From start to finish, we truly felt like we were in the best hands possible. From the very first phone call--when I called to check if they had X-ray services for an emergency--the staff was kind, patient, and reassuring. I stayed home with our other son to avoid additional stress, so my husband went alone. And if you know, you know... sometimes men don't always relay medical information clearly . Despite that, the team did an amazing job explaining everything to him, giving clear options, and making sure he understood the situation. That alone made me feel comfortable and reassured from home, which meant everything to me as a mom. I was especially nervous about the entire process, but the compassion, communication, and professionalism of the entire staff eased so many of my fears. We feel very blessed and extremely thankful for everyone who helped us that day. Thank you so much to the entire team for such outstanding care.

It did take about 30-45 minutes to be seen by a doctor but the nurses were very attentive and checked up on me during the waiting time, gave me a blanket and made sure i was comfortable. The doctor addressed all my concerns and i felt better within 24 hours after visiting. I will definitely recommend friends and family to this care.

So I went on a Thursday at about 1pm and was out of the ER by 2:30pm. I interacted with a lovely, blonde lady at the front desk, 3 nurses, Dr. Oscislawski, and an X-ray tech. Everyone was pleasant, professional and respectful. Very different experience than at another local ER I've been to. The thing about Yelp is have to consider that people are hurt and sick and if the care is not as expected, they will more than likely write a review if they felt they received poor care. And that is not to diminish anyone's lived experience. But how many will write reviews to praise staff and their experience? Interestingly, the X-ray machine was brought to my room (the gentleman explained that it's because my issue was smaller and could be done this way but won't apply for every x-ray). The kind woman at the front desk (I hate that her name escapes me now), came to my room and asked for my payment, which I thought was odd. Perhaps, a portable credit card machine might be a better option here. No disrespect to her but I'm not letting anyone take my credit/debit card out of my sight. So I just paid after I was discharged and leaving. The lobby was empty so that might not always be an efficient way to do it for them. For me, my issue was not life-threatening but I was handled with care and will definitely be bypassing the other ER for a better experience at Abrazo.

They put some glue and Steri-Strips on the open wound and sent us on our way. The bill for this was 2,000$!!! And another SEPARATE bill from the PA that "helped" for another 200$. After speaking with the billing department all they could offer is a payment plan. Good grief...... I am seriously in shock. I will never use any Abrazo facility again.

Nobody would inform me as to what's going on and why it was taking so long for me to be seen. They just managed to say oh we're extremely busy in the back however I saw people come and go that came in after me. One lady you made a comment oh my God she's still here pointing at me. The PA was the most horrible vile person I have ever met in my life when I finally did get called back to a bed it was not for triage. I directly asked the PA to help me as I was in severe pain and I was sick. I was not hostile nor was I in any way shape or form threatening. The next thing I know I have a security guard standing at the foot of my bed saying that I was complained about by the PA. It was extremely annoying and very rude and unnecessary. The security guard left after I explained the situation to him. Next thing I know I'm being taken back out to the waiting room where I sat for two more hours over in pain and vomiting. I was the only one in the entire emergency room. I watched people leave that I had seen come in after me the excuse that they didn't have a bed was a complete lie. After hours of again, waiting in the emergency room, I was taken back to a bed and nothing was done for me except a blood draw. The PA would not come and talk to me and the nurse was nonexistent. I went for a CT scan where they found. I had a kidney stone and a kidney infection. These findings were dismissed by the PA as she barely spoke to me, walking by my room telling me that they would culture my urine for the kidney infection to see what bacteria it would grow. Meanwhile, I left in extreme pain was given a shot of Zofran for the nausea after 4 1/2 going on five hours now, then just discharged. Does anybody know of a good lawyer who handles men malpractice cases?

