A very impressive little beer shop and definitely worth the stop. The selection of beers covers all the bases and then some - they have your usual cases of "regular" beer and then for the craft beer lovers out there, there is a pretty dazzling array of beers from all over the place. I like looking around because you never know what is hiding on the shelves. We also really like that they sell a lot of single bottles and cans, if you are looking to sample a bunch of new beers or aren't willing to commit to buying a four- or six-pack. Shopping at Elevated is like being in one of those candy stores where everything is sold by weight and you can just grab whatever you want. It's super fun if you have some beer lovers in your life. There's also wine (not for me) and a walk-in cold case with cases of beer ready for the drinking (though it seems like the selection in there is more "regular" beer and less craft). Coming from California Napa region I am not accustomed to having to go out of my way to purchase adult beverages. I've been to a few different locations around the Minneapolis area but this place was by far the most pleasant experience. Truthfully elsewhere I feel like I'm doing something dirty or illicit rather than looking for a nice bottle of wine. The friendly professional staff had a little wine sampling going on and very knowledgeable too! I didn't feel weird and nor feel the need to hide my purchase in a plain brown paper bag at all! I was proud of my selections and had a delightful evening with friends. My go to place while in MSP. This may seem like an average liquor store when you first walk in there. It doesn't look unique from others at first. This is certainly not a bad quality. But when you look a little more and walk in there a little more, this is when you see the uniqueness that makes this place gold. I have no idea what took me so long to try out this place. Compared to other liquor stores, it's just come and go with nothing special. But this place has way more than that. It has character, charm, and a little something special that would make me want to stay there a few minutes longer. It's hard to put that word into this review because it's hard to come up with one. At first glance, it doesn't seem like there'd be a huge selection. If you look a little more, you'll see that it's there. There's tons to choose from, and it's hard to pick just one because they all look so dang good. The employees are amazing! Of all the liquor stores I've been in, this ranks number one for customer service. They take extra time for their customers to make them feel important. Their actions are successful with me. Granted, for me, this location is a little more of a drive than other places for liquor. The drive was totally worth it. I'll be back. Also, if I had to make one suggestion, that would be to offer a prize slightly more spectacular than a sucker for answering the question on the board correctly. I love Elevated! Great people, great shop and selection. I love the design of this place. Some of their prices are relatively high but others are good. They frequently have tastings ( almost every time I go!) and allow dogs! They adore our pit bull and have done some events for local rescues. Great store. It's always just fun to go read more

Elevated is a great store for beer. I've never seen such a good collection -- not even in the bigger stores -- of sour and funky beers. I couldn't believe it. I may buy all my beer here. Selection of hard liquor on the other hand was a good deal more limited. I mean, it's not bad for a small store, but I'd like more choices. Found Elevated near top of recommendations for craft beer retailers in Minneapolis metro. I was nearby at Ted Cook's 19th Hole BBQ, so I popped in to see which Dogfish Head beers they had in stock. They had a handful, including the two I was looking for. Staff greeted me upon entry and led me to the Dogfish brews. Can't really comment on the stock, but it was a clean and organized interior. I visited this bottle shop on recommendation from a bartender at Surly. We were looking for off premise places to get some out-of-distro beers to take back to MO. The storefront is not as impressive as the shop's beer selection, so don't be discouraged. This place is A+ for all alcoholic beverages, but especially craft beer. There was an immense selection of packaged beer, both chilled and warm, as well as 4 full aisles of single craft beers. They offered a 10% discount on any mixed 6 packs. They also organized their singles by style, as opposed to by brewery, which made it very easy to find the singles I wanted to take home. I was perusing the chilled selection when Dan came up and asked if we were looking for MN only beer. I guess he could tell by our selections at the register what we were searching for. He helped me locate several MN brews such as Bent Paddle, Indeed and Surly, as well as suggesting other beers that we would enjoy. We walked out of Elevated with 2+ cases and a new love of MN craft beer. When in MPLS again, I will be a repeat patron of Elevated. Thanks to Dan for all the suggestions! Cheers! read more

I dig Elevated. Lots of craft beer that's arranged by region, and they carry some of my favorite beermakers that you don't see everywhere. Six-packs are competitively priced, some a little more and some a little less than other places. But it all evens out. I've noticed their 12-packs in the beer-cooler room are very reasonably priced (Schell's, Summit, especially). Elevated seems to get all the new and seasonal stuff in very quickly, and their create-yer-own six-pack option is intriguing, if a little spendy sometimes. Overall this is a great place; 'tis nice that they will give you a little discount each month for participating in their point-of-purchase customer tracking system. Employees are hip and friendly. My husband found a couple of beers that he had given up hope on during our visit. He was emotional at one point because he was blown away. We loved how organized the beer selection was. My favorite liquor store to visit in Minneapolis... hands down! Located right off the Hiawatha Line (so it has easy access and parking for both drivers and pedestrians), Elevated has a large variety of beer, wine and spirits. They take pride in selling local vendors and have a large assortment of gluten free/reduced beer options available (Omission, Stone Delicious IPA, Glutenberg, Venn, etc.). Another cool thing about Elevated is that they frequently have tastings (even on weeknights) so you can learn and try new products all the time. The staff is usually pretty helpful and friendly too! Also, I LOVE that Elevated has a loyalty program :) Its even more incentive for me to come back! read more

I decided to check out Elevated after a friend told me about their photo booth and knowledgeable staff. A photo booth in a liquor store? This could be interesting. I went 30 minutes before the ever-disappointing Vikings vs. Green Bay game and the staff were all friendly and even helped me find the perfect beer to pair with tacos and fried chicken (Deschutes Mirror Pond in case you need this unique pairing). One feature I didn't get to try out is the build your own six-pack, which had a more than decent selection of beers to your very own masterpiece. This particular evening they were sampling beers from Indeed Brewing. Here again the staff shared good info about this budding Northeast brewery. Although Elevated isn't close to me, I will definitely check it out again, especially since I was so preoccupied that I didn't take a photo in the booth. I would recommend checking it out if you're looking for a friendly experience when you're shopping for craft brews, you may even learn a thing or two. read more

This place is amazing. If you like trying new beers (this is definitely for you). Their make your own six pack is outstanding (kind of comparable to a mini library but with alcohol. Great new addition to the neighborhood! Nice knowledgeable staff! I have visited several times since opening and every time I am greeted quickly with a smile and assistance. Elevated is right on Hiawatha making it a speedy stop, if you want it to be. I recommend hanging around for a moment. There is a mixer 6'er selection that is unmatched for the area, maybe even Minneapolis. 12 doors dedicated to craft beer six packs and bombers. Good selection of spirits as well as wine, but I haven't done too much fishing around in those areas yet. The prices are in line with others, some are a buck less some are a buck more; beer prices are spot on. read more

It's not often you see a mix-your-own sixer this extensive. There's six large shelves, each loaded with beer and organized by style. Truly a thing of beauty, it is. Prices are decent and staff has so far been welcoming and helpful. I tend to judge liquor stores by asking the employee for a good IPA and seeing what their response is. I was recommended Stone's Enjoy By 7.04.14 IPA and it was a real winner. Worth a stop if you're on Hiawatha and driving past. read more
