I have been here a couple of times for IPL with Holly. She's very thorough and she's not afraid to turn up the laser enough that I've received some really great results. My freckles sloughed off and the capillaries in my face have lightened significantly. This is a no frills laser spa, but the price is fair for what you get. IPL sessions are fast, but again, no frills. Personally, I don't do them for a heated flower and water filled pillow, spa towel wrap, soothing music, scented air and dim lighting. Those things are nice, but I want results. Holly gives me great results. Not having all of the froo froo stuff, but paying less than places that do? Works for me! Hollly's experienced and very knowledgeable. My results were better here than at Ann Webb spa, if that tells you anything. They also offer a variety of other services, like injectables, cool sculpting, yag, etc. Be sure to request Holly and you won't be disappointed. One more thing, the salon can be hard to find at first. It's on the second level of the shopping plaza, next to a tattoo shop. read more

TL;DR: they burned my face, buyer beware. I just had my final treatment on most my package and left with 3 very visible burns on my face around my lip area. I am black and had my previous 5 treatments with a revolving door of technicians so perhaps that lack of continuity on the business end contributed to my current situation. I go on holiday in a few days and will be out there looking crazy with my scarred face. If you're a person of color I strongly suggest that you find a technician who has a similar skin tone as they will probably be more attentive to your skin's needs and limits. See photo. read more

Total number of sessions: 8 Areas of import: Underarms, Brazilian (I got these areas treated simultaneously. So, total of 8 sessions, where I got treatments for both areas) I am an Asian female, extremely fair skinned (think vampire) with dark pigmented hairs, so naturally I did see results with laser hair removal, after about the 4th appointment or so. My results though vary widely depending on which part of the anatomy you ask. On my underarms, given its flat surface, is essentially hair-free with the occasional straggler I have to shave every few weeks. Would definitely say this was a laser hair removal victory. The numerous unsightly ingrown hairs I would get previously from shaving are but a distant memory. I did start getting hyper pigmentation towards the latter half of my sessions. So, I opted to discontinue this battle against the lone survivors. The landing strip, also flat surface, is pretty bare. Again, few stragglers. No big deal for the most part. Easy shaving. Hairs that do grow are less coarse and easily tackled. The only TRUE problem... is the actual Brazilian part. After 8 sessions, I still have about 60-70% hair growth. Granted, the lady lips are contoured with many folds, so no flat surface to be had. Between the three different techs I've worked with, probably about three shots of laser per side would be the average. I thought to myself, maybe I will just quit while I'm ahead. I have spent a small fortune on these sessions and the results unfortunately down low have lagged behind. This summer though I am considering tackling this anatomy again, but probably at a different location. Note: opted out of laser removal around the poo hole (which is part of the Brazilian package). Really don't get hair there to begin with so... I have been going to this location (and the previous northern office prior to the location change) for just over a year for all of these sessions. They do honor the groupon purchases and constantly have locbox offers to help with the cost. Area appears to be well kept and clean. Service staff is professional and hospitable. I don't have another point of reference because the Elements on Hymeadow is the only laser spa that I have been to but I can tell you a few really good things about it. * The staff is super nice and make you feel relaxed * The place is clean and inviting * They remind you of your appointment several times so you don't forget * They never, ever, leave you waiting. Appointments start on time. Being a laser virgin, I was a little concerned about the process and the pain. They verbally walked me through it so I knew what to expect. It wasn't nearly as bad as I had heard from friend who use laser hair removal and because they use a "cool laser" it cools the skin before blasting it so it hurts much less. I went for my third time last night for my bikini line and I have been really happy with the results so far. Because I got my first three treatments on a Groupon deal, they were cool enough to offer my next 3 (and most likely last ones) at the same rates. Love it! I appreciate the value and the service. I moved to Austin two years ago from Seattle. Unfortunately, I started my laser hair removal journey up there. When I went to Elements for the first time I was dismayed - because I realized that had I just waited six months I could have alleviated hours of sweat induced electroshock therapy. And when I say therapy, I really mean torture. After my first session at Elements I actually told Sentia that she was my new BFF. She may have been a little weirded out, but I get the feeling that she hears that a lot... Anyway, their machine has a cooling spray and puff of air that masks the zap. It's SO much more comfy than my other experience. On top of it all, their office at Hymeadow is very pretty, you rarely have to wait, and their treatments are very reasonably priced. I've made an appointment for skin tightening 3 times. Each time they called right before the appointment to tell me they can't do it because they are out of gel for the machine. This last time they finally checked on why they are always out of gel, she came back on the phone to tell me they weren't offering that service anymore. They could have told me that 6 weeks ago! They did say I could go to the downtown location for the service. I already tried that too. After paying $25 to park, the machine wouldn't work! Poorly run as far as my experience. I have been debating getting laser hair removal done for about 5 years and I finally took the plunge by visiting Elements. I was very nervous about the pain and discomfort, however, the session was very quick (about 15 minutes for a Brazilian treatment) and truthfully, not nearly as painful as I thought it would be. The description on their website saying it feels like getting snapped with a tiny rubber band would be accurate. The laser machine sprays bursts of cool air on your skin as it goes to help calm the skin. I would say that the worst part of the whole process was the smell of burning hair - that was disgusting. I didn't experience any swelling or excessive redness after wards, and I'm pleased with the results so far. They were running an online special when I went, so I purchased 6 treatments at the special price. Let me first just say, if you don't feel like reading all of this. Elements is clean, it's professional, it's reputable, and I would never go anywhere else for laser hair removal. This was my first time to visit the North location. I was very excited to see that I didn't have to go downtown. I really didn't know what to expect because it was in a medical office complex and Elements is so not hum drum like those other offices. First off, there was great parking. There are a couple of spots marked for Elements so I just walked right in. The waiting room was really nice, tons of places to sit, and stuff to read. I hadn't been in 2 years, but they had my file pulled and went over everything with me. Meghan is the same tech I had 2 years ago and I got her again. I was really excited about that because she is really great at making me feel relaxed and she is really great at knowing my skin and how the laser will react. After I was done with my treatment I went up front to schedule my follow up visit. We chatted for a long bit and I really liked that I felt like they wanted to know me and create a good relationship. I had my second IPL done on my hands today. I felt like the tech wanted to do as little as possible and get me out of there. Almost five hours later, I don't see any evidence of the treatment- nothing similar to the first time I had it done- also at Elements but with a different tech. Plus the tech told me that the owner had changed his policies since my original treatment. Last time the tech did my hands and lower arms. This one would only do my hands. (She said that this was the owner's new policy with Groupons and that she would "lose her license" if she did more.) I'd bought a Groupon for two treatments based on discussions with them that they would treat hands and arms together. It isn't customer friendly to change policy after the service is discussed and paid for. I hope I get some result out of this one. read more

