Why do people call this place romantic?! You could call sh*t "manure" but it still stinks. Yes,…read morethis hotel has historical value and Lorca stayed once here (1star). The hotel location is perfect if you are exploring neighborhood and SUBTE line is nearby. (1 star) The breakfast was a-ok. BUT...The place has never being remodeled since latest Lorca visit and literally in shambles. Rooms are covered with dirty smelly carpet of unidentifiable color, the furniture inside of rooms came from Garage sales, holes in the walls, worn and stained linens, windows covered with plywood, waste stays in the toilets. Trust me this is not the full list. If you are into history come by to visit the lobby, enjoy the tea in the saloon nearby and don't get lured by low prices.

i was always wondering how elephants b.o. smells like and finally got my answer in my last two…read morevisits to this hotel. still wondering how it managed to get through the door but from the room smell it was clear it managed to do it. i complained at the front desk in both occasions but got the here comes the overly sensitive gringo vibe which usually starts with an -i completely understand, followed by a slight rolling of eyes. this hotel used to be nice right when it was opened and before they let elephants stay there but it seems that since not much was done to keep up with the wear and tear of the wild. also corrientes avenue is a little bit more, how to say it, jungle than it use to be, which would explain the change in the nature of the patrons of the hotel. personal note: i have nothing against elephants, some of my best friends are elephants.
