I am so happy with my decision on living in this particular building. It's always scary picking the right complex, I mean this is your home, it should come with a feeling of hope for the best and knowing it might not be what you want. I have lived here since august or September some time but I work from home and literally spend most of my time here. Nobody bothers you, building is alway clean, location is the best. & the staff is incredibly sweet, all of them. The yoga sessions , the Friday night wine & bath bombs, the food trucks.. What a strange experience. Nice place, great floorplan. I applied with female leasing agent. Submitted my background for screening. I have income in cash/checks that I often cash in put in my safe deposit box. I also have about 2k in direct deposit. I was turned down inpersonably with a pre written e-mail denial a half hour after I called to check in. No word on the phone. 6pm comes, they close and i get my denial form letter. They knew when I called and were bok-bok chicken to inform me professionally. The young female agent was informative and was pleasant on my initial interactions.My final sit down upon a second app was met by an aloofness that somehow manifested itself. WEIRD. Nice complex and I had intentions of moving in to about a $2500 apartment which I can afford on about 200k income that does not appear on the bank account I reluctantly gave them. I could of brought my lil safe with about 25k in it from my closet but I did not. Male lead guy was a true pro and female when from warm to icy. I found a similar place and all is good. Having lived on the property two separate times now, I can say this apartment is nothing short of disappointing. It's labeled as luxury, but the cleanliness, professionalism, and luxury end after the lobby. As far as the physical building, the front gate is broken every other week, leading the apartment to open the back gate which allows anyone in without a key (completely erasing the security of the building). I've attached pictures of pet waste and human trash left in the common areas of the apartment for reference. Please note, I took these pictures several days after first seeing the waste but management didn't care to send maintenance to clean. As far as the professionalism, the staff is not available to help with any true tenant matters such as the resident app not working or tenants harassing other tenants. I've experienced both issues numerous times, and it was left to me to find where the tenant lived and confront them on their behavior. There is no consistency on when rent is taken from your account DESPITE using auto-pay. Most times, rent is pulled from our account 12-14 days after the due date. There are plenty of true luxury apartments in Phoenix, please look for others and avoid the mess. Especially as a woman, I do not feel safe here because of the staff's negligence. read more

I hate to be writing this review because this is my home and I had hoped to stay here for a long time, but I have given Pillar and Elevation 11.5 weeks to make things right after my move in. I am now on my fourth washing machine, which is obviously ludicrous (but not to Pillar), all of which had leaks or were broken or improperly installed, without so much as an apology or acknowledgement that they need to address this. They have gotten defensive instead and thrown their hands up and shrugged me off. I had to beg that a third party fix washer #4, which they begrudgingly agreed to. My dryer vent was never attached, and lint was all over the laundry room, which was also only caught by the third party at washer install #3 after 2.5 mos. On top of that, I had no hot water for 3 days after I moved in, and when my shower was "repaired", the hot and cold were reversed and the handle wasn't attached. I only got it correctly fixed 2 weeks ago. The hot water on my washer was never turned on until a few weeks ago when a third party caught it. My dishwasher does not seal properly and leaks. My microwave motor is busted. I had rusting dishwasher racks with exposed metal, and I was told that is normal by three different people. I had to beg to get just one of them replaced. A maintenance man totally bugged out in my apartment, perhaps intoxicated on something, during washer replacement #3 and left the washer in the hallway (that another resident moved after an hour), and in my apartment, but Katie in district management immediately, within the hour of the incident and without speaking to me, determined there wasn't an issue. I put in a police report, just in case, since I have NO idea what happened or if it has been addressed or if someone might come retaliate. And at no point during these 11.5 weeks has anyone sincerely and genuinely apologized and admitted they dropped balls. I have found the apathy, annoyance and defensiveness by management to be the worst part about all of this. No one has any idea how we got to this place or why my apt was so un-ready for move in, nor do they care. They have told me this is an isolated incident, they don't have any concerns, and nothing needs to change on their end. That leaves me feeling unsafe and unsettled, as it should for every current and future resident. How many other washers are leaking? Or dryer vents aren't attached? Or what appliance has an electrical issue that has never been inspected? And that apathetic and passive management and maintenance is what you will experience moving in here. This is all basic stuff that should have been caught before move in and it has been way too difficult to get resolved. Pillar has dismissed me as an annoying resident, but there is no excuse for 4 washing machines or unresolved work orders nearly 3 months into a lease. And I will keep following up and being "annoying" by asking for working appliances and for my repairs to be completed properly and professionally. Maintenance has been in my apt no less than 20 times in less than 3 mos. I had huge hopes for not being in a Greystone or other massive mgmt co, but at least they have certain basic living standards and procedures (such as working appliances and people who can fix things properly and in one go). I would not suggest moving in here unless you want to risk this experience. It has been totally unnecessary, stressful, and is all basic stuff that should have been resolved within the two-week Pillar Promise that guarantees satisfaction. I was impressed that they would stand so strongly and proudly behind their apartment. But they didn't consider that it might take more than three months and four washers and 20+ service visits to decide I am unsatisfied at this point. read more