When the doctor finally came back, he told my wife she had cancer on the liver with metastasis. We were absolutely terrified. He scared us beyond words. We decided to get a second opinion at another hospital. Come to find out, they were hemangiomas -- completely benign. No cancer at all. That older doctor had no business delivering a devastating diagnosis like that without being sure of what he was reading. He should be retired. On top of the emotional nightmare they put us through, the bill came in at $41,000 -- and we're stuck paying $3,000 out of pocket. It feels like they were just running the clock and ordering unnecessary outside services to charge the insurance company as much as possible. It's outrageous, and it's no wonder insurance costs keep going up for everyone. Do not go to this emergency room. It is hands down the worst. Between the misdiagnosis that had us believing my wife was dying and the astronomical bill for incompetent care, I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

I explained to them that unfortunately I was uninsured and unemployed, but I was wondering if they could provide treatment because I had severe pain all over my body after being in a 3 vehicle collision just an hour ago. The receptionist said yes, and they led us to the back. After they took my vitals, I was informed that I would need to pay a $600 deposit before leaving and I would be billed the rest. I explained that I didnt have $600, which is why I had explained my situation upon arrival. They told me I would be charged the $600 regardless of whether I stayed or not because they were already providing the service (taking my vitals), so that I might as well stay. I was made to feel like I had no choice to I started calling relatives to ask if I could possibly borrow the money. I was advised to leave and decline services, so I politely informed them I wanted to leave and they could bill me the $600 later but I didn't want to stay. On my way out I overheard the receptionist tell the nurse that she HAD told me about the $600 upfront cost, so I turned around and corrected her. I reminded her she, in fact, had not. Why would I accept a service I knew I couldn't afford ? She then snapped back and me and basically recanted her earlier claim to the nurse by saying, "We are not LEGALLY OBLIGATED to inform you of any costs, only to provide you care." I told her it wasn't fair to disclose to patients that there is an upfront cost until AFTER it's too late to deny the charge. They deliberately waited until they took my vitals to inform me of upfront cost. She insisted that she did nothing wrong as she was following the law, and I walked out. Please don't go to this location. Do not trust people like this with your health. Taking advantage of people needing this critical service is a disgrace. Beware

They even allowed a family member to transport me so I didn't have to wait 6 to 9 hours for an ambulance to be available. I had a great experience. Caring kind staff. Miguel was the first nurse I met. He was professional and knew so much. He was training a new nurse and he treated her with respect and guided her kindly. He said she was going to be an awesome nurse! I agree. The teamwork, kindness and details taken were great with me and others. The doctor and specialist were so kind. The neurologist cleared me and with my facial numbing spreading the doctor offered for me to stay one more night if I liked for observation. I like how they have transporters who's job strictly is to take patients for testing or to the door to be released. The bed was comfy. Even the transport beds. The hospital room food was delicious. The nurse Ashley I had the next day was great as well. Sometimes you have to wait for a nursing assistant. They probably could have used 2 on the floor as busy as they are. Helpful hint. My roommate was not allowed to walk on her own and if it took a long time for the NA to come she we found if you took some weight off the bed it sets off a loud alarm. They come right away! =) She was very kind and understanding as a patient. It works both ways! My mom had watched the girls while I was there as my husband gets to work all Labor Day weekend, and she is a feeder! Our one our daughters went to bed with a tummy ache and woke up nauseous. She began having fainting spells. Knowing it was her vagus nerve I didn't panic, but it continued to happen and she was tired. I played safer than sorry after talking with her on call pediatrician. They recommended a visit so we were back, but in ER. Patients screaming in pain, yelling, crying had me in tears as I do not do well in hospitals. I heard doctors and nurses giving comfort. Reminding patients not to apologize as they understood they were in pain and that it will be okay calming them down kindly. Working so well together and being professional. Patients walking right up to the doctor station asking questions rather than waiting received kind answers and comforted. Amber, a nurse was really getting a hard time from a patient and she took it like a pro. Treated him well and kept on trucking. This is what patients want to see. This is what the hospital wants to hear and knowing that Banner reads their reviews I thought it was important to share. Funny how we can't wait to get care inside the hospital then can't wait to get out! They do a good job getting paperwork fast so you can be on your way. Makes room for the next patient faster. If you are coming to visit a family member who is arriving by ambulance just walk in emergency entrance and the security officer is on the right. I like how you check out and they go over all the treatment paperwork with you. It now has a handy QR code printed on it so you can pull up all tests results, like blood, MRI and CT scans for example. That way you can be prepared if you need to follow up with your primary care doctor or specialist.
