Where do I start? So, we came to see the Willie Barcena show even though we have seen him here before. The seats that we got had us freezing the whole night with the entry door and cold air hitting our backs the entire night. Other times that we've gone there it's been like 110° and super sweaty inside, with our skin sticking to the plastic chairs. There were no VIP seats available this time and it looked like that area was roped off and nobody sat there but a few people that look like family or friends. Other times when we've sat in the VIP area it was like sardines in the back and super packed. We were hoping that the comedian wouldn't be drunk tonight‍, but we were sadly mistaken. We endured jokes about how women are dumb and weaker than men. He talked about how older men are with much younger women in other countries as he degraded women further. He went on to degrade women's private parts and how they age in comparison to men's after giving child birth! During this horrible show, we asked our waitress at the beginning of the show for two bottled waters because there was a two drink minimum. The waitress proceeded to bring us tapwater on four different occasions and finally brought us our bottled water towards the end of the show that we had paid for. Thank God, we had already gone to eat at West Texas Chophouse because we weren't going to eat the food there. We've tried the food there and it was not good.This place needs to get it together. read more

I will never go to this place ever again, and neither will my friends who came with my wife and I. So as two married couples in El Paso, Texas on a Saturday night I offered to take my friends out for drinks and some laughs! I reserved a VIP booth, and four tickets. We all showed up to see Daryl Felsberg, showed my ID for our tickets; but the club gave my RESERVED booth to some random single guy! Four tickets I reserved let me remind you, and they gave my "VIP" booth to some rando, and had to clear him out before we could be seated. First comedian was terrible, just a long stream of ramblings. The waitress was ok, she checked on us a few times. The club smells like vomit, and the booth looked like a hobo slept there on the floor! Felsberg was telling the same jokes he's been telling for the past few years. Nothing new except for some reason decided to talk about his heart attack? This was supposed to be a comedy show, not an episode of Dr. Oz! Halfway through the show, the ticket taker person decided to interrupt the show we paid money for to look for that rondo's phone in the seats and underneath us! WTH? Then the "comic" got butt hurt that HIS show was interrupted, and told us to STFU back there!!! At this point we were beyond annoyed for giving up our VIP booth, the show was terrible, to interrupt the show we paid for to look for some dudes phone, have Mr. Daryl "Not Funny" Felsberg cussing at us, and then to be kicked out for interrupting this CRAPPY comedian??? El Paso Comdey Club online ticket purchase was easy and convenient. Gave us great upfront seating and the place is very clean and spacious. We really enjoyed ourselves. The host started the night off with some.great laughs and Theodore was a great starter before the headliner John Henton. The crowd was really respectful and laughing away with us. It was great time. May not be for the younger crowd but the older crowd was getting a great show. The two drink minimum was too bad. They had a full bar and even offered some champagne bottles. We didn't try the food, but maybe next time. Would have preferred during shows that the place opened up for mingling. read more

My group had an amazing time when we attended a show here for a friend's birthday. The club itself (tables, chairs, lighting, stage, etc.) is a lot nicer than what I expected compared to other venues this size in the area. The service was really great and the people who took ids at the door were funny and personable. I didn't have a mixed drink but the people in the audience who did seemed to really enjoy them. The comics themselves were hilarious. We saw 2 comics from Houston and both really interacted with the crowd well and I think it is more than fair to say that everyone in my group had a really great time. The comics stayed around afterwards to talk to audience members and they were very friendly and professional. Personally, I believe there is huge difference between being funny and being rude to guests. There were two men at the front by the cashier who had a condescending attitude and rude manners while we were paying for our entrances. They gave off an ignorant vibe and I felt disrespected as a first impression upon entering the club. Leave the "comedy" to the performers on stage and learn to be gracious hosts if you're going be at the front. The serving staff was professional and nice. read more