So let me start from the beginning here.....upon our arrival we pulled into the parking structure attached to this building which is a great touch because you can park on any level and walk right into the hallway of your floor. The building has 4 floors......made of Brick and Stucco on the outside but I was told by the General Manager that the apartments are framed structures though. Now what all of that means is that there may be a little bit of noise so she suggested renting on the Higher floors to guarantee yourself some quiet. Now here are the PROS and CONS for this Apartment Complex PROS: Awesome Lounge Area (outdoor Community lounges on every floor) Awesome Pool Area.....I mean absolutely BREATHTAKING Awesome Cabanas Spacious Gym Wonderful Parking Structure (Secured parking) Ample Lightning throughout the property Nice seating area near your mailboxes to sit and look through your mail Awesome BBQ and Dining area out near the pool The Apartments are very spacious.....even though we didn't get to see the Studio Apts. 9 to 12 foot ceilings......WOW!!!!! Spacious Hallways The LEASING OFFICE was OFF THE CHAIN people!!!!!! Pretty good balconies.....not great.....but very good. 2 blocks from the Lightrail and there is a Bus Stop right out in front of the property. Restaurants......Shopping......and Entertainment all within walking distance Brick and Morter building along with a touch of stucco.....best I could tell.....really makes the building pop. CONS: Balconies could be a little better The Guest Bathrooms leading off of the Kitchen I am not a big fan of.....LOL!!!!! I had no problem with the Bedroom Bathrooms though. No Peep Holes......and I don't understand why since everyone shares a hallway No Clear signs for Evacuation in case of a Fire We had some security concerns because the building is located off of a busy street No signs of any security or courtesy patrol for the building Now don't take the CONS to seriously.....the place is new so they may still be adding those additions to the building.....I didn't ask.....FULL DISCLOSURE. I love the place overall and if you decide to take a tour of the place talk to Kristin, (General Manager), Lindsey or any of the leasing staff there.....they are wonderful people. The apartments range in size from 598 sq ft. up to 1055 sq ft. and they range in price monthly from $955 up to $1895. So let me offer this little tidbit in conclusion....if you ANTI SOCIAL.....a retiree......or a senior citizen......NO OFFENSE WHATSOEVER.....LOL!!!!! this place MAY NOT be for you. I say that because between the pool area.....the community lounge area......the outdoor cabanas and BBQ area......along with the awesome outdoor community lounges I mentioned earlier on each floor this complex screams SOCIAL interaction. So if your looking to move into the Central Phoenix area.....have access to the light rail and Buses right outside your door......restaurants......shopping......and great views of the city look no further than Elevation on Central. Unless you enjoy the constant smell of piss anywhere you go, passive aggressive office staff, the fire alarms going off randomly, getting your car broken into, people blasting music in the pool at 2am, and a $2000 bill when you leave your apartment spotless on move out. . Oh and your fan will be replaced atleast twice because the internals fall apart, your AC will stop working constantly, zero water pressure, and the rudest neighbors you can ask for that fill the hallways with the smell of weed and trash. . The apartment is great, don't think I will live anywhere else as beautiful! The maintenance staff is amazing and always gets things fixed within 1-2 days. This isn't really the apartments fault, but more so just an FYI that if you live here and you care about your car do NOT park on the street. Parking on highland is much more convenient to get to my apt than if I park in the garage, but my car has been hit 6 different times. Last night someone hit the entire bumper of my car and did not leave a note or notify me. I understand this isn't really something the apartment can control, but I will be parking in the parking garage from now on. One other thing, I was told my base rent would be 1350, but I'm paying close to 1600 every month for a 1BR. I figured with cox & aps it would be about 100-150 more a month, but I do think that difference is pretty significant and would want others to know. Even with the amount I'm paying, I do think its almost worth it for the location and how beautiful everything is here. Other than those two things, the apartment and staff are amazing! read more

