    a man eating mexican food
    Benji M.

First off, we were seated right away. The waitress helped us with chips and salsa then took our drink order. We ordered chimichangas and cheese dip. It came out so quickly. And it's AMAZING. You have to eat here. The salsa was fresh and perfect spice balance. Queso too. Our entrees were hot and absolutely hit the spot. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could.

Great hometown Mexican spot! If your tired of chain restaurants, chic-fil-a etc. ..check out Antonio's amazing family restaurant. There was a lot of space for large groups and it was el cheapo! Our waitress was so friendly and the service was fast. There was a good mix of locals and travelers eating here too. Its right at the 95 ramp by a gas station .. the motel there scared my man a little bit but he is just a big baby!! The salsa was excellent and they offer mild and spicy. The chips were pretty average but the portions and food were awesome.

    Such a cute place

Just wow! What a great place, wish it was close to where we live! Great atmosphere and great service. A family owned and staffed restaurant open since 2015 according to our hostess/server. The food was very good. Heads up though, the sweet tea is very sweet lol. Which I know people love but it may be too sweet for some. Personally I loved it.

Beef taco, chili relleno, refried beans (I asked for no rice), chips and salsa.

Thank you fellow Yelpers for pointing us here! I'm originally from southern Californian, and you know we are so picky about our Mexican food, so I'm always on the lookout for a great place. While this is not Baja/San Diego style like I'm used to, it is very delicious and I was definitely in my happy place. We stopped in on our way from GA to NC and had an amazing lunch. Lots of tables for large groups, service was fast and super friendly. Food was hot and delicious, and traditional Mexican music was playing. I had a Chili relleno, crunchy beef taco and beans, husband had the dinner nachos (was like fajitas on the chips with queso ), daughter had soft carnitas tacos and son had a quesadilla. Everything was great! The chili relleno was not like what I was expecting (either they were out of them and did a make shift or their recipe is very different - it was the beef, cheese and peppers all chopped together, no egg batter, but was so good so I didn't care). They also had a bunch of Mexican candy at the register so we loaded up on our way out. It's right off the freeway and will forever be our lunch spot when heading to see family in GA!

What an incredible date night for two chickens…read more Me and my emo girlfriend who I'm not allowed to look at sometimes came in on a beautiful crispy Sunday night looking for some rice and beans and tequila. We were enthusiastically greeted and sat at a lovely pod like table with chairs that looked like benches and were also attached to the wall. They were really comfortable and I liked it better than a normal table. I think everytime I go into a restaurant I'm gonna ask for one and if I can't have it I'll speak to the manager or yell at a minor or something epic like that. We were given salsa and menus and left to our own devices which is never good. My gopher girl asked for the hot green salsa and decided to eat it!!!!!! It was Pwetty fweaking cwazy if you ask me. Good mouth feel though I liked the salsa and it was even better with chips believe it or not. We order quickly with our very attentive and attractive server and spot some opps from across the restaurant. Tis okay their pod-like table was across the restaurant and they couldn't see us. Me and bae just gabbed and she allowed me to look at her! This is what happens when you pay the bill ;) I got a burrito and enchilada and rice and beans. You guys the best meal in the world is rice and beans. All you need in this life is a spoon and rice and beans to be happy, successful, beautiful, and fearless. Swear. Very good times. Although I do not think I will be back in Lumberton I enjoyed my meal and my time. Infinite love

Right away, the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming--exactly what you need when you've driven 3 hours to get here. The kids were restless and hungry. The space isn't overly fancy, but it's comfortable and casual, which worked perfectly for our group who each sat in a car for over 3hrs. Jess drove drown from Washington, NC and we drove up 3hrs from Hanahan,SC.We needed to stretch our legs and he kids needed to exit the car. No one made us feel rushed, and that alone earns big points when you're juggling babies and diaper bags. This is where Veracruz was a lifesaver, it was our first time here. The menu is packed with authentic options--tacos, fajitas, seafood, and house specials--and everything we tried tasted fresh and well-seasoned. The Al Pastor and Carnitas tacos were a standout--juicy, packed with meat, and served with that a cooked onion and jalapeño peppers, sliced cucumbers. Jenn ordered a beautiful chicken taco salad (lettuce, tomatoes, black beans, shredded cheese and grilled chicken breast), the 2 older kids each had a 3 chicken tenders and french fries platter, Jess and Matt ordered the Fajita Lunch#3- Shrimp & Steak fajitas with sauted onions and peppers and a side of yellow rice w/ refried beans and a side salad. We ordered 3 Tamarindo Jarritos and 1 coke. The Portions were generous and the food was very tasty. Even our 2 super picky eaters found something they liked--always a win with kids. Auntie Jess blessed her nephew and nieces with toys so they were fully satisfied and quiet for at least 10 minutes--that says everything. No one left hungry and only 1 meltdowns at the table. Yes, the 4 month old!!! Cindy was our waitress amd she was solid--kind and engaging. Our food came out hot and relatively quick, which is critical when kids are involved. Orders were accurate, and everything felt freshly made rather than rushed. Garnished with fresh, colorful produce. If you're traveling through Lumberton or just need a reliable spot for a big family meal, Veracruz delivers: 5/5 Authentic flavors 5/5 Generous portions 5/5 Family-friendly atmosphere 5/5 Low Prices It's not about white tablecloths--it's about good food, full bellies, and a table full of family, and this place was a perfect setting for an impromptu family reunion.
