    Pizza and draft beers
    Thim P.

Looking for a local brewery, come here for Happy Hour 2pm - 5pm. $40 pesos for a pint, so ask about their seasonal beer. Friendly staff and good services. Also dog friendly.

This place was fun and chill. Loved the beer and the atmosphere. The service was great and well attended. The pizza had fresh veggies. The stuffed mushroom was good and cheesy. Nice and crispy bacon. The chicken fingers were decent but would suggest another option.

Get off your Clydesdale and realize you're traveling in someone else's country. It's not their responsibility to make sure you are pampered because you failed to research the location to which you traveled. UGH. Anyway, this bar is awesome! You go up a set of mildly janky wood stairs (don't worry, there is a railing!) up to the first floor of the bar. This is what I call the Video Bar section. They boast proudly that there isn't any WiFi so guess you better learn to socialize! There is a medium-sized bar to fill the area, bar stools on the outside railing overlooking the Malecon, and you can basically choose the music/videos you want to watch. Keep going up the stairs and you'll find yourself in the swankier live music, sofa, stripper pole section of the bar. Here is where you go to see the bands play while sitting in a somewhat comfortable sofa or on barstools, or if you prefer, take a twirl on the pole. Maybe you'll make enough pesos to go buy another insanely affordable cocktail. The owners make a point to greet you and make you feel welcome when they are at the bar, and you can't miss walking by with that cool mural on the roll-up door. Definitely go hang out here, chat with your friends, twirl the pole, and enjoy your night!

It was a happening spot, but not really my favorite, in part because it made my face bleed (more on that in a sec). YamBak next door was world's better. The advantage here is that Don Pato is huge, with a few spacious levels, the first spilling onto, and the second and third overlooking the square. I enjoyed that view, as well as the general liveliness of the bar. There were a lot of people hanging out, mingling and drinking and dancing. There was live music at times, including a band that played a jazzy cover of the Pink Panther theme song. The drinks were pretty standard--shots and bottled beers and such--and I think I only had one here (our first visit was just a scope-out, our second a deep night outing after several hours next door and in the square). While I waited to order, the bartender dropped a bottle of beer and it shattered dramatically. One little shard made it to my cheek, where it slashed my face a couple inches from my left eye. It was a very shallow cut that didn't even hurt, and that healed quickly (the scratch was barely noticeable even the next day), but it did bleed for a while. Not a big deal, but I was surprised when the bar charged me for my one beer. It was like $2 or whatever, not worth arguing, but like, come on, if there's ever a time to comp someone a cheap drink, it's probably when she's bleeding before your eyes. Anyway, I still had a good time, and my beer (I forget what it was, but I hadn't had it before) was refreshing and tasty, totally worth a couple bucks. I don't know that Don Pato is a great drinking destination, but it's worth checking out if you're already out in Sayulita. Flying glass aside, it couldn't hurt.

We came to Don Pato's on our first night here and had a lovely night in their upstairs area. The drinks were strong and the crowd was outgoing and friendly. We made some quick friends when we initially sat down and then spent the rest of the night dancing to their cover band - which did an impressive job of covering everything from the Rolling Stones, to Radiohead, and Bob Marley. There was a nice and relaxed vibe throughout Don Pato and the band seemed to really be enjoying themselves. Both are usually strong indicators that you're in a well run place. Trust.

After looking up good places to go, Bar La Playa came up- and I'm sure glad it did! First, it's easy to get to if you're coming from North. Our Uber was easily able to drop us off without getting stuck in gridlock traffic that can affect certain roads of this area. Additionally, the location isn't a high-traffic area for tourists. That meant we were able to walk up and immediately find seats. Second, the service was top notch. I didn't get the bartenders name, but he was very welcoming, friendly, hospitable and spoke English. Just an overall cool dude and was glad to support his business. Third, the drinks were great. Finally, we were drinking 'real' drinks, not the watered down sugary stuff at the hotel. We were very satisfied with the taste of the drinks. Fourth, the prices are really good. Mexico has gotten expensive and this was a sigh of relief. You can have a great time here without feeling like you paid an arm and a leg. I highly-highly recommend making Bar La Playa your first stop when coming to this area. You're going to get great service, great drinks and all at a price that is reasonable and fair.
