Barbacoa, tripa and carne asada all TJ style
    Victor L.

Another good meal here. We used In-Kind deal where if you spend $50 you get $25 off. I went nuts and ate 6 tacos along with a side of rice and beans. Tripas are still my favorite here. Al Pastor here is excellent as well. The carne asada was too beefy for my wife but I enjoyed it. The carnitas is my least favorite here. I loved their guacamole sauce when you order it TJ style. The rice and beans are standard and will fill you up if let's say I only ordered 3-4 TJ tacos. I also love their handmade tortillas. They are soft and perfect texture. I went overboard today but so worth it! I came on a Thursday evening. Our server was very attentive and she had double duty mopping the floor. The restrooms here are clean. Spotless actually. This is my favorite TJ style taqueria.

El Bombero on Story Road in San Jose has good food, but the service still needs improvement. The flavors were solid and consistent with what I like about El Bombero, but the overall experience at this location fell a bit short. Not to mention, they don't serve all the meat options under their two dollar taco deal like their other locations. Service was extremely slow. It took a long time for our waitress to greet us, bring menus, take drink orders, and deliver food. We were a large group, but we arrived before the lunch time crowd and the restaurant was not busy at all, so the delays were noticeable. I am a fan of El Bombero and enjoy their other locations, especially the truck locations, which tend to be more efficient. This spot may just be working out the kinks since it is newer, but for now, I will stick with the other locations.

This spot has taco tuesday!!! All tacos are $2. It's kind of odd that the tacos are not on the menu, but if you know, you know. We've been a fan of the food truck and we're so glad they opened a sit down restaurant nearby. Their tacos are also so delicious. They do the lengua and tripa very well. I did notice that on the receipt, they automatically apply tip (or some sort of fee on each item). Just make sure to review it before paying. Congrats on the opening!

Seen a lot of influencers trying this spot so decided to give it a try. I walked in and was sat down quickly. The server came back 5 minutes later to take my order. I ordered 2 tripas and a lengua. Felt like I waited for a long time for my tacos at least 20 minutes. Tacos looked good. There was no salsa bar or radishes, something I've come to see in lots taco places. My tripas were chewy and and the lengua looked burnt/ overcooked. There were dried pieces and some of the pieces were hard. I came late at night so maybe the quality was lacking. I'll have to try their taco Tuesday and see.

Well, I was super excited to visit here but was stunned at the lack of organization while there. I visited their taco trucks before and absolutely loved all the flavor in the tacos. Of course the classic Chicharron is so good. We arrived right before it opened and patiently waited in our car and watched the people outside set up. We went in right at 10 when they opened on a Saturday. We were quickly seated, which was great, but upon ordering our food to go, they informed us it would take an extra 10 minutes for the Chicharron to be done on top of our wait time. We said fine. Well we actually ended up waiting a lot more. It took us total around 35 min to get 2 burritos and 2 orders of chicharrón to go. The guy outside grilling the meat brought us an order, which to our surprise was not ours. The waiter came over and took the order that belonged to someone else. We waited some more and finally got our order. The burritos were a good size which I was glad about considering it cost $16 per burrito. I was shocked at our total price before heading out with our meal. Pretty pricy considering the many taco shops near by. There seems to be a lack of communication between the waiter and the people outside grilling the meat, causing so much confusion with orders. There wasn't that many people while we were there so I was kind of shocked at how much confusion there was .... I can only imagine with a bigger crowd. Beware the music is really loud in there. I think I'll stick to the taco truck next time. But as always the food is really good. The taste of everything was fresh and the molcajete sauce is perfect.

food was ok. potatoes were smaller portion that we thought. quesabirria taco was salty and soggy. was not that impressed. their regular tijuana style tacos were pretty good though! The charred flavor does overpower a bit so it's definitely up to personal preference on whether that bothers you or not. i liked it , but my friends did not care for the char flavor.

I came for the $2 taco Tuesday. Which was not the case. I ordered 5 tacos and it came out to $26.31 I asked her I thought it was taco Tuesday and she said only chicken. I let her know that they need to have a sign up or something because the owner promotes it as if all types of tacos are $2. If that was the case I would have gone somewhere else to eat tacos by my house. What a scam!!! Also it took like 45 minutes to get food and place was empty. This place really needs to get it together man. Imagine if I only had enough for $2 tacos. That waiter Jazmin really sucks man.

The carne asada cooked over coal (or wood not sure) make some of the best carne asada tacos I have ever had, with a smoky flavor. I like the salsa verde with avocados. Watermelon aqua fresca was very good.

