Baby croc

Book an appointment through facebook. Tours run approx hourly and runs for about an hour. Requested 'donation' for the tour $300 pesos per adult and $200 pesos per child. The road here is a little bumpy, unpaved and basically a single lane dirt road with some wider sections for passing. Have space right on the entrance for people to park their cars. A few animals in the sanctuary, some turtles, coatis, parakeets, and different species of crocodiles. Also a brief walk to the lagoon where the crocs get released to to show you the habitat. Lastly is a section with some bones and fossils for you to touch. And lastly a baby croc is shown, the one we saw was blind. The guide allowed us to touch it but not hold it like others have mentioned, so a pretty big letdown for the kids.

El santuario de cocodrilos es excelente. The sanctuary focuses on rescuing, rehabilitation, and releasing crocodiles and other species back into the wild. Caesar, a biologist, led our tour - he was very knowledgeable and did an exceptional job. A new must see for us each time we visit PV.

This was a great way to spend about 1-2 hours. It was very informative and thought-provoking. Our guide was a marine biologist who spoke great English and interacted really well with everyone. He engaged the kids on the tour with questions and funny info. He allowed us to get up close with an adult croc and a baby. There were other animals to view and pet. We learned a lot about crocodiles and mangroves and gained an appreciation for what this sanctuary is all about. The guided tour was about $10 usd per person. The ride in via the dirt road added to the adventure.

Highly highly recommend this place!! I loved learning about all the animals being rehabbed. Cesar was a fantastic tour guide with so much information about the mangroves and animals.

My husband and child went zip lining while I enjoyed a couple of margaritas (best I had in PV) and read in the restaurant. The food was delicious, my daughter loved playing in the river, and we got to hold a toucan, a lemur, and a marmoset. Overall, a fantastic experience at a reasonable price! Something to be aware of--the seats on the boat aren't very comfortable and my back and hips hurt a lot by the time we were halfway across the bay. Taking the truck might be better for people who need a backrest and leg room.

Our guide told us "go order your food, then go enjoy your photos with the animals while you wait for your food" this was smart advice. I am not one that is a huge fan of animals, but I will say that the staff was very friendly and really was patient with us and the animals. The food was amazing! It may be a little pricer than other areas, but you are paying for the experience with the animals too. There is no cell reception at this location, and there are signs to swim at your own risk in the water below the restaurant. I really wish I could have done a canopy tour that included the zip lining as it looked awesome from afar! But I was still happy to settle for eating sat the restaurant and interacting with the animals. Pro tip: if you're American and paying with a credit card with no foreign transaction fees, be sure to have them charge you in pesos to your card. You'll thank me later

We got the tickets and animal food which was roughly $40 for two adults. We had our toddler with us in the stroller. The zoo goes up a kind of a steep heel which becomes downhill towards the end, it's a bit narrow; pushing the stroller in the hot and humid weather is not not easy; I'd rather stay by the pool and have a couple of margaritas haha. Oh and go to the bathroom at your hotel before or after... it wasn't clean and was missing toilet seats oh and you have to purchase the paper! Oh and bring mosquito repellent.

The negatives - it is a roadside zoo, have to walk to the parking lot to get reception to get an uber. The paths are steep - very very steep. Up and down. The enclosures for the most part are satisfactory but there are obvious gaps in zoo keeping standards in America and Mexico. Don't get me wrong, this would not be out of place in the US. But could definitely do better. Seemed to be two working the front counter/gift shop and just one lonely guy out on the paths near the ostrich and flamingos. Sweeping the path. Come prepared with bug spray and toilet paper - although the gift shop sells both. Absolute must do. No cafe. Just some drinks and snacks in the gift shop. PS the drive here is long and winding and you feel like you might be going no where. The nearest little community is pretty poverty stricken.
