We found this restaurant because it took over for Sky Bar and Restaurant and was one of the few options for us late at night.
A few yellow flags when we entered. There were only two other patrons in the restaurant and they were mainly drinking and eating some pre-prepared sausages. When we sat down and ordered, our waitress left us several times mid-order to ask the kitchen what was still available. One time she was gone for several minutes. It took a while getting through the order due to the back and forth and about 25% of the menu was unavailable (notably the Gambon/Prawns and the Hamburguesa/Beef Burgers).
The food:
Calamari - squid - a giant plate of very tender squid
Gambas al Ajillo - Garlic Shrimp - a giant plate of tender and gently seasoned shrimp
Chopitos - small fried squid - breaded and fried, this is sometimes what you get in the US if you order calamari
Hamburguesa de Pollo - chicken burger - I was a bit taken aback from the red chicken patty. But it's buried in the bun with egg and bacon and the whole thing works well together.
Huevos Rotos Jamon - Broken Eggs with Jamon - this is the first time I had this dish so I have nothing to compare it to. It's a pile of salted fries with two sunny side eggs and Jamon on top. I don't get the appeal of this as part of a meal, but maybe most people are getting this with a few beers.
I was expecting the absolute worst, but the food turned out to be surprisingly good. Simply prepared - most seemed like salt or salt + garlic. Nothing was overcooked. Ridiculously large portions. read more
