A great piece of Florida history. This historic site is inside the Canaveral National Seashore park and so has a national park entrance fee for the vehicle. After entering you travel about 1.25 miles (just past the Apollo Visitor's center to the River Road turnoff on the right-hand side of the road. This road will take you by the parking areas 7 and above. There are signs for the turnoff for this site. I believe that it is about parking lot 8. Parking lot for this location is a fair distance (about 300 yards down the road) from the physical structure and the river. It is a beautifully restored house to museum for the time period. Upon entry we were greeted by a park ranger. He offered and we watched a 13 minute video. Following that we looked at the displays in the first two rooms of the house. The staff member was very friendly. Outside the house there is a dock to the north and a walkway and trail to the south. We did not go very far along the walkway. If you are a Florida history fan, this is a must-see! read more