She is really down to earth and personable. She was also very transparent about how the process would work, tips, do's/dont's. The main difference is the ample parking lot. I also really like my laser tech (Veronica). She is very friendly and makes sure you are comfortable with the laser intensity level every step of the way. After a few sessions, I noticed a reasonable reduction in coarse hair growth. If you are debating laser hair removal, I recommend you to do your research on the potential side effects (although I encountered nothing other than itchiness and redness) and to go in for a consultation. I love this location! I come here to get laser hair removal done and it has worked great! I love the girls here, they make me feel so comfortable and they do a great job! I've gotten 4 IPL's at Elements Laser Spa in N. Austin. The first 2 were amazing with Nicole but now that she is gone, the service is terrible. I did my 3rd IPL with someone they recommended & it did absolutely nothing. I contacted management & they responded that they would redo it so I went in for a 4th one with a different person & they charged me! The girl had no idea what had happened & said management would call in a couple days. It's been over a week. I contacted them again & no response. I've been a client at Element's for about 2 years. I've had treatments in several areas and I'm very pleased with the results. I've been treated by about every girl at the North location (Meghan, Cory, Sentia, Vanessa, Holly) and all of them have been super professional, sweet and always made me feel really comfortable. Before starting laser hair removal I was scared about how painful it would be, I have a low pain tolerance, but it's nothing unbearable. Less painful and much better results than waxing for sure. It helps A LOT if you take some Advil 45 minutes - 1 hr before your appointment. The facility always looks really nice and clean.They are always running great specials on Groupon or by email. I wasn't that impressed with their services at first because I wasn't seeing the results after the recommended amount of treatments and wrote a review reflecting that. I later recieved a call from the manager, Jessica, apologizing for my lack of results and offered to do my treatments herself. Also, because I had been going for awhile, offered to comp the rest of my treatments until the area was clear. Even when I showed my frustration with the situation, everyone was always very nice and they went out of their way to make it up to me. I am a Groupon groupie and finally decided to try laser hair removal after seeing a deal for Elements Laser Spa. I live up North so the Hymeadow location is ideal. I was sort of terrified of causing permanent discoloration and scarring, but after my first session I was put at ease. It's amazingly quick but the first machine I used hurt like hell. However, I tried out a different machine the second time and it was way less painful. The staff is nice but its the results that are really amazing. I barely have to worry about shaving my bikini line or armpits after two sessions. My only complaint is that they email schedule reminders that are incorrect and call about upcoming appointments too much. Otherwise, I recommend them! Update: So, I feel like I should update about the results. The machine that didn't hurt as much didn't give the same results, so we had to turn up the juice. Ouch. Areas with thicker hair get far better results, like underarms and bikini line. Areas that I really want to be hair-free for forever, and the whole reason I bought the Groupon, don't get the same results, like the upper lip. It's frustrating but it requires far more sessions, like more than twice. Damn the curse of Italian lineage! read more

What a disaster. Went in for a second IPL, no problems with the first. The second however burned and blistered my face. It was painful and ugly! I call to report and send pics and they are all sympathetic and want to be of assistance and give advice to keep my face clean and stay out of the sun (duh). Promise to make good on any scarring and to check in with me frequently - NEITHER HAPPENS. I was tired of everyone asking me what happened to my face so I called them back to see what could be done and basically they say it will take time and to use sunscreen. And in case you are wondering, no, they did not reimburse my expense...didn't even offer. There are so many professional laser spas in Austin - go anywhere but here! I guess I will have to invest in getting my scars cleared up since this unprofessional organization will take your money to scar you but not to fix their horrible mistakes. read more

I first went to Elements on a Groupon deal. I had never done laser hair removal before, but was ready to be done with the shadowy 'stache and the dreaded "patch" that lurked just under my chin. Sentia was the tech who did all my sessions and she was great. She was very friendly, and very conscientious when it came to pain tolerance and comfort level. I never felt rushed with her and I never felt any pressure to buy products or anything like that. My appointments were always on time and I definitely appreciated the email reminders. I've had good results with only 3 treatments, and Sentia was always thorough and made sure that she didn't miss any spots on the area we were working on. Great experience and happy to bring my business back to them for another round of laser hair removal (it's addicting, can't wait to do the armpits!). It's not cheap, but I'd be wary of any laser hair removal that was too cheap to be true.
