I tried to swap all the light switches to smart switches myself and oh boy was I doing things wrong, I did something wonky and made the top floor power dead. I panicked because family members (elders) will have trouble, and it was getting dark out. I messaged a lot of companies and hoped for the best. From all the companies I contacted, Electric All responded within 10 mins to my message (Via Yelp). (Note: others responded between 1 hour to 3 hours, they all had a good response time, but in the eyes of a panicking homeowner, vigilance matters; some even indicated that they can come next week) I got in touch with Sammy, and even though he was done for the day, (It was on a weekend), he came all the way to me from home. -- Let me say this as a Side note; THAT itself shows dedication. I was glad and feeling better that someone is interested at looking at the mess that I got myself into! Once Sammy got here, he got right into it, he taught me what I was doing was on the right track and gave me insights on how I could have done it. Seriously, this guy is not only pleasant and a family man, but he is teaching me as well? Yes please! I love to learn! Why don't we have more like him in this world? Amazing ability of workmanship and explanation. The way he talks about his profession and what he is doing, giving me ideas on what to expect along the way and how my home wiring actually works compared to other types. I was amazed. He showed great passion on what he does, and he does it well. This guy is a Jedi Master Electrician. 5/5 Stars because Yelp doesn't allow me to give anything higher. (Like 100 out of 5 would show my experience rating) Not only am I impressed but his pricing was reasonable for the work he did. Some quoted me less some quoted me more. I am happy with the price he provided me. He also told me the price before he even got here, there we no surprises. Also, my final bill was higher than what he originally quoted, because I asked him to take care of the rest of the switches (There was like 12 total), I at this point just wanted someone like him to do it right the first time. So that's totally on me for giving him extra work, and even then he charged me less than what it came up to. You give me a high class experience, I asked you to do more work even though you should be home with family and you still give me a break on the price? Love you man! In the end of his visit, he gave me pointers on my next project (Nest Thermostat) and how to do it myself. His focus was for me to get things done, not to take my money. I love his attitude and I love his humble appreciation of the work he does. He said I can ask him to come by but I should try it first and learn from it. This review might be too long, but he genuinely is just awesome (as a person and professionally) and words alone can't express enough of it.

Sammy came over tonight (Sunday evening) and not only found the cut wires... but also showed me how the outdoor power was corroded and not working due to water condensation. Sammy replaced the outdoor boxes, taught me how to protect my home and check my boxes monthly, and fixed everything!! Thank you for coming Sammy!! I know it's a weekend and time away from your family. You saved the day and protected me from future problems! We hired Elmar Electric for electrical needs in our home…read more My initial call to Elmar was to address an electrical issue in our fuse panel. That issue was addressed the same day I called, and the site visit charge was credited against the work to swop out the fuse panel for the breaker panel. The scheduled follow up visit included converting our fuse panel to Breakers, installing a door bell, GFI outlet and outdoor switch. All the work was completed for the estimated price, and on the date scheduled. Elmar looked after all the prework ie. scheduling the power shutdown and inspection. We were very pleased with the work that was completed, at the price that was quoted. I would not hesitate to call them again, or recommending them to my friends. f.

TL;DR: Do not work with Stecho Electric…read more Where to begin. I have an EV coming and I need a home charging station installed. I called them to get a quote on installing a 240V line for the new EV charging station. They scheduled for a day I had already taken off work which was great! I did have to rearrange my day to fit the visit in (a 4 hour window from 8am to noon). At 11:45am of the day, I called them to determine where they were. I was told "Oh, your guy is off today. Can you reschedule?" I was obviously miffed that they couldn't INFORM me but sure, let's keep going. Rescheduled. I get a call from them a few days later (NOT the newly scheduled date) as they have me scheduled in for the visit. I politely INFORM them that no, you scheduled me for this other day. They agree and hang up. They arrive on the appropriately scheduled day and take their pictures and everything needed. They ask which charger I am using. I say "I don't have one yet, what would you suggest? I am not getting a Tesla." I am told they would get back to me with the quote and INFORM me of the options. A week has passed with no quote or information. I call late morning to get an update but get shunted to voice-mail. I leave a message to get back to me with information. They do not call back. I call again 24 hours later to which they let me know that "We are not quoting on that since you are not getting an electric car." I have to clearly lay out that, yes, I am getting an EV and it is coming in a month or two. They profusely apologize and say they will INFORM me of the quote. I call 3 days later. I am told they are still working on the quote. It has been a week now and they have yet to INFORM me of anything. To be clear, "We do not wish to quote on this," is a completely valid answer. However, it is generally a good idea to INFORM your bloody customers of this choice. Don't ever call Stecho. They don't deserve your business.
