I've stayed here several times for work, and it's honestly the best hotel in the area. Gabriele at the front desk is outstanding and always provides exceptional customer service. A few weeks ago, I booked a room online, but due to an inventory mix-up, there were actually no rooms available. Gabriele called me before I arrived to let me know about the issue, apologized for the inconvenience, and even recommended another hotel along my route where I could book a room. That level of communication and genuine care made a frustrating situation much easier. It's rare to find customer service like that these days, and it's one of the many reasons I keep coming back whenever I'm working in the area. Highly recommend! read more

The super low reviews for this place are interesting, because as far as hotels for business travelers go, this place was good. It had all the amenities that you'd expect, a comfortable bed (I probably got my best sleep while traveling here compared to the entire year of travel/stays), spacious bathroom/bedroom, and the full kitchen and ability to make ice is great. I also used the gym which was also spacious and was much better equipped than other hotels I've been to. Overall, everything was as clean as you could hope for, check-in/check-out was smooth and the folks at the front desk were courteous, and I had a very easy five night stay. Will definitely stay here again when I return to the area for work. read more

As MVC and BonVoy members we've seen this brand in our travels and decided to give it a try. We needed a one night stay and booked the King One Bedroom Suite. Having a separate living/kitchen space was nice. Pleasantly surprised to find they had a bar. And while the bartender was not going to be there that night Peter was nice enough to open it for a few hours for us...good man. It's appears to be an older hotel that has been renovated tucked away in an industrial park. When you see the reviews call it a minimalist hotel they are dead on. The rooms are not big enough IMO to travel with a large family. Living room is super small you are basically sitting right on top of the TV. Pillows are way too soft unless you like that then you will sleep well. Bed was comfortable but not Marriott level. Room and hotel was clean, shower pressure was great and location was near a ton of things. If you need an overnight stay for a day or two this place is worth it. Breakfast was just okay I've had better at Hampton Inns. You better there by 9 things we're getting scarce. But all in all I give this place a thumbs up and if we are ever passing through MA again I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. read more

My experience here is much different than the low-star reviews I see. Maybe I got lucky. Or maybe it's because we only stayed one night. My child had to move out of the dorms since summer is here. This was an extremely short trip so I was just trying to book for one night. I chose this hotel because of the proximity to campus along with being in a convenient spot to pick up some good food (shout out to Joanie's Pizza and Dave's Hot Chicken!). I previously stayed in another well-known hotel chain but was unimpressed by the noise level. Booked this place online though the website and everything was a breeze. Hotel was easy to find. Loved the ability to stay updated through the Bonvoy app. It sent me reminders of my reservation so I didn't have any last-minute surprises. I found that I was actually able to check in early (regular is at 3), and this may be the deal-maker for us. Checking in early made our 24-hour trip so convenient, giving us a chance to drop off some luggage and take a quick snooze before hitting the road and more chores. The room we stayed in was made up of a small kitchen complete with oven, fridge, micro sink and dishwasher. Cabinets had basic cutlery. One queen size bed in one bedroom and couch in the living room. Both rooms had big TV with all the basic channels. Bathroom and the was rest of our room was acceptably clean. Overall, an easy 4-stars from me. Staff was friendly and helpful although we had no major issues. Hotel was a lot more quiet(than our last one). The bathroom could be a tad bit cleaner but nothing that was unacceptable. Apparently there is a pool that is not in service and a free breakfast that gets good reviews. However we had to check out at the crack of dawn so didn't get to experience any of that. In conclusion, despite the negative reviews, this will probably serve as our go-to hotel when I'm in town for this college stuff. I felt comfortable here. read more