Visited while I was in town for work. My friend begged to go so I gave in. Tickets were $25 but luckily it was free for military There was two acts. When they were speaking English they were funny. Both comedians spoke a lot in Spanish - I don't speak Spanish so I was left wondering what people were talking about. Not a fancy place. Food is bar food and very limited in choices. I ordered two Moscow mules. 1st drink was in a short cocktail plastic cup and my 2nd drink was twice the size. Confused ‍ I think my Moscow mule was a canned drink poured into a cup. So if you buy your tickets early and you pay for VIP, don't expect anything different. You will wait in the same line as people who are purchasing tickets in the moment. The only thing VIP gets you is a booth seat way way in the back. Your waiter will get to you when she gets to you, so VIP is a water of 22 dollars... Yes I know, you get what you pay for. The drinks were pretty weak. I feel like I paid grey goose prices, but got absolute instead. The nachos were lacking enough chips too really satisfy your hunger. The chili however is pretty tasty. The comics were hilarious. I would definitely come back, but not as VIP and I would go to the first show because the second show started extremely late. read more

This is the coolest place ever!! The staff is so friendly and made sure we were good all through the show. The comedians that were here tonight were hilarious. I'm so happy I had the opportunity to attend tonight and can't wait for more shows. They offer food and drink for decent price. Well, I finally made it to the El Paso Comic Strip store. I love love love comedy clubs. I've been to a variety of different clubs in major cities across the U.S. and I realized I would likely need to temper my expectations of El paso's only comedy club. First, let me start off by saying that I think its great that El Paso actually has a comedy club. Second, even shabby comedy clubs can really come to life with the right crowd and comedian. Sadly, my first experience lacked either components (headliner was a little weak and my gf and I actually walked out. First time ever. It was just sad). El Paso crowd was def older and we barely filled out a third of the venue. However, the crowd was very polite and no one was obnoxious (which is always a possibility at comedy clubs). Third, show was supposed to start at 930 on a Friday. I purchased my tickets online. By 935 we were still waiting outside waiting to be let in just to get to will call. This is a weird way to do business. Im used to doors opening up a little earlier so people can get drinks and relax. Not swelter outside. Fourth, the interior is very plain jane/john (let's not be sexist shall we) with small circular tables evenly spaced in rows. I didn't notice any elevated seating areas or differences in the seating. Hey, it gets the job done but I felt it lacked any charm. Fifth, drinks were solid and strong (we did order doubles) but this place is very expensive for El Paso. I'm prolly just spoiled with how cheap some of the places in town can be, but I thought 80 bucks was expensive for 4-5 drinks (vodka sodas and vodka redbulls no less; again, I concede we did order doubles...but still). All in all, if the right headliner is in town, I think this would be a fun date night. But there is def room for improvement. read more

What a fun evening!!! It's definitely worth the $12 on a Friday night and they have military discount as well. We were a group of 8 and arrived one hour before the show so luckily we got good tables but make sure to not show up too late because it filled up pretty quick. The show was really good and different comedians entertained for at least 2h. The location is inviting and the chairs are comfy. The light dims down and you feel like in a movie theater. The prices were reasonable I think and our waitress was very friendly and even throughout the show she regularly checked on us. If you need a laugh and want to be around people who love to laugh, this is THE spot! read more

The El Paso Comic Strip is where it's at. The only real comedy venue in EP and they do a great job of continually bringing big names to the city. EPCS reminds me of the opening scenes of Seinfeld. Small stage, dark, and inviting like a bar. There's adequate seating and can comfortably fit around 200 people (I'm guesstimating). Plenty of tables and space at the bar. The venue itself isn't large per se, but it isn't cramped. Drink prices could be described as astronomical. I paid over $7 for a Hypnotic and Sprite that was mostly Sprite and ice. However I don't go to the Comic Strip for the drinks, but if they had better prices and more experienced bartenders that would actually score higher with me. But I'm always happy with the waitresses that are speedy and never forget about their tables. They'll come by periodically and discreetly check on you without interrupting the show. The food available is limited to nachos, hot dogs and the like. But you're at a comedy club, I'm not expecting steak so it's just ehh. A good place to catch a show and enjoy a night out with friends. read more

