Stopped in Burgos to check out the Cathedral and needed a place to eat. We walked by several streets and finally landed at El Mitico. Glad we did because it was a great experience. The staff does not speak English but the manager (owner ?) does. They have indoor seating or a nice outdoor patio. They have a lot of options on their menu. Try their zamburina or octopus. They also serve a whole lamb leg, bring it out to your table and slice it up for you. Paella takes 20 minutes, we opted for the seafood option. It was ok, not spectacular. Tried the blood sausages, they were good. Three pieces in the appetizer dish with eggs. Loved their fat fries. Tried their cheese veal schnitzel (cachopo), it was good. It's battered so it'll be heavy, better to be shared so you can taste other items. There's a gambling machine and cigarette vending machine. Decor is nice. Complimentary house bread to start. Great dessert options, including tiramisu, although we did not try them because we already had so many other desserts throughout the day. Great spot if you're in Burgos! read more