We'd like to start this by saying that we were residents of Elevation on Central in Central Phoenix for over 2 years. The reason for the 2 stars is that with some change in management and office staff (the RIGHT staff), the experience can likely be turned back around to what it was when we first moved in. We picked this property initially over all other properties in the area because of the amenities, management, friendliness, and so much more. Up until this past fall (about the September timeframe) things were GREAT! It was genuinely a happy, enjoyable place to live. Even despite having all amenities taken away from us during COVID, and still having to pay for them, which was beyond unreal to be honest, we enjoyed living in this property. Things began to go downhill this past fall at a pretty rapid pace. Everything from the turf where dogs would go potty, smelling up the entire property without being cleaned for days (and even weeks) on end, to burglaries happening on property with no notification to residents, to residents consistently smoking weed in public places causing our unit to reek of it, just to name a few things (all sounds like things you should be dealing with in a high-end apartment complex, right?). And the worst, the treatment of residents from the office staff became beyond appalling. Being unfriendly and moody doesn't even begin to describe the experiences. And we should note the was NOT the experience we were getting pre-September. In fact, the staff was ALL amazing. Fast forward, the staff and new manager would almost go out of their way to be flat out rude. From not making eye contact with residents when walking by them in the hallway to very rudely being asked to leave the pool within 20 minutes of arriving because there was a 2-hour limit (to those of us that actually always followed their rules). On several occasions we had to argue that we, in fact, had NOT been there past their 2-hour limit and had just arrived. The rudeness from the manager and staff was so outrageous with this we got to the point where we decided it would be better to simply refrain from using our amenities because it wasn't worth the harassment. Is it really that hard to be kind? I guess with this current staff it is. And something VERY specific to us was the handling of our dog being attacked on the property. Besides the emergency surgery and the hefty vet bill we were left with, we still battle the anxiety he has. What did the office do? Nothing. This was a dog that lives on the property and absolutely nothing was done to attempt to locate the dog that did this (not to mention this says a lot about how well they know their residents... they had NO idea who had a dog like the one we described that did this). So I suppose if you live like a hermit and don't want to be seen, this place is for you. Writing this as we leaves is very disheartening because for the first year and a half we lived there it was great. Management was great, all staff was great, the experience was great, issues were dealt with, residents were communicated to, and so so so much more (in fact it's as though they did go above and beyond for residents). This current manager and her office staff and the experience they are creating, we wouldn't recommend to anyone (unless seriously you just want to find a place you can overpay for, never leave your unit to see, hear, smell, deal with anything, never want to interact with anyone, and you don't care about anything, this is probably a great place for you). Something changed back in the September timeframe and it's truly unfortunate. With the downhill fall of this property, management and the office staff we were experiencing ever since September we knew we'd be leaving this property; however, just 6 months prior to us moving out, we genuinely thought for sure we could call Elevation home for some time. My husband and I have lived here for 2 years now and we absolutely LOVE it!! First off, the amenities make it feel like we are living in a resort. The pool is absolutely stunning and always clean. The gym is large enough that it never feels too crowded and there is plenty of equipment for whatever type of workout you're looking to do. We also love the rooftop deck with a stunning view of downtown Phoenix. The staff at Elevation on Central is one of the biggest perks of living here. Received an invite from my cousin who was invited to one of the beautiful events for Elite members of Yelp! I parked in the attached parking garage and it was a really convenient walk to the front of the building. Plenty of parking in the garage and everywhere around the building. You can enter the building from he garage as well. The building is absolutely gorgeous! Very quaint and modern! The pool area is in the middle of the property with plenty of seating areas and cabanas! We were able to take a look at a couple of the units and I must say it's absolutely breath taking! The 2 Bed/2 bath unit has a walk in closet in both rooms and big beautiful bathrooms! A gorgeous island in middle of the kitchen which overlooks the living room! If you're looking for a place to live near downtown or midtown.... This is definitely worth taking a peek at! I included a couple pictures of thx event! Where do I begin? Let's start with my car being stolen out of the "secured" garage. Yes, my entire car was stolen and driven out of the "secured" garage at around 2am (about 7 months ago). Managements first words to me when I reported the incident "Was your car locked?" They showed no empathy or sympathy for my situation at all. Now let's address they apartment management approach to "follow-through". A couple months ago, management sent out letters defining the rules for the trash valet. If the resident left their trash cans out after a certain time or put their trash out before a certain time... the resident would incur fines. The trash also had to be in the approved trash receptacle. Today, I walked out of my apartment on the north side of the building and walked to the front office. In that short walk, I seen 4 apartments that had trash bags (no receptacle) sitting outside their door. It was only 1230pm. The trash room is horrendous. Garbage everywhere, old carpet, a big brown chair stacked up against one of the garbage shoot doors, and old boxes stacked halfway up the wall. I could only get to one of the garbage shoot doors. I live right beside of the garbage shoot and for the last couple of weeks, the smell has been atrocious. I feel like I'm living at a garbage dump. Now, let's address the fact that my shower has. It been working in over two weeks. Luckily, I have two bathrooms so all of us are sharing one shower which is not practical. I put in a requests and management tells us that the part is not in yet. WHAT????? So then there's the outside area. Let me paint you a picture... you go outside to enjoy some fresh air and the scenery of the outdoor common areas. As you open the door to go outside, you get hit with the permeating smell of animal feces and urine. The fake grass outside is drenched with animal urine that it overpowers any hope you to be able to stop and smell the daisies. With a couple more steps... your shoe is not engulfed in animal feces. So now, you go back up to your apartment just so you can smell the wonderful aroma of the garbage dump, which is better than smelling two week old urine. Oh the community pool.... nice, relaxing, comfy. That is until I ran into a member of the management team on July 4th and said "I thought the office was closed today?" Wow... was that the wrong question for me to ask. The member of the management team proceed to yell and scold me in front of everyone at the pool. She shook her finger at me and postured her body in such a way that I felt very threatened by her. It was like something you would have seen on Jerry Springer. I reported the incident to her supervisor but nothing has been done. It's sad that I don't fell safe in my own home. There are not any yellow brick roads here.... the hallways are filled with garbage remnants and black soot from never being cleaned. I suppose that since the halls smell the way they do, the carpets should match the smell. I read the other reviews and I did not read anything that was not true. I don't want to repeat all of the other complaints, so please read the other reviews. Management did blame the residents for a women getting attacked in the complex. They did not address how they planned in making the residents safe, only told the residents what we needed to do. I feel the responsibility fall on all of us, not just the residents. My lease is up in January, and I will not be I renewing. If I could move today, I would. I cannot wait to be able to be happy to come home after a hard days work and feel safe and secure. read more

