    Bagel breakfast

I just had a really good breakfast here at Einstein bagels . The jalapeño bagel with egg and turkey sausage was so good! The service was very friendly and attentive to me and my parents. I highly recommend this restaurant to get breakfast at . This restaurant is going to be one of my top destinations to visit if I ever get back to San Diego. I give them 5 stars !

Meh. Very standard chain bagel spot. This location is often backed up with online orders and you will typically need to wait awhile for your order. I arranged a pickup order today for 8am and still had to wait 20 minutes upon arriving. Granted it was a larger order & probably more of an issue with the online ordering system than the staff. But still, slightly annoying to wait that long. This has happened to me before at this location too. Bagels are OK. Nothing special but better than a grocery store bagel. I prefer their regular bagels with cream cheese versus the egg sandwiches since I don't love the pre-made/pre-heated egg patties that their egg sandwiches are made with. Recommend trying the Cheddar Jalapeño bagel with strawberry schmear for a fun flavor combo. Parking is also weirdly difficult in the tight lot out front.

Located in a small strip mall next to a Chase bank, this location had a small parking lot that can be difficult depending on the time of day, which is the reason this is a 4-star review. The store is clean and the staff are very friendly. The indoor seating seems to not be a thing since the pandemic, but this has been a grab and go spot for me anyways. I haven't been to Einstein's in a long time but cashed in on my birthday gift (free egg sandwich with purchase) and was reminded how much I love their bagels. Latte was also good!

    The turkey and ""cheddar""

This is pathetic. And not what I asked for. You'll wait forever for your order and they still won't get it right. If you get a drink, they won't make it. You'll have to remind them and THEN they'll start on it while you continue to wait and your food gets cold. They definetly don't hire Einsteins here.

Where is the cream cheese? It's definitely not here, that's for sure. I ordered toasted and it came out cold as well

    This is not a sandwhich.

Ordered a breakfast sandwhich. Got home and it was a cold stack of sausage in the paper, felt like I was being pranked. Went back to the store to ask them to remake it and it appeared that they put the wrapped sausage into the microwave and then into the food warmer for making sandwiches for guests!!!!

Umm let me just say that this is one of the instances where ordering ahead is the way to go. I had a little over an hour before work, so I thought I'd try something new. Jonesing for coffee, I thought Einstein's could do, since they had food as well, I would try something for lunch. I HATE the little, cramped, and crowded parking lot. Was lucky to pull in as someone was leaving. Next time, I'll walk. I go in, and there was a line of 4-5 groups in front of me. Just my luck two of the groups ahead could not get their sh!!t together and decide! Just pick something! anything! please....after what seemed like 20 minutes (was more like 10-15, but still) they finally order and it's my turn. I get the Tasty Turkey on a Spinach Florentine bagel, and a Vanilla Cream Cold Brew, 1/2 sweet. As I step aside to wait for my order, I notice the line had grown behind me, they got slammed for lunch rush hour; but I gotta say that all the 3-4 front associates this day kept their cool, were helpful and patient with all the questions, and churned out the orders mighty quickly. I was impressed. Perturbed by the wait, and the dwindling time before work, I swore never to enter this establishment without ordering ahead on their lovely easy to use app. After all of that, I was able to get to work and have 15 minutes to sit and enjoy my meal. Whew! As for the taste and quality- Nice soft bagel, toasted on the outside, generous meat and fixins piled high- I only ate half of the bagel sammy, and the coffee was made exactly as I ordered. Parking: 2 stars Staff/service : 5 stars Wait : 3 stars Food & coffee : 4 stars Indecisive customers taking waaay too long: 0 stars

One of the best breakfast sandwhiches i have ever had. The bagels are the perfect size. Not too big, not too small. You can add extra ingredients (eggs, bacon, cheese). Order is fast and coffee is good as well. Would definately be coming here soon.

Look, I have no idea why ppl are hard on this bagel shop. It's like people show up expecting a sit down breakfast and are surprised when they get a bagel. The reality is this - the bagels are fresh in the morning, the people who work here are always friendly, and the coffee is aromatic n wakes you up. I like the Turkey sausage because it isn't greasy and tastes great. I'm going to hit a solid 4 stars because I'm a realist, when I want bagels I can count on Einstein.

This location does not have in dining available so we ordered something quick to go. Ordered the pizza bagel (pepperoni). Quick service and it's good!! Nice and friendly staff.

The bartenders in front of us were clearly having a conversation and I didn't want to interrupt. My friend claimed her Irish coffee was sour? And didn't realize cheese came on a side of eggs (she should've checked when she ordered but the server never clarified either). We weren't checked on during the meal until the bill came and by then we just wanted to leave. I ordered the fluffy pancakes and found an egg shell inside. The cracking of eggshells in my mouth made me loose my appetite. We paid (still tipped of course) and left. It was great the first time and mediocre the second time. I prefer consistently in service, especially if I'm waiting an hour to be seated.

We had spent most of the day around Bankers Hill and decided to grab an early dinner at Books & Records. Getting reservations was easy, but from the moment we walked in, the ambiance alone already had us sold. The place was still pretty quiet when we arrived, and to our surprise it was happy hour, so naturally we ordered a bunch of items off the menu along with drinks. Everything was ridiculously good. Not one miss. What really stood out though was the attention to detail. The host brought us a complimentary glass of champagne after hearing we were celebrating our anniversary. Small gesture, big impact. Stuff like that matters. As the night went on, the restaurant filled up, live music started playing, and the whole atmosphere just came alive. Our waiter never rushed us once, which made the experience feel even more intentional and relaxed. We were able to actually enjoy the moment instead of feeling pushed through dinner service. Good food is one thing. Great hospitality is another. This place gave us both. Next time we're in San Diego, we're absolutely making it a point to come back. Lovely spot. Lovely experience.

Cramped and loud, but nicely decorated and serving solid authentic meals. Mexican Latte-9/10: Pretty straightforward. A solid, nostalgic spiced coffee. Mazapan Latte-10/10: A novelty menu item, both nostalgic and tasty. With a sweetened condensed milk rim and mazapan dust, this sweet coffee is a must order. Chilaquiles-10/10: Cocina 35 knows how to throw down the best Mexican breakfast item: the chilaquiles. The Verde was good but didn't pack much heat. The Salsa Secreta was our favorite; a creamy 3-chile salsa with an artichoke flavor, this one packs an enjoyable amount of heat. The Chipotle was another yummy and creamy option, making your nose run but still very enjoyable. Frijoles Puercos-7/10: They were pretty standard. I've definitely had better. They served their purpose as a good side. Concha Rellena-7.5/10: Another creative menu item. Whipped cream and whole strawberries sandwiched between two french toast-style concha halves and drenched in cajeta. It was sweet and warm, but would've been more enjoyable with fresher and/or sliced strawberries. Fun to order, but a regular concha is better suited for enjoying with your coffee. Service-6/10: Again, Cocina 35 gets packed, so service isn't as attentive. Our party had to order and wait for water, ask for refills, call the server over for more orders and again for the bill, and wouldn't speak to us in Spanish. I witnessed other tables be spoken to in Spanish, but upon ordering I'd only be responded to in English. I know I'm a white Mexican, but native tongue is nice when I make it clear I'd like to order in Spanish. Overall, a fun spot with solid menu items. The samplers are pricey but probably the best bang for your buck. They do the classics very well, and are very much worth your visit!
