When we finally got to this event, they welcomed us even though we were incredibly late. I have to give a huge "thank you" to them for that kindness and customer service. I enjoyed the show, but please take that with the understanding that this was my first flamenco show. The male and female dancers performed dances together and apart. They showed chemistry when together and there was still excitement and flair when they danced apart. However the stage was a bit small. I spent a bit of time experiencing mild anxiety that one of them would fall off the stage. It would have been nice to see them move freely on a stage with more space. The dinner was not the best. It was a mass produced dinner served as quickly as possible to people there for a show vs a dining experience. It was heavily salted for flavor. My partner left most of the beef meal on his plate, mine was a bit better. But the servers knew what to do and really moved the meal forward so we could all finish before we were too far into the show. I am glad I went, it was a fun evening for a first time flamenco experience.

Came here for the 10:30pm flamenco show, having reserved online a few days in advance. 40 euros gets you in to the show and includes 1 drink. It may seem a bit pricey (there are cheaper options in the city for sure), but it is 100% worth it if you want to see authentic flamenco in an intimate space. The seating area is not huge, but best of all, seats are kind of on an angle. So even if you are near the back, you can see the footwork. This is really great, because so many flamenco tablaos I went to in Andalucia were really cramped and basically if you are not in the front few tables, you cannot see any of the dancers' feet. Anyways, the calendar on the website will tell you who is dancing and who is performing on guitar and cante (singing). They get a lot of excellent artists here. The performance had one intermission and went until ~midnight. The dining area is at the front and the stage and performance space are in a smaller separate room in the back. Servers bring the drinks to you so you don't have to get up to go to the bar. Like many places in Spain, once you sit down you get a little bowl of nibbles, such as nuts. Overall, an incredible and moving experience with top notch performers. Plus, the location is very central, just a few blocks from Puerta del Sol. Because of the location perhaps, there will be a fair number of foreigners in the audience, but rest assured that what you are seeing here is the real deal.

We visited this Tablado on a Thursday during shoulder season, early April, there weren't a lot of people there but the performers did an excellent job and kept us all engaged, great experience. Of the 3 Flamenco shows we've seen in Madrid, the Tablao Flamenco Villa Rosa was our favorite…read more Starting with the decor---this place is stunning! There are ceramic murals covering the walls, and ornately carved ceilings and arches. The room is quite large, the biggest venue I've been too. I don't think there would be a terrible seat in the room, although if it was very crowded, and you were in the back, it wouldn't be as enjoyable. It would pay to make reservations early. The manager at our guest house made our reservations, and we got an excellent table, right at the corner of the stage. We just got the 1 drink that is included in the ticket price. I've noticed in some reviews that people are often not happy with the food at flamenco venues. I don't think food should be the main reason to go to a flamenco show. Some people might enjoy this, but I have never had dinner with the show for that reason. There are so many other great places to eat in Madrid, before or after. I think it is much more enjoyable to give your full attention to the performers on stage, and to be caught up in the passion and enthusiasm. I would suggest skipping dinner here, having a drink or two, and enjoying the entertainment. We thought this show and the performers were fantastic. Every place does things a little differently. One place had no male dancers, another had one male dancer, and Villa Rosa had two. I think they were my favorite part of the show! And it didn't hurt that they were both very attractive---one looked a bit like Robert Downey Jr. And they were excellent dancers, as was the female dancer. The singer and guitar player were quite talented as well. The show moved along at a good pace, not really slowing down, letting each performer show their skill, and building to a lovely and satisfying conclusion. Please don't let the fact that you're not permitted to take pictures detract from your enjoyment of the show. There are many places that don't allow this, and it is distracting to the performers. Also, it's a shame that many people are concentrating so hard on their phones and getting a picture that they are not in the moment. And that is what it is all about---just relaxing and surrendering to the beauty and passion that is flamenco. You will experience a night to remember.

We wanted non touristy place but then realized most flamenco tablaos are just going to be tourists anyway. Booking was easy online, and each ticket has a free drink (wine or cava or soda). We added the tapas for 2 for €38, which had a tortilla, iberico, olives, sausage, and cheese. In the end, we were pretty full from a late lunch and had a dinner after, so we didn't really need the food for the one hour show. We got the vip section tickets in the very front, but I think the second row is better. The first row is so close that you have to look up on stage, and the dust from the stage is blown at you when they dance. The live music was good, and the dancers were indeed really talented. The show was just the right length at 60 minutes. I definitely recommend the 6pm show so that you can head to dinner after!

It is a cozy atmosphere of perhaps 100 or so people in a half-circle around a small stage. Metal chairs could all use some cushion, or bring your thick sweatshirt to sit on for the 70-ish minute show. Intimate atmosphere, intense connection with the audience, passionate plucking on a flamenco guitar echoing against the curved brick. What an engaging performance by a couple dancers and musicians. Just the right length of time to give you a taste of this art form. No matter what their web site says, it is best not to have children under 10, or children who cannot be quiet or sit still enough to respect the performers, at any time of day or night. A child far too young for this environment did detract and distract from our show, and came dangerously close to the performers in this tight space. Be courteous, parents. Unless your kid is hypnotically enthralled by all song, dance, and instrumentals, do leave them home. Otherwise, this was a terrific performance preceded by a pre-show drink you can bring down to the cave with you to finish during the show. On a side note, I had no real interest in a Flamenco demonstration before, and only booked this because another member of our party wanted to go. However, seeing this show live in the cave, only a few feet from the stomping feet and strumming instruments, I must say it was a tremendously different and enriching experience than seeing a YouTube video or hearing a sample of this music. It was worth going, and a very enjoyable experience.

Admission included a drink, so I had a sangria and my husband had a vodka and orange. I was smiling so hard my face actually hurt, and I even bought a pair of castanets like the dancers use.