I love living at Elevation on Central. I have been here almost 3 years. The office staff is awesome! Always kind and helpful. Maintenance responds right away, the grounds are clean and the complex is quiet and peaceful. The pool is aways sparkling clean. The tenants are respectful and I feel very safe here. !!AVOID IF YOU CARE ABOUT SECURITY FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR PROPERTY!! Lived in the apartment complex for two years, and originally thought that the only issue with this place was that the staff is incompetent - annoying but not a major issue. However, recently we've experienced and observed a bit of a crime spree. Both my motorcycle and my roommate's motorcycle have been stolen from the gated parking garage, within the span of a week's time. Apartment management refuse to do anything about it. Very conveniently for them, they told us that cameras in the parking garage were working but not recording. They refuse to inform other residents about these thefts and to warn them for their safety. They proceeded to give me a non-answer when asked for any form of help - "we have to ask corporate". We aren't allowed to post anything around the complex either, they could terminate our lease, quoting breach of contract. Not only do they refuse to help, they blatantly lied to our face and withheld information from the police (My roommate's bike was stolen the day after mine was reported and the front office didn't mention anything to the investigating officer) The front office is incompetent and lacks any sort of empathy or care for residents. They want to ensure none of the existing or prospective residents know about the lapse in security. We have now come to know that there have been multiple other instances of break-ins within their parking garage. I advise against this complex. Management does not care and is actively inhibiting the recovery of our property. read more

7 month update - as others have written, the management company who took over is not the same caliber as the previous team. As noted by others, the community portal page appears to be censored, We had a false fire alarm in December that required evacuation of the entire building. When the alarm was cleared we piled back in. However, no firefighter or any sort of official sent an 'all clear' - needless to say the lack of leadership was dangerous. I posted about this concern on the community portal - it is still pending....Posted in December.....I have sent Paul, the manager several emails which he did not respond to. :( The payment system on allow payments at the end of the month. I'd recommend that one be willing to take money all month long.... I posted this when the original management team was here: Update ... lived here for two months. Neighbors are quiet, the grounds are well kept. Staff is very kind and polite. One can make payments using their online system for no fee. Lived here for about 3 weeks. So far, all is well. Both service requests were responded to quickly, both with some quality concerns. Location is mostly secure, one can social engineer their way in. Boo. $20 per month gets your trash removed from your front door. Each residence comes with secured, designated parking. Pro tip - if one rents the one bedroom, be aware that the storage space in the unit is minimal. read more