Stopped in for 1 night after a long drive. Most of everything was amazing. The beds were super comfortable (I don't give that away easy). The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast was very good. The one lady who works there, she may have been the manager provided excellent customer service. Awful. I can't believe Westin/Marriott has their brand connected to this. The only positive thing was the size of the room- it has a separate little kitchen area. The room, while large, was run down dirty. The lineman drenched in bleach. The bathroom chipped and dirty. Stayed at this hotel overnight on a quick road trip. Check in was smooth as we came later at night. The room looked clean enough with modern decor and a full kitchen. Once you pay closer attention to detail the score goes down. The bathroom had many cracks on the walls, mirror was chipped and the shower grout was a rusty color in some areas. The celing is also thin I coould hear the people above walking during my stay.. The bed wasn't too comfortable and the pillows were flat and lumpy all around. They did not even get better when stacking or folding them. Please get your guests new pillows. I was surprised by the breakfast. There was a person making made to order omelets and eggs at no additional cost. There was cereal,breads, fruits, oatmeal, coffee, juice, and breakfast meats. The lobby is welcoming and modern with a shop to purchase some essentials. Overall, I enjoyed my stay but they need to do so updating were it counts with more comfortable mattresses and quality pillows. read more

The voice of reason here to say this Element gives you a nice option along your NE Massachusetts trek. Sure it isn't palatial and the blue-bloods might have stayed somewhere more regal in their day, but it gets the job done. This hotel is good for work or play, with the right mix of in-room choices depending on your visit. The rooms are spacious, especially the separate bed/living room layouts. You have a large fridge and counter space, along with a kitchen bar and stools if you're eating in. Bathrooms are fine with all amenities, and the couch/TV area is good to relax when your done with your work at the in-room desk. Breakfast was creative with the separate stations, although the scrambled egg service station that wanted to be an omelette station when it grows up was a little non-necessary. Just let us get our eggs and sausage self-serve, or go all-in with the omelettes. But otherwise good breakfast selection and environment. The bar area is nice at night as well, especially when you're ready to stay in during a snowstorm. You're a little removed from local eating, but there are a few nearby, and you can get delivery. So far we have been treated very badly at the hotel by the staff. The staff attitude is beyond anything. I was told my card was declined where I showed to the front desk representative that it has been fine with my bank, then she changed the story to something else. It appeared to me that the front desk is not very educated about how to greet, how to smile, how to be NICE to hotel guests. Thus far terrible experience. I truly am disappointed for picking this hotel to stay in for being closer to the university conference. On top of all that the pool is not open and they offer to use the sister hotel pool. Seriously???? Why it does not say anywhere on the website that the pool is currently going through a maintenance? So I would highly recommend to stay away from this hotel, at least until the staff is trained and educated enough to be friendly. I do not think it is too much to ask. read more

I'm just going to give the pros and cons for my stay at the Element hotel. The pros - Early check-in. I was able to check in 1 hour early. The hotel was very generous when we asked for extra towels. The staff was very friendly There was a kitchen in the room The cons- The water was turned off 1 hour after we checked in for 1 1/2 hours for maintenance. We stayed for 2 nights. We didn't have hot water until the morning of check out. It was dirty. The breakfast was not good at all It was freezing in the room. The heat wouldn't go above 70 and the vents were blowing out cold air. I mentioned this to the staff and they offered to add points to my account. They never did. read more

Seriously, the crew here is the most kind, helpful and understanding bunch of folks you could hope for. I totally messed up my reservation (wrong night) and they were able to help me out, but I really just got lucky altogether. In the morning, the breakfast staff was all over me with assistance and apologies that the food was a couple of minutes late. I hope they don't say those things because people are so rude, but that's probably why. TLDR; this place is a pretty good hotel with a wonderful staff. Rooms are clean and awesome and I'd challenge you to find somewhere with a more helpful crew. read more

Worst experience ever!!! Booked my reservation a day ahead on hotels.com, everything was all paid for then come to find out I was never in their system upon checking in. So why did I experience this problem? They don't know because it's a new hotel. I never had a problem checking in anywhere else beside this place. Such poor management. Took five people to figured out what they'll do for us since they can't find me in the system. It was already 11 o' clock pm I was tired and was ready to relax and go to bed. So they decided they'll just get us into a room. Ended up giving us a room with double bed instead of giving us what I originally booked so that was really upsetting. I just didn't bother because it was already late and we were all tired. I liked that it was modern chic cute looking but I didn't like the fact that we ran into some problem. The room was nice and clean. Has an odor of a new furnished room. The shower floor stays flooded after taking a shower. So this problem needs to be FIX!!! The fan/central air made a rattling noise all night so that was very annoying. We were supposed to received an evening complimentary organic wine or beer but that was never offered to us. They didn't seem to care about us, so I won't be returning. read more

