My 2 floor home elevator was getting stuck on the way down, so I contacted Elevator Lift Systems to have a look. They said that old gasket material was floating around in the hydraulic ram and blocking the decent switch. They added that parts were not available due to the age of my system so repairs were out of the question. They recommended that I purchase their replacement elevator system for $37,000.00. I did some further checking and came across another company called Advanced Lift Solutions. Their tech came out and told me the problem was a failed rubber washer about the size of a nickel, and it was completely replaceable. This part was installed today at a cost of $420.00. Advanced Elevator Systems is now maintaining my system and they will be the only provider i contact when my system eventually wears out. The current building boom is allowing contractors to behave any way they want with no thought to the consumer. The next recession will bring them back to earth. I can't wait. read more

Buyer Beware! They almost got away with scamming my 90 yr. old mother into an elevator that they had drastically overpriced. When we became aware of the situation and before the elevator was ordered we kindly asked for our money back and they refused. Drastically overpriced. They did an "annual checkup" for our 5 year old elevator, which was in good operating condition. Technician spent about 20 minutes checking it out. It runs between two floors only. They charged us $270, about double the rate from competitors. This correlates to about $500-$1000 per hour. (which suggests $1,000,000 - 2,000,000 per year per technician). They tried to justify the price because the technician was "certified". Shameful. Will never use them again, nor will we ever recommend them. read more