I should preface this review with I've lived there twice so obviously its a decent place to live. I first moved into Elevation in 2017 and then lived there for another year from 2021 to 2022. This review is about the time from 2021-2022. Overall I will say this apartment complex was great, quiet for the most part, and never really had huge issues. Maintenance were awesome people and always nice. The apartment is in between the light rail stops at Camelback and Campbell (Campbell I feel is a little closer to walk to) and is near the canal if you want to go for walks/runs/jogs (probably not at night). I would say semi dog friendly in that a lot of people do have dogs there, but I wouldn't necessarily say the people without dogs are overly glad to have them there. There is no package concierge there which means that packages are dropped off at your door, which can be a good thing and bad thing. The pool area can be loud depending on who is using it and how many people they invite but in the year that I was there, there was only really 3 big "parties" in the pool going on and none lasted past 10. There were two times that someone in the complex were having ragers and one I would say was pretty irritating in that the walls were shaking with the music they put on and it was going into 2 am. The irritations/things I noticed/downsides are: 1) when we went to check out the apartments and see the model, the model's bedroom closet came with shelving built into the walls and the bathroom's countertop was the same color as the kitchen island countertop. That was not the same as our 1 bedroom. I was a little peeved by that as I had even made a comment when looking at the model that it would be nice to have the shelving as we only had one dresser. I was never corrected when I made that comment. 2) The person right above us had a washer leak. Luckily I was working from home as water started pouring out of our light fixtures in the kitchen. I had to go down to the office and say something, and they said they were already working on the neighbor upstairs which makes me concern that they weren't even going to check ours out if we hadn't said anything. What if we were out of town or even at work for the day. Luckily nothing drastic did happen to our apartment, but it did cause our lights to burn out constantly. Wasn't a big deal to us as maintenance was cool and eventually we were leaving. 3) Before we moved out, we rented a rug doctor and cleaned the carpet (which is only in the bedroom and max maybe 200-300 sq ft). We never once spilt anything on the carpet and really the coloring difference in the carpet was due to high traffic of going in and out of it. We were charged a $70 cleaning fee for the carpet. Its irritating in that I don't know what else we could have done to make the carpet not just normal wear and tear and do feel ripped off with that charge. My only suggest to people would be to not bother cleaning the carpet yourself and just be out $70 instead of $110 with the rug doctor. read more

I have currently lived here for the past year and a half and I love it. The resident events they host are fun and who doesn't love free food. I've also never had a negative experience with any of the staff members. From maintenance to leasing they always give a friendly genuine smile not just in the office but whenever our paths cross. Pool/spa area is beautiful and thoughtfully decorated. Someone parked in my spot before and Kami (property manager) took care of it immediately and I haven't had the issue since. read more

