I was looking for a professional photographer to do an outdoor portrait session with my family. We…read moreran into lots of photographers out there but many were basically all the same. Same shots, all boring pictures with no imagination (sit down, turn left, face front). Then through a friend we heard of Caren Morris. We found her website and loved her past work, it was exactly what we were looking for. Called and left a message on her voicemail and my call was returned in about an hour. Her prices were extremely reasonable and we discussed what I wanted was some modern family portraits that we could put up in our new house. We discussed the shoot for a bit and we booked. On the day of the shoot Caren was there waiting for us at the park we decided to meet at. As discussed she brought some cool props to aid in getting our creative juices flowing! Caren was super easy to work with and had some great ideas as to what would look great. She was able to keep the mood light and keep everyone engaged. After seeing the final products (just arrived in the mail today) they are awesome! Not only the pictures but the presentation of them to us were on a cute little flashdrive in one of the nicest packages. Neil & Fiona of MXBloom were our power couple duo that provided both photography & videography services. Back in fall of 2022, they did our engagement shoot. We originally weren't that interested in doing one, but that was one of the best decisions because it allowed us to interact with Fiona (& Neil) before our big day. She directed us, captured our moments beautifully, and was so fun to work with. On our big day, Neil & Fiona were a rockstar team! They were professional, polite, AND also so much fun to have around! What I found particularly striking was their ability to capture the candid and posed moments throughout the day, without us feeling like we had to break from "being in the moment" (if that makes sense.) You could tell throughout the entire time, they were both "on" and trying to identify all the amazing, key moments to photograph/video. There were several times we had to shift our timeline during the wedding, and they were both very responsive and accommodating to those changes. They worked so well with our DJ/MC Alan (which by the way, is such an important aspect - vendors being able to work together like one team.) Their service and value provided was worth every cent. And given our wedding was a blending of our Asian (Chinese/Vietnamese) heritage and Western upbringing, we felt Fiona & Neil were the PERFECT people to document our big day. It was also such a touching moment seeing how my parents, who speak Chinese Mandarin, were able to make conversation with Neil & Fiona. Oh, one other mind-blowing fact. Fiona was about 7.5 months pregnant when she was working on our wedding day. Yet, the way she carried herself and energy she brought, you couldn't tell she was pregnant at all! A superwoman! First of all, both my fiance and I are awkward people. This meant finding a wedding photographer…read morewho could work with a socially awkward couple would be...difficult. Of course, we wanted perfect pictures...but we also wanted to feel comfortable with our photographer on our big day. After viewing many websites and contacting many photographers, we chose Siang and Lightphoria because of Siang's personality and his love for photography. Siang is easy to work with and listens to all your concerns and needs. We started off with a couple's session (aka engagement session) where we went around Seattle, taking pictures and breaking the ice. We turned these pictures into a guestbook, which ALL our guests adored and could not stop talking about!! Siang not only made sure he had good shots, but he took the time to develop a photographer/client connection (being socially awkward and all, boy did we take up a lot of his time). Seriously though, many photographers can take perfect pictures by working with lighting and the basic rules of photography 101. But only great photographers can capture those indescribable moments where one glance from the bride or that look in the groom's eyes captures feelings from that day. Siang has captured some of these "moments." When I look at my photos, I don't see just family and friends - instead, I see love, happiness, nervousness and joy. It is these intangible moments that Siang captures so beautifully. You won't be disappointed with Lightphoria or Siang if you ask him to freeze frame important moments in your life. We love him so much that we plan to have him at other special occasions in our life such as anniversaries, the start of our family and our children's birthday. Siang was probably the only one who knew how to handle the devious flower girls and apprehensive ring bearers in the hot August sun. No double chins any where either! I've also had the pleasure of attending another wedding that Siang photographed. In both weddings the bride and groom felt like the photographs made their weddings seem that much more beautiful and fun! Nothing but rave reviews on his genuine, comfortable approach to wedding photography, not to mention the gorgeous shots.