This place is an easy hit or miss kind of scene, but im mostly judging it from my one night of the comedy show with their special event featuring the amazing Rob Schneider! Rob is truly an amazing guy and i think the only reason why we were still standing in line outside the door was possibly the meet and greets he took his time to do. We paid for a show at 10pm which said doors open at 930. We get there earlier than that even but didnt get seated until a lil past 1030pm. Still worth every minute since it was Rob freaking Schneider! Lol So there's a highly encouraged 2 item purchase minimum to keep funds going for special events as such. Not too much of a problem except for 5 bux nachos, please have the decency to serve chips that arent so obviously stale and old tasting! And the cheese that went with it.... im not really sure it was cheese. It was jus this yellow dip stuff, i swear. Really revolting. The place seemed dingy like a underground bar or rock band shows. There was the choice of sitting a max of 4 per small (and i mean SMALL) table or at the bar. The tables were cozy enough considering how packed it was that night with little mock candlelights. Thankfully beers are served in bottles as well and not just tap. I would hate to buy a half glass beer that was mostly foam. Whats odd was that they told my husband they would also need to charge for iced water from tap. From TAP?!?!? Thats unheard of. And 2bux a pop!!! Inconceivable! Luckily they didnt but we would have a big issue if so. And originally i tried to order my nachos from the bar and at first, one guy was fixing to get it but then a more manager looking guy stepped in to say, "it would be easier for the waitress at your table to order it".... uhhh ok. Cuz then i didnt even get to place the order from my table until about 15 mins later and then the food didnt come thru until 20 or 30 mins after that. Yea, much easier, thanks. Douche. Im sure he meant easier on them. I like to think that maybe it was cuz of the influx of orders at the bar for the night with Rob. Well lucky for them, my husband and i had a really great time from all the laughs, even with jus the opening acts. So we are still considering coming back for other shows. Just not so much for food and HOPEFULLY not be charged for water. read more

Really cool place to hang out with friends. Inside is pretty spacious and you can order some snacks/food/drinks. Quality for the food is not really high though. That's the only downside of this place. It's like movie theatre type of food. I think Wednesday, Sunday and I forgot but there's one more day you can get in for free if you have a military ID. I'd totally come back on a Sunday night with my husband to enjoy some drinks and good laugh. read more

I always have a good time, the staff checks on you enough, the comedians are always good for a laugh at a reasonable price, the drinks normally come pretty strong that is a huge plus. The downside is that they don't serve any real food. read more

Its nice to have a place you can go for entertainment for a few hours with good acts you've actually heard of! The people here are helpful with the seating and I've yet to se a server with a bad attitude. Be sure to bring a sweater though. They keep the air jacked up until about 20 min before the show ends, at which time they seem to cut it off entirely. Fun place! read more

This is a review from the future! Eric Schwartz AKA Smooth E performed April 8th-12th and it was AMAZING. He even had this quirky dude with extraordinarily fluffy hair named Ryan Broems performing with him. Ryan had me dying from laughter with his hilarious view at his extremely unfortunate life, then Eric literally blew the roof off the place with his unique awe inspiring act. Miraculously, I was at every show with hundreds of friends and they delivered like true professionals every single time! I bought a bunch of Eric's sweet t-shirts and tipped the club staff 40% like a great American should. Usually I say, "wish you could've been there!" Forgot to post this review weeks ago! Lol I went to see Chingo Bling and he was funny. They had another guy there who's name I can't remember but he was hilarious. Judging the place, it's not too shabby looking but it was dark when I got in. I felt like the waitresses were very nice and helpful but they took a little while to come check on us in between drinks. Also, you guys need fries! Omg I was craving fries so bad to snack on!!! Ha ha but other than that it was great! Very fun experience :) read more

They offer hotdogs, nachos and such but the quality of it isn't all that great. Although I must say they do have an array of drinks available. TERRIBLE service. Need to get rid of the girl in the front. She is rude. Not just to those in the birthday party we were part of but other people in the patio were complaining as well. So was the guy that was"controlling" the line. You know, it isn't OUR fault your show is running an HOUR late. Plus, why are you taking people who don't have reservations over those that do? You have to pay for water from the tap. it's only $1.00 but still it's water why would you charge for tap water and then you have a two item minimum once your inside. I would say don't come here at all. read more

The staff was super friendly but the comics were both stale on the night I attended. The bottle water price was through the roof. They try to get the best comedians the can to come and put on a good show, and they are doing a good job. Comic Aries Spears was great. Club was nice but the bar was slow and drinks lacked Alcohol. My table ordered 2 Long Island ice tea and 2 margaritas only one margarita was acceptable and when we told them they spoke to the manager who said sorry we can't remove it from the tab but you can order something else. Bottom line drink beer there, they can't screw that up. And get there early the lines are long. read more
