When looking for a photographer for our wedding, my criteria were that the photographer takes…read morebeautiful shots and that they are reliable. After looking through Brian's impressive portfolio and sitting down with him to talk, we decided to hire him for our wedding and engagement shoot. Brian completely exceeded my expectations in every way possible. Brian is not only very reliable, but he is also extremely dedicated to his work. Brian drove over 90 miles to get to our engagement photo shoot and on the way he stopped at a gas station on the south side of Chicago where he stepped on two nails, which punctured his foot. Although we insisted that we reschedule so he could take care of himself, he still arrived (early, as his style) ready to shoot our session. He carried his equipment on his back on his injured foot for miles around Chicago, and took some of the most breathtaking photos I have ever seen. Brian helped us to feel completely comfortable the entire time. I remember being impressed with how he can walk backwards, get to know us better by carrying on a conversation, assess the lighting of the area around him, all while shooting pictures that made our families cry and that we will treasure forever. We are happier than ever that we chose Brian and his assistant Greg to shoot our wedding on July 13, 2013. On the day of my wedding, I didn't have time to notice all of the details that I previously spent so much time planning. Brian perfectly captured all of these details in his photographs. There were many shots that I would have never thought to ask him to take, but because of his professionalism and experience he provided these pictures for us. Most importantly, Brian captured the moments that happen so quickly.. but that I will remember forever. Because of his talent, I have photos of my mom trying not to cry as I step into my dress, my grandmother giggling with the woman who was doing her make up, my groom's first teary look at me, and so much more. You are a lucky couple if you get to book Brian for your wedding!

We had our photo session- and the pictures are not cheesy- they are actually very tasteful. We also had a lot of excellent portrait pictures done of the three of us, and other family members. She is very professional (she's been doing this 3 years!), extremely talented, and took away all my anxiety of getting these pictures done. I still have my man card. I am definitely going to be using her in the future to document my baby growing up. Look no further when looking for newborn/baby/child photography. I would have had my wife do her maternity pictures there too had I discovered her before!

She is one stop shopping for the above (and also for pictures of our baby as he gets older!). We just had our photo session and we could not be happier with the results. She has an amazing gift on working with newborns (who can sometimes be cooperative, cranky, moody etc) and older kids. She is extremely patient. She has a great variety of props- various materials to get pictures that will be memorable for years to come. She is extremely creative, and works well with you to create unique shots. Just check out her website to see her portfolio and you will be amazed! She is extremely reasonably priced (you are paying for her photo skills/editing of pictures)- and what's nice is that she gives you a CD with all the pictures on it- so you can print them whenever and wherever and however you want. She doesn't offer printing at this time. There are so many places online or locally- it's cheaper to print them on your own (I found that a lot of photographers come with a high price tag because you have to also buy THEIR prints and do not get to keep a digital copy of pictures without paying a hefty price). You also get full printing rights of your pictures (which is how it should be!) She is a Rockford native (support local!) I am definitely going to use her in the future to document this exciting journey (and if there are any more to come!) ;) http://www.ohsnapbyamy.com/

After someone posted the link to Carey Primeau's site for Neglected Beauty on yelp, I was…read moredetermined to buy some pictures of these beautifully photographed old buildings. Being from Detroit, I was drawn to the photos of the old Michigan Central Station. The building represents Detroit to me - this amazing building sits there wasted, empty, dirty and decrepit, a shell of it's former self. (Random fact, the old building Shia runs through at the end of Transformers - yep, this is it). So I saved up some money and contacted Carey about the photos. We settled on The Bath House, and a new one taken in Belguim. Once we decided on the photos, Carey was quick with sending an invoice to receive payment via PayPal. A few days later our photos were delivered and we are very happy with them. The two photos were $300 total and very worth it. They are digital prints, printed on quality paper. The color is vibrant and they are every bit as beautiful in person as they are online.
