Small porch railing project with glass inserts. Major problem that remains unaddressed (see below)…read more I do NOT recommend this company. They do not stand behind their work. TDLR; railing installed was not designed for glass insert on sections with steps according to the manufacturer (I was not told at the time, I found out after when I contacted the manufacturer). Glass inserts slid down after a couple months. They attempted to address it (in a way the manufacturer later said wouldn't actually fix the problem), which only worked short term. When it re-occurred, I contacted them slightly after 1 year from install date. They refuse to fix under warranty, despite it obviously was not correctly fixed the first time (or it would not have re-occurred). Details below. Details: A few months after install the glass inserts on the decline sections (steps) slid down against the metal post. There was some communication frustration with the owner of Space Fencing, but eventually came out and replaced the gaskets and re-centered the glass panels. Less than a year after the sliding glass panels were "fixed", they slid down again. Due to other things going on, I didn't contact him about it for a few months which put it a month or two past a year of the original install, BUT less than a year since the first "fix". Since the panels aren't supposed to move, clearly the original problem remains. Prior to calling them, I contacted the manufacturer and they said that they don't recommend using glass for this railing on an angle for this exact issue. The Space Fencing owner insisted this was news to him, and that they had fixed the issue the first time. He stated they rarely have to fix panels and never multiple times, so it must be something specific to me, such as someone "pushing" on the glass. We have a camera, no such thing has happened. Despite relaying what the manufacturer stated, and that the first "fix" didn't (and wouldn't) work long term, he is adamant that it is not under warranty as it is a couple months past a year. He said they fixed it the first time. Obviously they didn't, or the panels wouldn't have moved. In further emails with the manufacturer, they repeatedly stated that this specific rail was NOT meant to hold glass on an angle, and replacing the gasket (as done previously) would not fix the problem. They suggested some sort of rubber stopper in the track to keep the pieces from sliding. I provided this correspondance to Space Fencing, he dismissed it and said that the install was correct, and the issue was fixed and is now past warranty. I am VERY unimpressed with this situation. I get that sometimes issues happen with installs, and I don't mind it provided the company is reasonable (ie LISTENS to the concern instead of ARGUING over the phone to AVOID warranty work). The first warranty visit obviously didn't fix the issue, or it wouldn't have slid down a second time. This was confirmed by the manufacturer.
