That process was straightforward - kiosk and then check in with a staff member, who told us our refunds would be automatically issued. Check in with United was also quick. Clear signage towards security which was also a smooth process. Overall, minimal wait times to get through the airport. Huge Duty Free as soon as you get past security. Definitely spent a good hour here shopping for items. Picked up Spanish wine, some duty free exclusive gin, snacks, and jarred goods. Signage towards gates was also clear and easy to follow. Quick stop by the lounge and then made it to our gate as they were boarding. Overall smooth experience.

Restroom prior to security was clean and the stalls were individual and the door had no cracks in them for anyone to peer inside. Security was pleasant. Once past security there are 2 upstairs areas with floor to ceiling windows to see outside and plenty of comfortable relaxing chairs. One is also geared for families. There is also a small children's play. There is also a souvenir/snack shop near the gates. The prices were high (normal for airports). All staff that I encountered were pleasant, professional.

One can use the bus/Metro/Airport shuttle. We have a 9:00 a.m. flight and I risked not taking the cab and used public transportation. As it turned out there were plenty of routes to get to my destination. Yes I allowed extra time just in case I have to take the cab. I plotted my bus route and as it turned out there was an even faster route when I local noticed that heading to the airport. One bus transfer later we have arrived. We were early so we had to wait until the check in folks gets situated. We got our boarding pass and away we go to security. The security check was a breeze and I didn't even have to take my shoes off. VAT refund... a tip... make sure you scan your receipt before going through security. I didn't realize that the scanner was before the security so I had to exit and scan my receipts and go throught security a second time (it wasn't a big deal since it was quick). I headed to the Tax Free window and I got my refund right away im dollars. No mailing and waiting required. It was a good overall experience.

The…read moreexcellent public subway-train lets out near here, and this is where you fly out if you're on a discount airline like Iceland Air. My second time I got here very early and security was a breeze. I do like that they are checking to make us safe, as opposed to making sure we have no shampoo. I found the wait comfortable, and I was able to have my very limited luggage plastic wrapped while I waited. I was able to get one more nice espresso. You do have to pay attention to the shifting check in teams, the airlines share and you have to pay attention when your airline steps in and takes over. You may need to take a bus shuttle from the departure gate to your plane.
