Huge thanks to Ms. Josie, the heart of the school, who makes every family feel welcome and supported. We are especially grateful for Ms. Kim, who turns every day into a celebration of learning. She inspires her students to challenge themselves, be independent in life skills, speak up for themselves, and grow into kind, confident, curious, and strong thinkers who make smart choices. She has taught so many families -- including siblings -- for decades, and the fact that families keep coming back to her says everything about her heart, dedication, and talent. My children have thrived here academically, socially, and emotionally, and we are so thankful for this incredible community.

My youngest has had Ms. Gabby and Ms. Destinee - both wonderful teachers who genuinely love children. You can see the warmth radiate out of them. Their high energy paired with their patience and ability to teach young kids amaze me daily. My oldest recently came out of Ms. Peace (who is incredible!!) and is now in Ms. Lavanya's class, the care that both teachers provide my son have been immeasurable. Not only do they provide a safe space for all the kids, they take the time out to learn about each student. All while providing follows up to how my son is doing and informing me of his advancements. I know my kids are in good hands at MRA. Their curriculum is beyond what I could have imagined. They truly follow the Montessori and STEAM way.

My 2.5-year old son loves his new school! We just moved to sugar land (Riverstone) and had the…read moredaunting task of having to choose a preschool (daunting because sugar land has so many great options). Despite it being new and unproven, we ultimately went with kiddie academy for a few reasons. First and foremost, the director Sarah is amazing. She has a strong vision for the school and is a perfectionist. So even though this is a franchise of a chain, I really felt like Sarah was going to put her stamp on it - everything from quality teacher recruitment and training to the school's chef/healthy menu to the curriculum adaptations. She has many years of early childhood education experience, great connections, and is ambitious. The leader of a school is paramount (and I found some questionable and disorganized leadership at the other schools I researched and visited). Sarah is sharp, responsive and easy to communicate with. The staff and students love her. The other big reason we went with this school (and believe me we researched about a dozen, from Montessori to Reggio Emilia) is because the facilities are fantastic. Big, beautiful, naturally sunlit classrooms with just enough brand new toys and supplies and books (without feeling cluttered or overwhelming). The outdoor play area is awesome, and they have future plans for a splash pad and soccer field. There's also enough room indoors for physical play when it's too hot or rainy to go outside. And the security system is top notch. I love the flexibility that this school gives parents - they offer infant education through pre-K (so our soon to be born daughter can join her big bro at the same school). Their extended hours are the default (6:30-6:30) though you can opt for fewer than 5 days/week if you prefer. They take very few holidays - which is key for working parents. And they use the latest technology (apps and live streaming TV) to keep parents in the know all day/week long. I love being able to see how my son is behaving, adjusting, eating, napping, playing, etc. The only big question mark I had was about really small classrooms (since the school is still new, opened early 2018) and an undeveloped community of parents, teachers, etc. I think that still remains to be seen, but my very social son has been very happy in his first week there. And I've loved my conversations with the teachers. They are warm, helpful and supportive. When I picked my son up yesterday he didn't want to leave. Excited to help this school develop and establish a strong presence in the sugar land area. Message me if you want to know more.

It's been 3 months that our son (20 months) has been going to FCMS and we see a world of a difference in how independent he has become and continues to do so. Ms. Ana is very patient and engaging with the children and they love her. She took a lot of trouble to get our son used to the school since this was his first. Now he looks forward to going to school everyday. As parents we are always in the loop with what is going on with our son (emails, newsletters, cameras), so it puts us at ease as well. We toured around quite a bit before we decided on FCMS and so glad we made this decision. Would definitely recommend FCMS many times over.

