OK, so it's only a 1 star hostel, but it has everything you need. It's clean, quiet and private. My room had a comfortable bed, a tv and a private bathroom with a tub. Free Internet access! The place is quiet, the neighborhood is nice. I found the owner, Maria, and her family to be very helpful. I don't speak Spanish. They don't speak English. We made small talk. When I had something important to say, I translated it on my laptop.( Maybe you have a translator on your phone.) I got immediate action.
Puerto de Santa Maria is a nice town. This is where Columbus had his ship built, the Santa Maria (of the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria fame) Historic town, nice shops, great beach. Certainly worth your time.
There is a grocery store just down the block from the hostel. Easy to get food. The town has affordable clothing, shoes, and is just a nice Spanish town.
I enjoyed Maria and her family. I am planning to visit again this summer. read more
