food is great and lotsa food in a togo pack. love it eat there or take with. always excellent. we go outta our way fir this place. el patron is tops. read more

My wife and I ate there the other day and everything was excellent. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, food was excellent and they have serving sizes to match any appetite with a broad selection. The only downside that I could think of was parking, but due to their location it is more the cities fault than anyone else's. Looking forward to going there again soon. read more

This happened about a month ago; we called in for an order right before they were closing, as it states they are open until 10pm; it was around 950pm when my partner picked it up. I ordered my usual, 3 steak tacos; the steak looked like they threw together what was leftover right before closing, it didn't look like the steak tacos I ordinarily received. I got very sick the next day- I know they threw together whatever for my tacos, because they were pissed we ordered late. That was the last time we'll ever order from there, it makes me I'll to even think of El Patron. read more

Glad we came by here on a friend's recommendation. The carne asada tacos I had were delicious. The place was very clean and the service was solid. Will be back for sure.. read more

This place is the absolute best! We order takeout every week and the food is always fresh and hot. Love it!

El Patrón is a good spot for good Mexican food. Cesar and his staff are always friendly and prompt. The food is always good the Yolandas are my favorite, but I'm a sucker for the queso fundito appetizer too!Occasionally when we place a large pick up order some food is unaccounted for by the time we get it home and unpacked. This usually only happens if we order a lot of ala carte but is still frustrating. It may change the way we order, but is unlikely to keep us from coming back! read more

Nice and quaint. They treat out of town guests the same as their regulars- the opposite of the residents I have one across. Food was hot, as ordered and tasty. read more

Not bad for small town Mexican food. Service good Nice casual ambience Margaritas are good read more

Absolutely love their drinks! good polite Professional Service, fast yet delicious food would definitely recommend and we'll go again. Can't wait to try other things on their menu. read more

Let me just start by saying the guacamole is soooo so good. The tamales and chimichangas are probably my go to, and my 5yo daughter love lovesss the tacos! The service is amazing every time, and they are so kind! Also. You MUST try the horchata! read more

Amazing friendly service, giant margaritas, & great food. I'm excited to go back. This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. Not much on the outside. It's a small corner restaurant that looks like a diner. It was an amazing find. read more

It's a hidden gem in Edgerton, but in plain sight at the corner of the only stoplights in town! Why don't more locals come here?! Walking in you can hear upbeat music in another language, which just makes you feel like you're away for a little bit. You wana sway your hips and dance a little. Isn't that nice? We were greeted right away and seated during a non busy lunch time. After some time we asked the service some questions. Our server was really nice and helped us pick something less spicey and yummy for my little brother. Plus we got some chips and salsa!! You can't beat that! El Patron isn't just Mexican food, it's an experience, with the food, ambiance, music, and service! Our food came our fresh, piping hot and delicious on those green and red colored plates. Those proportions were huge. We needed a doggy bag so we could take the leftovers to dad to try. I really enjoyed taking my little brother here for lunch because he never had Mexican food. It's about authentic as Edgertion will allow. So come on in, order a drink and enjoy a little spice in your life. read more

El Patron Mexican Grill - el patron mexican grill - Mexican Near Me - Edgerton, Wisconsin

I'm usually the person who orders a quesadilla from the Mexican restaurants, I eat half of it, from there the left overs will be eaten by my fiancé after he's asked me for the 6th time whether I'm going to eat it or not. Never that excited. But this restaurant is wonderful! I had a seafood chimichanga, oh man was it awesome!! I would totally drive the 45 minutes to get here once a week, AT LEAST!! Someone find me a wheelbarrow!! And the drinks and dessert were amazing! All for a reasonable price! Can't be beat!!! read more

Good food. Fun staff. We have been going here ever since they opened. The food is good and the staff are very friendly. I just wish it was wheelchair friendly. read more

Great place! Very Friendly! True Mexican food for a good price. Once you go there you will always be going back as a regular.

The food was decently tasty. But it did not come with what was said on the menu. She waitress was not the brightest in the world, she brought us all our dishes with cheese and sour cream on them even tho we asked for there to be none. It is just an inexpensive quick Mexican place, nothing more, nothing less. read more

Amazing food , amazing staff and great drinks. Will definitely come back many times. Best chips ever.

Where's the cheese?!?!? I was hoping it was just the cook that day. We ordered cheese quesadillas and cheese enchiladas.... And seriously? I though it was a joke at how little cheese they added to this meal. I even complained to our waiter... Who made me two more enchiladas which looked pathetic! Slight (and I mean slight) sprinkle of cheese! Cheese is not that expensive people! :( Will likely try again and order something without cheese. (We are in Wisconsin right?) read more

Yum! Went on a day they were swamped and clearly understaffed at the time and somehow they lost my online order. I still give them 5 stars because the woman working clearly cared. And worked hard to get my order complete and keep me happy, even though she was so busy and clearly dealing with rude customers. Also the food was amazing!!!!!! read more

Agree that this is a welcome addition to town. The food is very authentic and the margaritas are great! Service is top notch and the wait staff is very friendly. I usually try the specials they have and they are always good - the standard fair of tacos, burritos, etc can't be beat either. Portion size is VERY generous! Love this place! read more

This place is really hit or miss. Food is definitely better when they are busy. If I order when they are busy the food is really good. Both times I've ordered when they were slow I'm pretty sure my burrito was microwaved. And food was not so good. Service is good and friendly. Really like the salsa. read more

I tried this restaurant twice when I first moved to Edgerton. Both times the restaurant was dead (the first there were two other tables and the second visit there was one) and the service was awful. I vowed never to return after our last visit. I got fajitas. They were dry, flavorless, and I had to ask FOUR TIMES for them to bring us my tortillas. We even had to ask three times for silverware. read more

