Purmamarca is considered a "tourist" town in this part of Northern Argentina. We were told that…read moremostly means loud folks from Buenos Aires. We were here in mid-December, which I surmise is pre-season, before the Carnival (harvest + traditional) party season starts. As such, many of the restaurants and gift shops in town were closed. La Posta was open and may be owned by the same folks who run the Terrazas de la Posta we stayed. When Gayle and I dined here, we walked in at around 9 PM and before we left, I counted 8 guests including us. Service was very friendly, albeit slow, but what was the hurry? We tried Llama for the first time, which was very good, but didn't taste like chicken. Add the regional versions of proveleta, bife de chorizo, and flan (share), plus a bottle of Malbec and , and we were set. La Cuenta was payable in cash and was a bargain for the cuisine and the comfortable atmosphere.

The desserts were delicious, specially the flan with dulce de leche. They also had some artisanal local beer. Well priced for the quantity and quality. In summary we loved it.
