I brought my daughter to Elaine for her wedding gown alterations. She was highly recommended by several people and our first two appointments went well. I'm so disappointed to have to write this review. On the third (final) visit it was clear there was an issue as soon as we got there My daughter had requested sleeves be made at the first visit and provided the photo's of inspiration as requested by Elaine. They were not completed for our second visit and we were told they would be ready at the final fitting. We were also told several times "at the final visit we stay until everything is perfect". The sleeves were not even close to perfect, they were bad. We expressed to Elaine that what we got was not what we asked for and the sleeves didn't fit. She told us the fabric was very expensive and she was not going to keep cutting it. After several tries she told us she "wasn't going to do this all night" (we had been there an hour) and that we had now made her behind with other clients. I couldn't get over how rude she was. I told her we were staying until everything was perfect. She went back into her sewing area and never came back, she sent her assistant, Emily (who is amazing) back and forth. They then were unable to locate my daughter's veil and insinuated we provided the wrong veil. Again, her assistant stepped up and was able to get another veil from the bridal shop we had purchased from.. she even went and picked it up. Can't imagine what would have happened if they had not been able to locate another veil and if Emily hadn't been there to help. The dress was also too loose and she told my daughter she wouldn't take it in any further as she felt it would be more comfortable that way, maybe that's true and we would have been more receptive had she not be so snarky. I'm giving her two stars because the alterations were completed. I won't take it back there to be cleaned. I don't recommend her services as you may not get the same Elaine you got at a different appointment. Super disappointed. read more

I was referred to Elaine after another seamstress butchered my beautiful Mac Duggal dress just weeks before my wedding . Everyone was so friendly and positive. She was able to salvage my dress just in time for my wedding. read more

I had looked for someone to alter my wedding dress. When k asked friends about it, I got 4 recommendations just for her. Very happy with the work Elaine did on my dress. Very knowledgable and you can tell she's got plenty of experience. I like that for wedding dresses there is a flat rate fee and you can get as much done as you want. read more

So amazing! My mom passed away, and I had her wedding dress. Elaine was able to transform her wedding dress into a beautiful modern dress while still keeping most of my moms dress. She has decades of experience, and I have never been dissatisfied or disappointed with any of her work. Karens be warned; although Elaine herself is professional, diligent, and highly skilled, she is also a no-nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is, take-no-sh*t kind of lady, so don't expect any obsequious pandering or fawning. read more

I brought my bridesmaids dress to Elaine's. I told her I wanted the boning taken out because it was uncomfortable and I couldn't sit in the dress with it in there. It is a strapless dress so we agreed that if she sewed on the straps that came with the dress, she would take out the boning. Unfortunately, when I went to pick up the dress, I didn't realize the boning was still in the dress, I realized it when I got home. I called Elaine's and left a voicemail, telling them there was a problem with the dress. Still no call back. Why is there a man taking notes during the fitting if you're not going to follow the notes?? I only agreed to put the stupid straps on because she said it was the only way she would take out the boning. Also, be aware she does not take credit cards, only cash and check. No one told me this so I had to leave her house and go to a nearby Wawa to get cash. Get with times and get a Venmo account. read more

Very dissatisfied with the treatment and work provided by elaine. Got many dresses done for my sisters wedding. Sent a family member to go pick them up because i live out of state. My dress wasn't even ready! She had the dresses for over a month but decided to blame the consumer. When i recieved my dress i had asked for the cups to be removed (they weren't) and the sleeves began to tear the moment i put it on. She refused to refund me and told me to find another tailor. read more

I have had Elaine do a lot of work which I was satisfied with. Trouble came about when Elaine had a woman helping her. Regardless, the boss is responsible for their employees. I had given Elaine 2 summer blouses, waist length, with fringe at the hemline that I needed shortened because the waist length was a lower hip length on me. Soon as I got home I tried the blouses on and found they were not even touched. Yes, she charged me. I don't know if Elaine or this woman did the work, but as above, the boss is responsible for their employees work. This is true on any job. That was the last time I went to Elaine's. read more