Today was their grand opening and I enjoyed being there during the ribbon cut and waiting in line for down free tacos! Grand opening and free tacos!? Who wouldn't enjoy that! The speech they made was very sweet and heartwarming. The way to order the tacos was outside of the restaurant which was held better than having it done inside of the restaurant. The wait time for the free tacos was very reasonable but also a bit faster than anticipated. We had received chorizo, carne asada, and al pastor. The guacamole salsa, onion, lime and radish portion was incredibly thrown on perfectly! The seasoning for all of the meats tasted amazing! Thank you to all of the hard workers who helped prepare the taco and ensure the wait time was done in a timely manner! I will definitely come back to purchase some tacos and to order some drinks!

Someone partying in the back???? Look at my cup

This place is horrible.. small little parking lot. Asked for a simple super burrito, they missed one of the main ingredients "beans" and sour cream and cheese.. they remade it supposedly and made it the same but just added beans. They kept insisting to remake it but no.. im not playing inspector for the rest of the night lol and also got a cup wich was dirty and looked like someone was doing cocaine in the back . Also received cold tacos with raw tortillas? .. first and last time here.. no flavor either. Eww zero stars

The food does not disappoint every single time.. no matter the location or the hours you go it is always fresh made to order, you can tell within the first bite. The service is great and efficient! I went during lunch hours to this location and it took about 20 minutes if not less. The restaurant looks nice and clean as well as the restrooms! Definitely excited that they opened up a location near me

Lots of take out orders and dine in orders. I ordered 5 super tacos to share with different meats (pollo, carne asada, al pastor, carnitas and chorizo). The super tacos come with cilantro, onions, avocado, sour cream, cheese and pico de gallo. All the tacos come with homemade corn tortillas - you could tell they were fresh. The tacos are big, not small at all. The carne asada, carnitas and pollo was my favorite. Al pastor was good as well, chorizo was not that flavorful for me. However, they also have 3 types of salsas (green, red and a creamy orange) you can use to help add some more flavor if needed. I plan to come back here to try their burritos and tortas as well next time.

The tacos were good and the tortilla they used was quite thick. The enchiladas had good flavor as well, and I would be interested in trying their enchilada with the verde sauce next time. Their prices have steadily risen over time and they have updated their menu prices as well. One thing that elevated this restaurant to 4 stars is their sauce! The red sauce and green sauce recipe is definitely unique compared to other taquerias. The red sauce bottle helps with the flavor tremendously and without it I would have rated this place lower.

We were seated at the booth in the back, which I have always admired, but I now realize it has its disadvantages. It is right by the bathroom, which got a bit of traffic on our visit. That's not such a big deal. The bigger concerns I have are: (1) there is no cushioning for those of us with little of our own and (2) you have to sit up fairly straight and if you want to lean against the wall, you're likely to rub shoulders with the wall hanging. Next time I will ask to be seated someplace else as there were two 2-tops outside. The food is always made from quality ingredients and I'm glad to see they are experimenting with pricing and quantity. I did not see mention of their daily happy hour, which was a feature of last year's visit so that may be gone. However, they now have a five tacos platter which offers relatively good value from the menu prices. This would be good for sharing for two people I think. But that is not what we ordered on this visit. My wife ordered two vegetarian (verduras) tacos and the Blood Orange/Jalapeno mocktail. I ordered the huevos rancheros. Unlike Luna, tortilla chips and salsa are not complimentary. So we let our appetites build. Our food arrived fairly quickly, so that was good and we dug in. My wife had ordered two extra eggs (extra charge) to accompany her tacos, and I think she was glad she did. The vegetarian tacos were not terribly generous for the price. My huevos rancheros came in a neatly stacked pile. My wife thought to ask if they had a hot sauce and they do! So we requested their hottest version. It was a welcome addition to the meal (gratis). A little vinegary, but plenty of heat. The mocktail was quite good. Like Spindrift and some other sparkling waters, it is not sweetened, but it had a good amount of strained blood orange juice, and you could taste the fresh jalapeño. I wonder if they have tried adding mint to this as I think it would be welcome. Maybe next time I will ask if they can experiment with me by adding some mint.

Once we were served we were never checked up on until the end when we had to flag them down to get the check. I don't think we'll be coming back.