Elevation will not make any exceptions for me to get my stuff out during the COVID-19 outbreak. I am not feeling well and they will not extend my walkthrough, leaving me no choice but to go back to the unit to spread my germs and gather the rest of my things. During the outbreak, management approved a HUGE party at the pool. There was a DJ, 20+ people in speedos grinding on each other. It was so loud but nobody could do anything because "it was approved by management." You couldn't get ahold of anyone at the front office because they don't care about anything except "looking cool." Myself and other tenants were commenting on Facebook asking what was going on and expressing our concerns, the next day, the comments were deleted with no follow up, and no apology!!!! Also, the next day the apartment pool was CLOSED due to the virus and to prevent spread of COVID-19. Thanks for the possible infection to our community. I tried to get my floors replaced back in November, they kept stalling and stalling because they didn't have the right color tile to match. It wasn't until after I put my notice in NO to re-sign my lease, that they told me they had to wait until I moved out to assess the damages. Now that it is March, my move out date is here, and I am now going to be held liable for tile replacement during a pandemic that they won't even put off until it's over. I am disgusted at how this apartment staff handles ANYTHING. I even hired an attorney to help me because they took advantage of me in more ways than one. I feel personally attacked because of that, which is why I believe they are FORCING me to come back to the unit even though I am not feeling well to grab my last couple things. Just make sure you all wash your hands extra! With their inability to care about the basic health of their tenants by inviting me back over today, is absolutely a huge representation of their character! UPDATE: They told me they would let me have someone else get my things this weekend BUT I will be charged for the extra days. We are in the middle of a pandemic! I am not guaranteed even my job right now!! The last thing I can afford is paying rent at my new place and my old apartment!!!! Please keep in mind that the unit has not been rented out and they can't hire anyone to fix the floors right now, so there's NO REASON why they shouldn't be able to let me come at a later date when it is a safety concern for other tenants. this is a huge representation of their character!!! If you rent here after this pandemic is over, please keep in mind that they are only on your side when you are on the lease, but the MOMENT you don't resign, you absolutely do not matter anymore. I have been living here since Oct 2016 and so far I have had a terrible experience. Here is what I would like anyone to know before deciding to move here: 1. I am living on the 4th floor and my unit has a cricket issue. I have seen about 12 crickets in my apartment in the past 2 months and nothing has fixed the issue. They sent pest control several times and I have been using cricket traps but it looks like there is no solution to this. 2. Multiple cars have been broken into including my friend's. This is frustrating considering that the whole complex is monitored by cameras and almost every entrance requires a key to pass. 3. Maintenance sucks. I had them coming and fixing an issue with my bathroom sink and today I found out that they broke another part and the storage under the sink was flooded. 4. The apartment is cheaply made. Why you should look ELSEWHERE: - NOISE; walls are cheap (just like the entire apartments only to look upscale, but not) you can HEAR EVERYTHING from birds chirping in the morning, CHURCH BELLS EVERY HOUR ON THE HOUR, garbage truck picking up trash during the week, water running from top floor to bottom (you feel like your apartment is leaking from the noise), people talking in the hallway; windows suck you can HEAR EVERYTHING - SAFETY; A resident was recently sexually assaulted on the property and management informed us that the situation was an isolated event and to not worry... UM NO security was COMPROMISED on the interior portion of the property, lack of security on the property; they claim to have patrol on board, but I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE - GATE ISSUE; Both gates have been left opened and unattended due to malfunction for up to 5-6 days at a time, cars have been broken into, things have been stolen, stragglers wander the property (especially on the rooftop deck), NOT SAFE FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN OR IN GENERAL - PRICE is OUTRAGEOUS; The original owners (Greystar) I was paying $1450 (w/utilities), and NOW they have put so many LITTLE FEES that, quite honestly, make no sense, and am now pay a little under $1600 (w/utilities), DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, TIME, LOOK ELSEWHERE. DO NOT BE FOOLED with the exterior experience as I WAS, it is not what you think. - Office employees are nice, HOWEVER I feel like if you present a problem to them all they do is beat around the bush and respond with things you WANT to hear, but DO NOT REALLY TAKE ANY ACTION - ADVICE TO MANAGEMENT (PILLAR COMMUNITIES): We are paying GOLD for what on-site services and amenities we are getting, take the time to actually LISTEN to your residence and TAKE ACTION instead of giving us meaningless words with NO BODY, DEPTH or BACKBONE. I absolutely loved every minute of living here. It was always quiet and clean. Maintenance requests were handled immediately (not that I had many in over a year). The staff was always friendly w anything that I needed. This is my favorite place I've ever lived of MANY MANY and the only reason I'm leaving is Phoenix is too far away from work and my life in Scottsdale. I never experienced any of the issues that the others have complained about. read more