We had an unpleasant stay here and would look for other options next time. The bed was uncomfortable so we asked for another room but was told all the beds are the same. We had a corner room and whenever AC system turned on it was extremely loud and woke us up. Would not recommend this hotel at all. read more

The rooms are nice here and really clean, the staff is also really nice, and their little gym and pool do the trick for a quick workout, however the water is warm at best and my last stay I got a room that didn't have a desk. I was traveling for business so this was super annoying. They really need to address the hot water issue multiple people have complained. I think if that is address it will bring them up significantly in terms of ratings since the other hotels in the area aren't very good. read more

Disappointing first time stay of more than a week. Was assigned to handicapped room by request, but not configured for a wheelchair: couldn't reach faucet handles in galley kitchen or bathroom, couldn't wash dishes or load dishwasher, bed very low with lumpy mattress and pillows were soft and shapeless. Hotel/wide fire alarm went off 2 AMs in a row, at 5 and 8 AM, requiring evacuation of entire hotel into the parking lot at dawn until local fire dept. did a walkthrough of entire hotel. Cause both times was surge in water pressure within the plumbing system. Morning hot breakfasts offered good variety of food. There was a bar off the lobby but no bartender on weekends (!). We would not return again when visiting the area. read more

We had the most pleasant experience for 5 nights at Element Chelmsford. Our first stay there after some bad experiences with other hotels in the area over the years. The hotel and the room was always very clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Complimentary breakfast was extensive and delicious with plenty of hot and cold fresh options. Conveniently located in the area with close proximity to grocery and liquor stores and restaurants and only about 25 minutes from the Manchester airport. With family in Chelmsford and other parts of MA and NH, this will be our go-to place to stay. Look forward to our next visit. read more

I had friends come visit from New York. I live nearby but stayed at the hotel with them. The people at the front desk was nice. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast was pretty good. The one thing was the pool wasn't open and it wasn't mentioned on the website. They said most hotels around the area don't open their indoor pools in the winter. Thats not true at all. I've had friends and family stay at other hotels in the area and the indoor pools are always open. I'd stay here again :) read more

Hotel is nice. Rooms are great. Bar is a plus. Downsides: pool closed, located right at a major traffic circle so it's noisy. They said they wouldn't clean my room unless I notified them but twice my room was cleaned without me requesting it which was weird. Also I paid thru a travel site. They had issues seeing that, charged me again, and now several days later have said they see the issue and "fixed it" however the only thing that has happened was I was charged another $61 to my credit card. Super frustrating and a hassle. I do not recommend staying here. read more

Convenient location to NH via US 3 northbound or nearby Lowell and points south towards Boston. Complimentary breakfast is sufficient with coffee, tea, juices, eggs, sausage, hot and cold cereal. It's a very short drive to restaurants like McDonald's, Dunkin Donuts, Boston Market, Applebee's. It's maybe a ten-minute walk but Drum Hill is so very busy, I would not attempt. Delivery through Uber Eats and Door Dash are options. Rooms come with a full-sized refrigerator, dual cooktop, microwave oven and dishwasher. Walmart and Hannaford are nearby. We were here for several days and used the laundry facilities. Staff has been very helpful suggesting places to eat and getting extra towels. Would definitely stay here again for extended stays. read more

