a car parked in front of a food truck

This place has moved to 329 N Las Vegas Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89101. When I got there, I noticed that the man making the food wasn't wearing gloves or a mask and using his hand and the spatula to flip the tortillas. I walked to the window and he KEPT trying to flirt with me, I told him that I had a boyfriend and asked if he could wear gloves. This man had the nerve to get an attitude and make our Carne Asada quesadillas sloppy. I'd already paid for the food and I didn't feel like getting into a confrontation with him in front of everyone, so I took my food and went home. I started eating before my boyfriend, and noticed a mildew/sour taste. I asked my boyfriend to taste my quesadilla before he ate his and he got p*ssed. THE CHEESE WAS BAD!!! I called El Grullo Taco multiple times that night, but it was already late, so I tossed my food and we kept my boyfriend's untouched Carna Asada quesadilla so that we could take it back in the morning. I called this place 15 times between 9am to 12 PM, and I later discovered that it was the cook's personal cell. When they finally opened in the early evening, I was able to bring the untouched food back with the receipt. I told the cook that prepared our food late last night that his cheese was bad and that we couldn't even eat our food last night. HE GOES OFF!! He starts cussing at me in Spanish and saying, "NO! YOU CANT BRING FOOD BACK! NO REFUND! YOU SHOULD CALL ME LAST NIGHT, NOT COME TODAY." I explained to this man as he was yelling that I called him multiple times. He called me a liar and I showed him all the calls from my call log. He says, "NO, CALL ME NOW! I SEE! I SEE!" So I called his cell again and it goes DIRECTLY TO VOICE MAIL. He heard this and had the nerve to get silent. Then he yells, "Well, WHY DIDNT YOU CALL MY OTHER NUMBER? WE HAVE TWO!" I told him that I did, I EVEN called the Pump and Snacks gas station that their food truck is parked on the side of JUST to get the first number that I found. He tells me that those men don't know a thing. So I show him the other number I called. Y'all we deada** argued for 15 minutes about "why I didn't call him." Eventually he looks at me and yells, "Well, what do you want?!" I told him I just needed a refund for the untouched food. He asked me why we ate the other quesadilla, and called the second one bad. I told him that I didn't want to bring the first quesadilla back to him when we'd already took bites out of it. We could have asked for a refund for both, but we ONLY asked for a refund on one of the meals. My boyfriend wanted to go to the food truck and demand a full refund, but I felt bad about trying to return the partially eaten meal, so I only brought one with me. I HIGHLY REGRET THAT SH*T NOW! I told him we discovered our food was bad by tasting my quesadilla. This man was unbelievably ignorant and tried to intimidate me into leaving by yelling at me. I stood my ground and he looked me in my eyes and said they don't offer refund, but he'll make me another quesadilla. He had a smirk on his face! I'm p*ssed at this point and told him that where he's storing his food isn't a proper place if the cheese was able to go bad. He brought me an up-opened bag of cheese and told me this is what it looks like. I pointed to where he was storing the food he was currently using and told him that it's unsafe when you leave it sitting OUT like that!!! I yelled that I didnt want sh*t else from his truck. I told him his food is going bad the way he's handling it. I told him that I would be going to the BBB and the Health Department to report him. He laughed and said I could do what I wanted, so I filed a few reports. He's gonna continue NOT wearing gloves and making people sick with his improper food storage. This place is going to kill someone. I called it first.

It is like any typical taqueria, nothing really extraordinary. I ordered asada tacos and was a bit unimpressed. There was a lot of meat but it was very dry and flavorless. I appreciated how juicy the limes were and the salsa verde was nice, but it was all very underwhelming. It was about $13 for the three tacos, so I expected them to be a bit better than what they were. Despite being a little busy, the food came out pretty quick. This spot is quite dingy. There is a lot of open seating but it is dirty and unkempt. When we were eating there, there was a homeless man seated inside screaming, ripping up newspapers and throwing them around, and playing with a lighter. Although there is an understanding that this is not a fine dining establishment, I think it is a bare minimum standard to host an environment where guests feel safe. It is very loud in there and very casual. It is accommodating for both small and large parties without prior reservation. Maybe the other menu items are better, but if you are looking for tacos, this would not be the best option.

Hands down one of my favorite and most affordable taco spots!…read more It's located next to a busy plaza so parking can be quite difficult They're open daily 10am-2pm. Definitely recommend going when they first open because otherwise it doesn't matter the time or day of the week, the lines are extremely long! Love how spacious the restaurant and how organized it is! Once inside the restaurant, there are several lines and you just line up according to which meat and item you want. The longest lines are definitely the asada and adobada (pork)! Once you reach the front of the line, you just tell the staff which and how many of the item you want, as well as any customizations to it. After you get your order, you just head to the cashier line and paying is so easy and convenient! Pricing is reasonable. - Tacos, tostadas, taco aztecas - $4.12 - Sopes, quesadillas, vampiras, & mulas - $7.54. - fries with meat - $22.18+ - soft drinks - $3.31 Arrived at 11am on Sunday and it was already super crowded. Stood in the asada line for at least half an hour but the wait was so worth it! Got 3 Asada Tacos and the tortilla was so soft, hot, and fresh. It was stuffed with plenty of tender beef! The beef was packed with flavor and marinated so well! The pico de gallo was so delicious, as well as the salsa and guac. The Horchata was ok and nothing special since it wasn't made from scratch like the phenomenal tacos! Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and my food. Definitely would recommend and return!

We spoke for a bit and he had a nice table set up for us right at opening. We enjoyed their brunch service for 6. It was dish after dish of foods that were wonderful and we finished it off with churros and chocolate mousse. Very good food presented very professionally. That and a few drinks made for a great Saturday the 25th. If I were to make any criticism it was the music was way too loud. Blade twice went to turn it down but somebody else in the staff kept turning it up to what even seemed to be Blades frustration. Made it a little difficult to have a comfortable conversation. Maybe at night when the atmosphere is not nice dining and more bar club the music should be that loud. Regardless we had a wonderful meal and a nice experience even if we had to speak loudly to each other. Blade the server was a huge part of the overall experience.

I had shrimp al mojo and it was delicious! The shrimp was covered in a garlic sauce and they expertly recommended I add rice with it. The rice paired perfectly with the dish. When they called my name, I went to the counter and notice that they got my order wrong...they gave me a pollo asado taco, instead of a pollo asado burrito with cheese. I swear I had told the lady that took my order that I wanted a pollo asado burrito, but perhaps I was wrong, or perhaps she was mistaken with what I ordered. Either way, I am not one to make a fuss, as restaurant workers already work hard (especially the workers at this place), so their ears didn't need a brat like me to give them an earful about getting my order wrong during peak lunch hours. Anyways, I pointed out the mistake, and mentioned if I can order a pollo asado burrito. An older gentleman (who appeared to be the owner/manager/someone important) working behind the counter said don't worry about it...he'll make the burrito and call my name when it's ready. I thanked them profusely, went back to my seat and didn't even finish my al pastor taco, because they had called my name in less than a minute. WOW! That's customer service right there! I wouldn't even put The Taco Stand on the top of my list of best mexican food in Vegas, even though their food is pretty damn good, but with customer service like this, they've made the jump on my list, and I'll be returning to eat there more often!