I just recently moved into a one bedroom apartment here at elevation on central. I had been searching for the perfect community for quite some time and when I toured elevations I knew this was the place for me! It is brand new and absolutely gorgeous for one! The leasing office staff is always helpful, happy, and accommodating to me and my family. The area around elevations is filled with locally known family owned restaurants, ice cream shops, and coffee shops. Lastly, and for most important i always feel safe in my apartment as well as in the parking garage area while walking to my place. All I can say is that I am beyond happy that I chose to live here! if you decide on elevation on central you won't be disappointed! update!!!! July 7th, 2017 i am updating my review because much has changed here at elevations after graystar sold to pillars. the management team is MUCH different than when i moved in, not for the better. i was not concerned with safety at all when i first moved in because i had never run into anyone or anything shady and things seemed to be secure. however, when i came into the building about 3 months ago and their was a poster posted on the doors notifying residents of an assault on property i was shocked! apparently, the intruder came in through a breeched exterior door. since then i have obviously been a lot more cautious and alert. the most recent scare happened about 4 weeks ago when my fiancé and i were approached in the parking garage by a man yelling at us to let him in the building. i hated to be the apartment police, but we didn't feel comfortable letting him in knowing that if he did really live here like he said he did, then he would know to go down to the leasing office and get a new key. it just didn't seem right so we told him we were sorry and to go down to the leasing office which he was NOT HAPPY about. we then got cussed at and flipped off as we exiting the parking garage and all the out onto highland as we tried to make a left onto camelback. i could not believe we were being verbally accosted in our own living space that we pay high dollar for. i then called elevations to let them know what had happened just in case the person was planning on repatriating and they didn't seem to care. after reading some of the other reviews, i cant help but to agree. it is really sad to read my previous review when i first moved in and see how i was obviously happy here. you would think pillars would care enough to fix the wrongs and help keep their residents feel safe and happy here. in the end, we are the ones who keep their units rented, yet they don't seem to care. UPDATE! august 14th, 2017 after taking about a month to tour and look around at the latest and greatest apartments in the central and downtown phoenix area, it became very clear that for the price, square footage, location, and amenities, elevations is definitely the best bang for your buck in this area. the more toward scottsdale you go, the more $$ you will pay for less. I know that in my last review i was very disappointed in the level of security at elevations, however, since touring many other communities and making security one of my main questions, it appears that every other community has the same level of security if not less than elevations has to offer. as far as square footage for base rent, elevations has the best deal including a private parking space that is no extra charge. I looked and looked long and hard trying to find something better but, truth being told, i couldn't justify all of the headaches of moving for something not significantly better. long story short, i have decided to stay at elevations and since then i feel great about my choice and could not be happier here! after lowering my stars to 3 star, i am bringing it back up to 4 star now. no community is perfect, but elevations is very good for price & location! read more

Pros: Close to restaurants Lovely grounds/ pool Cons: Safety- gates are easy to get through and there have been break-ins to apartments and cars, along with an assault. The break-ins are not isolated, one-off events, they're fairly regular occurrences, and management hasn't updated/ changed security (I've never actually seen the security company patrolling the grounds.) Traffic- Brophy/ Central High traffic is ridiculous- getting out of the garage on Highland is a nightmare Noise- I can hear everything my upstairs neighbor walking, showering, etc, and music/ tv travels well between my side neighbors as well Cleanliness- Residents must pay an additional $20 a month for valet trash, and people leave their trash cans outside at all hours. The hallway carpets are filthy, and the trash chutes are disgusting. For the money, I'd look elsewhere. I've lived here for over a year and cannot wait to leave. read more

I give Elevation on Central three stars strictly based on location and the floor plan of my apartment. Where this place fails is in quality and upkeep. I regrettably chose a first floor unit. The sound from the people above me is horrible and every time someone flushes a toilet it sounds like the building is going to come down around me. The property was sold a few months ago and it definitely is not the same. The former management staff was great and seemed to care more about the property. The carpets in the hallways are filthy from the trash pickup, the landscaping is looking pretty bad. For a high dollar "luxury" apartment community I am not impressed. Lease is almost up... no plans to renew. read more

My girlfriend and I have lived here the last year (in separate units) and have had an amazing experience. The apartments are spacious and modern. The courtyard is beautiful, and the pool has a nice amount of cabanas. Maintenance requests are fixed promptly, the gym is two floors and clean. The complex is VERY Dog friendly. From personal experience, the office is very understanding when it came to my dog adjusting in a new apartment despite a few noise complaints. Speaking of which, the girls at the leasing office are all lovely to work with. They are great at communicating, and I have especially enjoyed working with Kami and Andrea this last year. Kami has gone incredibly above and beyond as a property manager to work with me during my time at Elevations. And if all that isn't enough, the area is so much fun and convenient. I have been so happy here, and it has definitely raised the bar for my future apartments! read more

I love love love living here! The location is perfect, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the amenities are bar none! The pool is gorgeous and we love taking a dip on the weekends. The workout room is state of the art and there is a valet trash service that picks up my garbage right outside my door. We love picking up the fresh local eggs in the office and love enjoying walks down the canal in the evenings. We are so happy to a part of this great community! read more