We live right in town and order take out from here once every week or two. This place never fails. I love the chicken chimichangas they have this amazing queso on top. My husband loves anything with their beef or steak. Tonight we got dessert (fried ice cream and chimichanga cheese cake) and OMG they both were so good we at them first! Highly recommended!! read more

This is not real Mexican food and if you go after lunch specials after 3pm the prices are very high I would rather go to Chili's or Applebee's and save some money. read more

They have decent food & friendly staff. The only thing I noticed, was that it didn't seem like they had enough servers working to cover the amount of tables at the time. The server they did have was a nice guy, though. read more

Was in Edgerton over Christmas, we stopped in El Patron because it was the only Mexican place around. I was interested in how good a Mexican restaurant would be in such a small village. I ordered a chicken chimichanga, my favorite at most restaurants. When my meal came out it was very different from what I am used to, it was more like a fried burrito than a big fried square. It was SO good, the chicken was moist with tons of flavor and the guacamole that went with it was also very good. read more

Pretty darn good for a Mexican restaurant in small town Wisconsin. Good service and good food. You can't go wrong with, El Molcajete, for dinner and you'll have enough to take home for a second meal. Our server, Mike, was knowledgable and had great advice about the menu. The larger margarita was, for sure, the way to go and his recommendation on the carnitas was spot on. The was Salsa is good, but like most Mexican restaurants in these parts, they cater to the Midwestern taste and make it a little bland, so ask for the hotter stuff and combine the two. read more

Come here all the time when at Hidden Valley. They have a pretty wide variety and authentic food for a reasonable price. The service staff is pretty friendly. Its an older storefront type of building so during their busy times space can be rather crowded. I recommend the Chili Colorado and my dinner companions said the shrimp dishes were very good also. read more

Not bad at all. My wife did not care for the food, but I found it pretty good. Strangely it was slightly below the quality and slightly above the pricing of a Mexican restaurant in Janesville (I'd expect the reverse to be true). The delivery service is nice too. Overall solid but not exceptional. I do notice a lot of sots drinking pretty much all hours the place is open so the drinks must be good, although I do not drink myself so I can't say for sure. read more

We stop here whenever we're in town. The fish and shrimp tacos are very good. That's pretty much all we get since we don't eat meat. Chips are good although they could be a little saltier but not a big deal. And the margaritas are tasty. I hope more people start going, I'd hate to see this place disappear. read more

The margarita was good but that's it. My tamale was ok, enchilada was edible and the beef taco was awful. I only took two bites of it (2bites too many) and felt ill the rest of the night. Glad I didn't eat more of it. I will not be back. read more

My family and I were here Saturday, Aug 12 2017. We came based on the existing reviews--DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! The food was borderline disgusting, the service was horribly slow, and we were belching the greasiness of their food the next 24 hours. We came here believing the reviews. First mistake. The menu is about 8 pages long, and very confusing--way too many options. I ordered a combination meal, and did not want beans or sour cream. By the way, when I got my bill, I was charged an extra dollar for that. We came in, and there were only two other tables there, but it took 40 minutes to get our food, if I must call it that. Later, the manager/waiter asked if everything was OK, and I said it was assinine to wait 40 minutes for our food. He told me I was wrong, and that was not true. Wrong answer. I always time the food at any restaurant, and it was 39 minutes--so I was off by a minute. For the poor quality of the food, it should not take 39 minutes. The horchata tasted like milk, and was not authentic at all. The chips tasted store bought, and there was visible grease all over my combination plates. There was absolutely nothing authentic about this place--and I know, as my wife is born and raised in Mexico, and I have traveled all over Mexico. For the six of us, we spent just under $80. Next time, I would recommend Taco Bell or almost anywhere else than this place. I know how they got their name EL PATRON, as their manager had a very patronizing attitude. To sum up: THE FOOD SUCKS, AND THE SERVICE SUCKS, AND THE PRICE I PAID FOR IT SUCKS. Choose anything else but this nasty food establishment. read more

Very glad to have this so close to home. I really like the mole sauce here. I haven't had anything I didn't like yet. I do wish the margaritas were a little less sweet/less citrusy, though. The prices here are great, I don't feel bad about ordering lunch from them a couple days a week. Very prompt waiter service. read more

My wife and I got take out from El Patron today! This place is truly a hidden gem. It is some of the best Mexican food I have had since moving back to the midway, and I lived in Chicago for 7 years! All around great food and great service! I highly recommend it. Delicious! read more

This is a top notch Mexican restaurant! Very nice people, delicious enchiladas verses, loved the decor! This should be a favorite of every citizen of this charming community. read more

Came here while in town for Christmas...it is my MIL's favorite restaurant in town and I can see why. Great food, great wait staff. I had the veggie fajitas and it was a huge portion of food (a tad on greasy side, but I knew what I was getting in to), my husband had something with shredded pork, and my MIL had the chicken burrito. Did not try hers, but it looked great. Tried my husband's and I can safely say you will pleased with anything featuring pork as an ingredient. Great score for a town like Edgerton, whose food options tend to be lacking! read more

This is the best Mexican restaurant in the area by far. We eat there as a family several times a month and the food is always excellent and the service can't be beat. I can stress enough how good the service it! :) The only Mexican restaurants that I've been to that are better are down in Texas! If you are in Edgerton, you have to eat here!! read more

Authentic and very good food. I've eaten at this new location as well as the Sun Prairie restaurant. Both were very busy at lunch time, so obviously popular with the locals. This new location is in a cool old building with a nice bar and a pressed tin ceiling. It will do well in Edgerton. read more
