I do not recommend using Elegant Painting. In the beginning everything appeared great. I spoke to a gentleman by the name of Luis who promptly got out to my property. I had just had my primary home painted with Sherwin Williams and I wanted to use the same exact paint and color palate on a rental property I purchased in Ocala. Unfortunately, the painter that painted my primary home didn't work the hour and a half north where my rental property was located. I confirmed with Luis that he painted with Sherwin Williams and he said yes. I then provided the colors that were used on my main home. A quote was sent to me and it was professional. I agreed and Zelle'd the money to Maria Garcia. Luis even confirmed that his guys were on the way to Sherwin Williams to get the paint while the power washing was being finished. I asked Luis to text me about one day prior to the job being done, which he did, so I could rearrange my work schedule to be there soon after. Everything was really smooth until the end. I was told the job was completed and I would be meeting Carlos to do the final walk through. When I arrived the job was clearly not done. I would say it was 90% of the way there, but I walked around the house with Carlos. I pointed out about 10 areas that were not completed. Both Carlos and I were running late so soon after the walk through I had to leave for work obligations. Maria called me later that day and said everything was done. I was reluctant to pay, but the job was so close to being done I did it. I trusted Maria to get the property completed if there were any issues. My wife and I arrived to the property on Saturday and it was a disaster. Food was left in the clean, rental ready fridge and a red drink had spilled all over the entire fridge. There were pizza boxes, pizza slices, additional drinks, water bottles, etc. within the fridge. Outlet covers and vents were left off, some outlets were painted over, and the garage door button painted on. The were drips all over the place including the front door step, on the laminate flooring, and on the lanai. There was overspray on windows and in a ceiling vent and light fixtures that were still taped off. There were cigarettes and ashes in the house. There was a pack of empty Newports left in my garage. Who thinks it's okay to smoke in someone else's home and that it is acceptable to leave ashes in the house? Their trash was left on my lanai. Many of the areas I went over with Carlos were not completed and there was even more rework after he left. Two remaining 5 gallon paint buckets were left open so the remaining paint could not be used. Although it was a small amount it prevented me from having touch up to fix current areas or in the future. But the most disappointing part of all was they painted with the cheapest Valspar paint from Lowe's. This paint has many known issues and many forums about it on DIY.com and TrustPilot. From the get go I had requested and confirmed Sherwin Williams paint colors with Luis and they chose to paint with a much cheaper paint than was agreed upon. To me this is extremely bad business and all trust was lost. This business has not been around long according to Sunbiz. I was duped by their reviews and their professionalism on the front end. But I would 100% never do business with this company again. I have included many photos of their work, so you be the judge. Worst of all I have showed documentation to Maria about this and her reply was you went to the walk through with Carlos, so you must have approved everything for the final payment. What I didn't realize was I had to analyze not only the work, but look at every paint bucket as well. Now I am forced to get the home repainted and deal with this company through the Ocala court system. In the business world this is called a bait and switch. It's unfortunate that this appears to be a normal business practice at Elegant Painting. read more
