I really was leery about staying here and it being such a small town. But I must say this was one…read moreof the best hotels I've stayed in! It was super clean from top to bottom, they had a wonderful breakfast that was kept very clean and organized and my bed was so very comfortable! The sheets and pillow covers were so soft! We were greeted with a smile by every employee and it actually seemed like they loved what they did! I don't normally encounter such a warm reception at a hotel. I highly recommend this hotel! Who would think that Heath, Ohio would have such a great place!

I reserved a handicap room with a roll-in shower in Ohio. When I flew up, I found out they gave my…read moreroom away. They tried to put me in a standard ADA room with a tub instead. Since I can't get into a tub, I asked for a shower bench or chair. I was actually told it was *my* responsibility to bring one! I told them no--I rented a roll-in shower, so it is their responsibility to provide an accessible setup. When I mentioned that the situation felt unsafe and that I'd be forced to sue if I got hurt, they kicked me out of the hotel. No other hotels in the area had an accessible room available, so I had to drive 30 miles in the opposite direction just to find a place to stay. I've been emailing back and forth with the General Manager since it happened. He literally told me to get out of his hotel, asked "who did I think I was," and told me I "must be privileged." Yes, I have all of this in writing over email! The front desk agent was actually very nice and tried her best to help, but the management is ridiculous. I've been so upset about this for days. Corporate and the helpline have been useless--they just told me I have to take it up with the specific hotel to rectify it. It feels like we have no rights at all. I have officially filed an ADA violation with both the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Ohio ADA Non-Compliance. So far, I've only received an automated confirmation that they received it. People need to know how disabled travelers are being treated! by the way GM after I said in email if I got hurt because I felt unsafe I would sue, while sitting at a restaurant after we left hotel to eat dinner. Emailing him back and forth he said I was being abusive to the nice girl at the desk. I wasn't even at the location. I had witnesses the whole time and I was not and no reason to be. She was very kind and doing the best she could.