I ended up choosing chilaquiles with a bandera sauce and carne asada as the added protein. The rest of the table got all different types of dishes from carne en su jugo to birria to omelettes. While we enjoyed each other's company sipping on our cafecito I enjoyed the ambiance of the space. Nicely decorated for the holidays. Since it was opening time it wasn't as loud as I imagine it can get in there. The sun did shine on the faces of those facing the windows which was not enjoyable for them. There was no way to cover the sun either since it was coming in from the top windows with no shade. My food came out along with the rest of the plates and we went right in to enjoy them. My favorite chilaquiles was covered in the white sauce. The red and green were good but the white sauce was my favorite. The carne was cooked well but I could taste it wasn't marinated or lacked flavor. I didn't get a knife to cut the meat so it was very difficult to enjoy a piece with my chilaquiles. It was hard to cut with a butter knife. I thought it would be a piece of steak but it was a piece of carne asada. Eggs were scrambled and cooked well. The whole plate was filling, had flavor, and was a good portion. The cafe de olla had a good flavor but a tad sweet for my preference. The space in here is a vibe. A fun place to enjoy large gatherings. I came for breakfast but will update when I come back to visit for dinner. Bathrooms are clean. Staff was welcoming and efficient in taking care of our group. Hospitality was a 10/10. Parking in the am was a breeze but at prime time I can see it being a complete nightmare so plan accordingly. I enjoyed my visit and will come back to check out the dinner menu.

As we cruised by looking for parking, it was clear we had picked a lively spot--buzzing energy everywhere: inside, outside, and even upstairs. We were quickly seated indoors, though on such a beautiful day we assumed we'd be offered outdoor seating. No big deal--we asked, and they happily moved us to a shaded table with plenty of space. Much better. Drinks were first on the agenda: margaritas and a michelada, all refreshing and exactly what we were hoping for. Our server, Michelle, was friendly, attentive, and even shared some helpful tips about perks with our American Express Platinum Card--a nice, unexpected touch. We kicked things off with queso fundido, though a brief mix-up brought us chips and guacamole from another table first. Once we pointed it out, it was quickly handled--but honestly, it looked so good we ended up ordering it anyway. No regrets there--it definitely hit the spot. We hadn't planned on a full dinner, so we went with lighter bites. The tuna tostadas and halibut ceviche were a hit--fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. I went with the tortilla soup, which was good and nicely presented... but didn't quite wow me. I've been on a bit of a tortilla soup tour lately, and this one leaned a little heavy on the tortillas (soaking up too much broth) and had more zucchini than I expected. That said, major points for serving it piping hot--something a lot of places miss--and the avocado was a great addition. One thing worth noting: I didn't catch it until later, but there's a 4% living wage surcharge added to the bill--and it's taxed. That caught me off guard, and I'm still not entirely sure how that works in California. Overall, a fun, energetic spot with great drinks, tasty bites, and solid service. Not perfect, but definitely good enough to come back for another round.

Why have I just tried this Mexican restaurant?! I've always seen their food truck a few years back…read morebefore they began to gain enough finances for brick and mortar store fronts! Yay for mom and pop eats :) Well, I was introduced to this place by my best friend, but I never carried cash to go, so I never tried it until another friend of mine mentioned the Blossom Hill location and them accepting credit card payment! (Yay, but let's not get carried away). I came on a Tuesday evening with friends and saw the place packed! Thats always a good sign~ We each ordered an individual dish to eat and chat. I was intrigued by the burrito bowl and worried it may be small. Jokes on me, it was way more than enough! Don't let the size of the bowl trick you into thinking it's not enough. The avocado was nice and perfectly ripe, the crema sauce drizzle was not overwhelmingly added onto the ball, and the salsa had a nice acid and tomatoey compliment to the beans, meat, shredded lettuce, rice, and cheese! I think this place is pretty solid for the price point and quality. They also have a free for all sauce bar too which is nice! Everything is so spicy, except for the green salsa lol. Servers seemed okay. They didn't really check on us, but it feels like a service yourself kind of place. You grab your own waters, condiments, and sauce here. If you want their chunky mango salsa, you have to flag a server down! However, 1 star is knocked off for the credit card charge, which I'm not even sure what the percentage is. I didn't see a sign at the register or perhaps I didn't look hard enough. I think this should be mentioned on the door and possibly their menu (if it isn't already). Can someone confirm if the credit card charge is 3%? Even my receipt wasn't clearly mentioning the percentage--just the fact that there's a credit card processing fee.

Went here for lunch. Very open and spacious. Workers are attentive and quick…read more Place has a restroom and a full bar. Menu is fully loaded. There is a QR code (see photo) Cali-taco: it's a good size, fries are crispy. We recommend this one. Would get it again. Quesabirria: 2.5/5 - it was just ok. Wasn't as flavorful as I've had before Super burrito: 3.9/5 - it's a hefty size. Very filling. I had to eat half otherwise I'd go into full nap mode after. I'd recommend it for any burrito lover and someone who can eat a lot.
