As a solo traveler, with no Spanish, wanting to eat at the early-for-Spain hour of 7p, I found Carmela to be a perfectly suitable tourist-friendly restaurant. The waitress offered me and neighboring tables illustrated, translated menus where every dish literally had an accompanying picture. (If I spoke Spanish, I'd have taken advantage of the fact that there are definitely specials written in chalk above the handoff plane, only described in the native tongue.) When I ordered the calamari, she generously noted that a half portion was available, and when I ordered the seafood paella, she shrewdly pointed out that it takes 25-30 minutes to come out (American diners must always be in a hurry). I was shocked that the calamari only came with a lemon, and no cocktail sauce. It was cooked just a little - which is all correct - but it wasn't fresh enough to get away without a sauce. The paella grew on me as I ate. It was much prettier once I dug my serving spoon into it. Buttery and almost undercooked, I ended up polishing the whole thing off. This restaurant didn't serve the meal that'll make my vacation, but it wasn't bad.

the food at Pescaito is the best in my two weeks of visiting granada i went here 5 times! I never thought id love squid and now ill be craving croquetas in the states forever. There paella mariscos is the best I've ever had! The staff were amazing letting me try the different wines and suggesting meals for two! The best tapas are the gambas! Reserve outside seating for a patio vibe they are always busy (for good reason) but will seat you inside without a reservation as well.

We had lunch at this fantastic restaurant. They mainly serve seafood, both raw and cooked items. The seafood was so fresh. We had the mariscada which essentially is a tower of assorted seafood including a couple of oysters, shrimp, stone crab, scallops and crab. We also sampled their croquetas which were delicious and some of the best I've ever had. The fried anchovies were good, the batter was very light, not greasy at all. For dessert we had their homemade cheesecake and fried milk desserts. The cheesecake was very light, not dense like it's American counterpart. The fried milk was a bit too sweet for my taste. We also tried their house vermouth as a digestif. It was so smooth and slightly sweet, very easy to drink.

Ugh our first night and first meal in Granada came with super disappointment. Not sure if we came on an off night, if they had a new chef or change of ownership but nothing we ate here was good and luckily we didn't order more Seafood Cocktail - tasted like it was pre-made and sitting a bit. Didn't taste very fresh to us. Also came almost immediately which had us almost sure it was all already pre-made. Grilled Razor Shells - came very undercooked the first time out that we had to ask them to throw it back on the grill. It had a really strong shellfish taste to it. Grilled Scallops - they were Tiny. Not worth the price per unit. Assortment of Fried fish - if I had to pick one thing I liked this would be the one. On the salty side but we did a good job eating most of this. Seafood Paella - did not look very appetizing and indeed it was not. We each probably ate 2 bites and stopped....oh, and the portion we ordered was for one.... Overall we did not enjoy the dinner. Much better options available out there!

The seafood here is great and probably just as good, if not better, than any other seafood place in Granada in terms of quality. I went here a few times for good seafood and wine. They have a good selection of wines, especially local white wines. The waiter suggested Mencal for dy and Entremares for semisweet and both were great. The only downside is that each glass is almost 4 euros, a bit more pricey than other places. But at least the free tapas are seafood, like cooked shrimps. The seafood paella was good. It had tasty prawns, mussels, and squid. I liked how the rice had some crispiness, but I wish it was a little more moist. My favorite, though, was the grilled razor clams. I loved eating razor clams in Granada, but the ones I had here were my favorite because they were cooked perfectly with that flavorful sauce of olive oil, parsley, and garlic. Tender, meaty, and delicious. Overall, while the prices here are a little higher than an average restaurant, the quality of the seafood is great. Those razor clams with a glass of white wine was one of the most enjoyable meals I had in Spain.

Bright and cheerful. Great tapas with drinks. Fast. The seafood is fresh and delicious. The deep freed tapas are lightly battered. The fish napkins are cute. Seafood paella! Order drinks and eat tapas while you wait. Try the Pedro ximenez dessert wine after dinner!

Seafood soup. Yummy broth and nice and hot!