Another huge plus: they provide healthy meals that actually encourage kids to try new things. Our little one went from being super picky to being open to all kinds of new foods, thanks to what they serve at school. It's been such a supportive environment for both our kids, and we really feel like they've grown emotionally, socially, and academically because of their time here. I have…read moreasked the director, assistant director, operations manager, front desk staff, and teachers to be transparent with me regardless if it's positive or negative. My child was 18 months when I enrolled her and My child loved going to school. Unfortunately that only lasted 2 months and the lead teacher had to leave due to personal reasons and was not planning on returning. The school was already training a new teacher to be lead but did not inform any of the parents about it. When I asked when the former teacher would return they told me she would be back in a couple of weeks even when they knew she was not returning. the teacher told me herself she was not coming back and she said the owner knew about it, but lied regardless. Once the new lead teacher started, she was taking many days off because of personal reasons. She later informed me she was not working physically at the school and was helping remotely. The school never informed me of this. In fact my child started behaving out of character. she said she did not want to go to school and would cry at the hand off in the front. When I inquired about this, They made me believe it was my child's fault when in reality they knew the issues they were having. When I had my parent teacher conference with the new lead, she disclosed many many things to me. She mentioned that she has been out of the classroom for sometime and that my child was not the only one crying during hand off. She mentioned that many parents complained about kids coming home with diaper rashes and not being fed properly. She told me it was so bad that she was going to call licensing herself. She Also gave me recommendations to another school because she told me I should take my child out. They were combining two classrooms together of children from 18-24+ months because they were understaffed. My child was sent home with a dirty diaper multiple times. When I asked for before and after pictures of my child's lunch I was told by the owner and director that I should just assume that she doesn't eat in school. I told her this is not helpful especially when my child is in the 6% in her weight. They said they provide chef prepared meals but I have shared pictures of the food that's provided. Their grilled cheese is just two pieces of cold bread with cold cheese, their fruit is canned and served multiple days in a row along with the canned green beans. Their chicken nuggets are frozen. I've even been told by an ex employee that they freeze the fruit and if they don't have enough time to thaw it out then the kids are eating frozen fruits. I was told by a different ex employee that they recycle the food too. I expressed the concern of not being able to speak to my childs teacher on a daily basis to get updates and that it's concerning how secretive they are about things. The teachers actually seem scared to tell parents anything. Yes they once had an amazing reputation which is why I chose TLVS, but that has all gone down hill once they moved locations. I know of many parents who have taken their children out of the school. They claim that all teachers are certified but not all of them are Montessori certified. They also have violations on the Texas Department of health and safety. Check them out. Today when I was dropping her off to class I saw one of her teachers being rough with a child and that child was crying. This is not the Montessori way of dealing with an upset child. You don't just squeeze their hand tightly and pull them across the room to sit by themselves. I could tell the teacher was overwhelmed and the teacher did not have an adequate assistant teacher in there to help. The person who was in there was a front desk employee who was in there just to have a body in there for ratio reasons but was not actually helping. So glad I'm sending her to another school and she is finally happy again!

Our family moved here from out of state with no assistance in childcare from friends and families as parents we both worked . We were looking for a program that not only had morning and after care programs but also had an academic curriculum . This school had it all in one location with with morning afternoon and evening staff,And Special events coordinated Witch solved the problem of having to find many different places for our child to grown comfortable in with a stable healthy, loving of and enriching environment . From the Very first tour we loved this school more now then we did that day. hummingbird Montessori has always had a very diverse community within its walls and they have done an excellent job of providing unity and recognition to all having another child in the FBISD school district. This location was amazing and that they followed suit with the FBISD calendar, making certain holidays season and special events something that we were able to converse in our home about in unison. And schedule our family accordingly. They provided so much room for individualization within the structure of the school it's amazing to see how the school runs so smooth and cares for you and your children's needs with daily prepared meals ,standard , vegetarian, gluten-free options they provide You with monthly calendars And lunch menus. They have a parent communication system where you have the ability to communicate with teaches throughout the day if needed and the post pics of special events throughout your child's day . They individually recognize the child's birthdays on a monthly calendar, and they provide them with a beautiful ceremony at school to acknowledge another year of life for the children. My child has. Flourished here at this school starting at 2 and a half un potty trained (when they see the time is right for your child to be in the potty training experience, they have you as a parent commit to doing your part at home as they commit as a School to doing their part. my son was fully out of diapers. By the time he was three thanks to the assistance of the school and their commitment.) and moving to 4 years old he was moved through the classrooms at a time that was approximate for him. and went from a more relaxed, age-appropriate schedule to actually learning and having a curriculum that are geared towards kindergarten My 4 year old Speak clearly Knows his alphabet and there's sounds , shapes ,color ,the days of the week And says words like (reflection) regularly in the older classrooms class starts at 8:30 AM and ends at 2 PM. and it feels so good to know that during those hours my son is being enriched with many different subjects. Every child is different and because they recognize that it's amazing to see how these kids grow. With the genuine, love, care and appreciation from the staff that they have working for them. The owner of the school and her family are very involved and have gone above and beyond to not only provide an environment, but establish a staff and community that go above and beyond to not only just care for your kids, but create a beautiful community, acknowledging many different things in a safe space. that promotes a healthy loving family connection. This school has been a blessing to our family My family has been able. To focus on rebuilding our lives and business in this community with the comfort of knowing that our child was always in good hands at any given point in the day.
