Who doesn't like ice cream, chocolate at that on top of a lovely and warm brownie? No one…read more After feeling a bit heavy and weighed down by mucho carne during this week trip to Buenos Aires. A bit of sweet creaminess is always a nice balance to the heavy protein entree. The chocolate ice cream was a nice cooling accompaniment to the warm and decadently rich brownie, they played well together.

Oh Volta. I adore this place so much that I have visited each location of this ice cream shop…read more(most multiple times). I have not once been disappointed in the quality of the ice cream. It always lives up to the hype. It is the best ice cream I have ever had, hands down. I like to have one scoop of a dulce de leche based flavor and one scoop of a regular cream based flavor (American cookies does quite nicely). I've also gotten the takeaway and it's been just as good in my hotel room as it is in the store. After my first visit in 2013, this place always tops my list of places to visit while in BA.

I loved this little cafe. First, it is located in a pretty scenic street with big beautiful trees…read moreand a lovely street with nice architecture. I visited with my brother, his girlfriend, and his cute dog. We sat outside on a Sunday afternoon, but the sun wasn't strong and our waitress brought our dog a little plastic dish with water. He was happy as could be. My brother ordered some beer and I ordered their mint and ginger lemonade. The pitcher is the way to go, because it comes with a good 2-3 glasses. I wasn't sure what to order, but the table next to us had their food come out and it looked great. The presentation of the dishes here is good. I ended up getting a ham and cheese sandwich, my brother ordered the supreme burger, and his girlfriend ordered a pizza. Everyone was happy with the food, but if I did have any critique it would be with the fries. My brother received 5 fries and I think I had 6 fries on my plate. Seemed a tad bit skimpy on the fries, especially since they were pretty good. This place takes credit cards which is nice since it is not cheap, but considering the quality and service I would say is fair. I would love to come back on my next visit to BA. Do yourself a favor and try the mint and ginger lemonade. It was real good!

First things first - the icecream was delicious. I had Italian chocolate and cookies with dulce de…read moreleche. Both were really tasty. I felt it was pretty expensive, but I'm still only getting a feel for the cost of things in BA, so not sure how it compares to other places. Unfortunately the whole experience was overshadowed by the bad attitude of the lady who served me (I think the manager?) - in the middle of taking my order she decided to take issue with 2 staff members about something which seemingly happened a few days earlier. So mid order I stopped talking so she could berate them (in front of me) then after finishing my order/paying she didn't bother to pass my full order onto the poor guy who was meant to prepare it for me. Left a bad taste in the mouth for what could have been a good experience given the quality of the icecream!

The food was ok, nothing special - I asked for a cheesecake that was not so good, it tasted like eggs. I also asked for a Nucha Cappuccino that tasted ok. Prices are ok, not too expensive and not so cheap, depend on what you ask. I ended up expending around 180 ARS (13 USD) for these two things.
