cheese classic paired with the tomato soup was delicious. The grilled cheese had just the right amount of crunch and just the right bread to cheese ratio. I enjoyed the creaminess and sweetness balance of the soup. I thought the cheesy croutons of the caesar salad was also a nice touch, although I typically prefer croutons to be a bit crunchier. With the construction around Brea Mall, it was a bit confusing to find the place, and parking by the actual spot was limited, but otherwise this was a very pleasant experience! read more
Checking in for my very first Yelp elite experience. Grateful to be a part of this great community. Arrived here around lunchtime and it was not busy. The restaurant was clean and neatly organized. I was greeted by a friendly staffer and manager. I appreciated the helpful recommendations provided about the menu items and ordered the classic melt burger, sweet potato fries and a fountain drink. I brought a friend who also ordered the Cobb salad. All the food was fresh and well prepared. My favorite was the melt burger but everything tasted very good. I will definitely be bringing more friends here in the near future for a bite to eat and a shopping trip at the mall next door. read more

This redeveloped area at Brea Mall is so nice. This event not only encouraged me to try The Melt for the first time but also provided an opportunity to appreciate this new outdoor area at Brea Mall. Self-parking is available right in front of The Melt, but spots are limited. They also offer a service for valet parking. For the Yelp event, The Melt offers $20 off your order. I ordered the BBQ Bacon Meltburger and the Cheddar Bacon Ranch Fries. Very satisfying meal and great Yelp experience! read more
Thank you OC Yelp for this elite experience! Located in the newer additions at Brea Mall. Plenty of parking, but very busy area, as expected. I walked in and was greeted, the cashier was friendly and pleasant, but didn't seem to know how to apply the discount provided for the experience. I got a $20 credit, which basically purchased a meal: sandwich, fries and a drink. I also purchased an extra burger for my husband and a cookies and cream milkshake for my kid. My buzzer went off and I picked up my order at the counter, the cashier gave my order to someone else, and ended up bringing it back, he also almost forgot about the milkshake, so he made it as I was at the counter. The manager on duty seemed annoyed. I got the avocado BLT which was really good. They add jalapeños which i actually really enjoyed. Gives it a little extra kick. The fries were flavorful too. They have craft soda machines, I didn't love it, but I noticed they also sell canned Coke products, and I would opt for that if I came back. My husband said his burger was delicious. The milkshake was not good at all. I thought my kid was exaggerating, but then I tried it and it had a strange, almost plastic like aftertaste. I ended up returning it, so minus one star for the shake. Aside from that, the food itself was good. read more

Also ordered the garlic Parmesan fries, pleasantly surprised by the size and amount of toppings on it, super fragrant and garlicky *chefs kiss* finished off with a mini side of Mac and cheese, it was ooey gooey good, perfectly moist and saucy and not dry at all. Thank you Yelp OC for this great opportunity to try new foods and find new locations! Brea Mall is currently under some major construction, but if you are here for food - there are some parking spots specifically for pick-up. Otherwise, you can go to the parking structure! This The Melt location is a sweet addition to the plaza - it is tucked into a little nook with welcoming seating inside and out. I ordered the Garlic Fries and the MeltBurger. The portions were huge and well-seasoned! I would love to come back and try another burger. Great experience overall! read more
What a delicious Yelp giveaway and big thanks to The Melt, Hayley, Yelp, and the Academy for letting me experience a new spot in Brea Mall. We ordered a double Shroom burger with fries and everything was well seasoned and cooked well. I like my burgers a bit more rare and the only thing I would change is if The Melt would allow for less done-ness. Otherwise we really enjoyed the juicy burger and generous portion of melty cheese. Big thanks to Charles who helped us with the order and was friendly and helpful in answering all our burger related questions. Will definitely return for a visit here- the menu looked quite expansive and there are other options to try out. read more
Overall experience was great! The staff was nice and definitely worked hard to get every order in and out in a very swift way. I parked at the Nordstrom lot walked in and got my food within 10 mins! Had it fresh and it was very yummy! Definitely full and garlic parm fries is a must! I like the new area of the mall so it was overall a nice Friday night at a good new spot! read more