Horrible. One star because we were able to sleep undisturbed and the shower worked even with only warm, not hot, water. Other than that, we got ripped off. As follows: 1st and foremost, we did not get the room we reserved.. The kitchenette sink was clogged, there were no tissues or paper towels at all. One miniture bar of soap. No cups in the bathroom to rinse your mouthe or for mouthwash. One of the door handles for the bathroom door inside was falling off. The toilet paper roll holder was falling off. Both of these items did not require the services of a brain surgeon to correct. There is a possibility the the room was Cleaned by Stevie Wonder. As for check out and payment, I had used a credit card to reserve the room as security. For payment I elected to use my debit card. That in itself caused issues on how to do that! That got handled. The price of the room included an upcharge because it was considered a handicapped accessible room! Hello, ADA! As for handicapped accessible, the only area modified was the bathroom. In checking over the credit card and debit card charges, they charged my debit card for the room at the inflated rate. They said they would refund the overcharge. Not to my bank did they as yet. They ALSO charged my credit card all the charge and an extra $40.00+. So, do you like getting what you pay for? If so, DO NOT GO THERE! If you don't mind a room that is not really clean, handles etc falling off, trust me, there is no way housekeeping could have missed these items, sink clogged, not stocked correctly, and being overcharged,then go and waste your money. But, there were plenty of clean towels and pillows! The toilet paper is next to useless. We also called the desk for extra toilet paper and tissues. They told us To come to the desk and get them. It was a little tricky to find if you're not from the area. Parking was good. Outside and inside of hotel was really nice and up to date. Check in was strange. The process took a while and they had to send someone up to physically check to see if our room was ready. They are new so definitely running out some kinks still. But everyone we came across was friendly and positive. The room was very nice and clean. Soft towels!! And the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Took a nice hot shower and loved their soap and lotion. There is no restaurant which we read online that there was. No menu in room to order something from the "lounge" so we had to walk down to get it and walk back to return. Menu was limited seemed mostly Mediterranean food hummus, falafels, etc. So, we ordered chipotle(lots a food in the area). We were not allowed to swim in the pool because they didn't have a life guard. This was a huge bummer. The guy that told us we couldn't swim was super nice and offered a pizza on them. He felt so bad and was accommodating-he gets 5 stars! We were woken up early from house keeping trying to open the door even though we had our do not disturb sign out. They came around maybe an hour later and tried opening our door again. Breakfast was very good! A lot of options and all pretty healthy. Do not stay here if you have children! My sister was coming into town with her kids to see our dad, who is sick. Being local, I figured it would be fun for me and my kids to stay at a hotel with them. We always choose our hotels carefully to make our stay as fun and easy as possible. We always want a pool, restaurant for room service, and a family-friendly room. Element seemed to have it all. But, nope, it didn't have any of that, even though the website boasts it all. The pool was closed because there wasn't a lifeguard. I've been to so many hotel pools and NEVER seen a lifeguard. I'm not sure why this location can't open the pool without one. The website also says there's a bar/restaurant, but it's just a bar. No restaurant, unless you count the breakfast (which was gross - I threw my food away). Finally, I decided to get a suite because the website gave the option of a roll away bed - I figured that would be great. Each kid could have their own bed in the main living area (since the room would also have a sofa bed) and I could have my own room and bed. Nope. Even though I'd reserved one when I reserved the room, no roll away beds. They don't even have them in the building. When it came time to make the sofa bed, there were no linens and when I called the front desk the woman said she was the only one there so I'd have to go down to get them. Wasn't a big deal for me, but if my kids had been younger it would have been, as I wouldn't have been able to leave them in the room alone. The final nail in the coffin was when my kids went to deliver something to my sister's room down the hall at 7:30pm on a Saturday night. They were gone maybe 2 minutes, max, in the hall no more than 1 minute. As soon as they opened the door back into the room the front desk called to tell me that they can't have kids running in the hall and that "multiple people called to complain" about my kids running in the hall. I kid you not, there was no time for anyone to call and complain, my kids were in the hall for such a small amount of time! Maybe the front desk heard them because the walls and ceilings of the building are so paper thin, every time someone above you walks it sounds like a herd of elephants. The paint on the ceiling above the shower was peeling off. Not just a little, huge strips. The best thing about this hotel is that it's right next door to Starbucks. You want to walk, though, because to get to the hotel is really confusing and out of the way, even though it's a stone's throw from the main road. I'm really not high maintenance and pretty laid back, but I would not recommend this hotel. read more