I so tired of the places that spray all that awful synthetic fragrance inside their leasing offices, making it hard to even be in there for long. That stuff is toxic and to be avoided. Elevation sprays a lot of it. Once I got past that, I was taken on a quick tour. I was in a hurry so I did skip all the amenities part of it. I was there to look at a 2 bed, 1 bath. We walked all the way to the very end of the complex - this place is the hotel kind with no easy access to the outside. Seemed like a long walk. At first the apartment seemed nice, nothing too special, but this particular unit overlooked all the electrical boxes and such for the building. A really crappy view out of all the windows for over $1,200! Thank God I decided to open the blinds and check otherwise I would have been super upset after leasing and getting stuck. The sales guy tried to song and dance his way around the fact that this particular apartment was the worst they had to offer - I wasn't buying. No wonder it was available to rent. I decided to pass on this place entirely. read more

Elevator has been broken for over 48 hours !!!! After 14 hour shift I have to carry my 30lb almost 2 year old up to the top floor using the stairs !!!!!! Horrible place !!! Oh and just got my "utility" bill ... water is only 35 but after they add their 5 other fees such as an "admin fee" it is now 65 bucks ... so what does that mean ? Cons -lots of crime- bikes stolen on multiple occasions. security camera for bike room painted green -cars vandalized -cars have been stolen -theres always shady people who dont live here walking around and esp at the top of -the parking garage. highland is a shady street -people that dont live here steal amazon packages -garage is not made for 2 way traffic and you cannot see around the corner. everyone speeds and many times ive had to slam on my breaks and swerve and try not to hit the concrete wall -there is NO wifi in the gym and pool despite what the tell you -hallway carpet is disgusting and stained -you have to pay 2 trash fees. one to the city and one to valet trash. valet will not pick it up on the fri and sat when you produce the most trash. they also do not pick it up at the correct time sometimes they come early so you will miss it -$1200+ for a studio and you dont even get a storage closet. bedroom and bathroom have weird sliding doors and there is no window in the bedroom -lots of people break the 2 guest for resident rule so the pool is crowded -last summer the pool was steaming hot. they told me to wait until the fall to swim -the building was hastily made. paint chipped in the first week -the tap water is undrinkable. i used to live downtown and the quality of water was better -all of your dishes will be covered in minerals after you wash it even if you buy expensive stuff for shine -management censors the message board so know one knows whats going on anymore -the clubhouse is usually booked for a special event. every single time i wanted to watch tv there was a party and in the lease it says it cannot be booked for private use -cox did something weird with the building so if you dont pay for cable antennas will not work for regular tv like abc and nbc -management does not do anything about your complaints/suggestions read more

I have lived here for 10 months and I love it. I feel very safe here. The prior team was very nice but we had a lot of problems with the garage gate staying open for days. Paul and the new team are keeping it working 100 times better. They have increased security. It is located near downtown Phoenix so you have to be careful. I have never seen anyone trying to open doors as mentioned prior. I have to admit the carpets are bad and need replaced. You hear noises from people above you. Same as any apartment. It is still a nice looking apartment building and Paul has been great with any help you need. read more

ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE! The apartments are built so cheaply. For only the 3 months I lived there I had maintenance come almost every week fixing the tiniest things cause they were always breaking. Walls, doors, cabinets are SO thin. Can literally hear everything through the walls. Court yard always reeked like piss from the artificial grass. Pool only had sun for about an hour because the buildings block it all. Trash chutes were absolutely disgusting. Hallways always smelt horrific because of the "valet trash." Management completely took advantage of me and my roommate and charged us $4000 in fees for things we did not do. My advice is don't spend your money on these cheap apartments that have horrible management. You can use your money on something WAY better. But if you're trying to have the worst living experience possible and get completely taken advantage of, by all means come to elevation on central. If I could rate 0 stars I totally would. read more

This apartment complex is absolutely HORRIBLE. Management wise. There's so much crime that goes on here that the management just ignores and acts like doesn't happen but when it comes to hallways smelling like marijuana like every other hallway they will not hesitate to evict you even with a medical card. Also the neighbors here are absolutely stuck up and don't care about others peoples lives. We got a notice about smoking and stopped completely and then got an eviction notice on our door saying we have 10 days to move out due to marijuana smell. We called the leasing office and they said there is absolutely NOTHING they can do about it now. They say they are willing to work with people but then when it comes down to figuring out stuff they don't help what so ever and they are just complete assholes about everything. DO NOT LIVE HERE YOU WILL WITNESS A LOT OF CRIME AND WHO KNOWS YOU MIGHT GET EVICTED for marijuana smell because they THINK it's you. read more
