While I haven't eaten at this location I did get delivery from them this morning and was happy with my order. The order was correct and the food was packaged neatly and with care. They have a nice selection of bagels and spreads, along with both breakfast and lunch sandwiches. They also have sweets such as blueberry muffins, cinnamon rolls, and pastries. They also have a selection of teas, coffees, and juices. This morning I went with the Garden Avocado Egg Sandwich which is an everything bagel with egg, avocado, tomato, spinach, and roasted tomato spread. It comes with the option of being made with egg whites. An option I appreciate having. The bagel was warm and chewy, the toppings were generous and flavorful. It was very enjoyable. The price was reasonable too. I recommend it. read more

I decided to stop in for a Asiago bagel with the smoked salmon smear today because I was in Hinsdale for an appointment and don't have a Einstein's near where I live. As soon as I walked in I was kind of taken aback by how dingy and dark it was inside, but there were people in line ordering so it just be a normal thing for this location. When I got to the counter I asked for my Asiago bagel with the salmon spread (it's listed on the main menu board) but the woman behind the counter, as she was already cutting into the Asiago bagel informed me that they don't have that spread at this location and I need to choose one form a little stand up menu that was sitting on the glass case. If I knew this I would've gotten a completely different bagel with the honey almond smear, but I felt too nervous to switch since she already cut the bagel so I just opted for onion & chive. I had to wait a few minutes for the other people in front of me to pay, but I overheard a woman behind me who came in to order a dozen everything bagels, but ended up saying never mind and leaving because they ran out. I'm only making note of this because all of the employees working weren't the happiest people. I paid for my bagel and ate it in my car because their dining area is still closed, and honestly, I wouldn't eat in there anyway it's not a welcoming environment and like I said before it's pretty dingy. The bagel was ok, I wouldn't consider it "toasted" even though I asked for it to be but the smear was good. Overall a very weird experience and I will not be back to this location. read more

Went there Sunday 5/19. The bagel is what you'd expect, better than grocery store but still a chain store bagel. The issue here is the service. I've been here before when young kids are working it. Hustle, appreciation, politeness, back bone of America of kids raised right! They all knew their job. Today there was an older lady who appeared to be in charge. This lady was in everyone's business and didn't just let the kids do their job. Order taker, excellent. Order filler kid, excellent. But I got Ms Busy Body giving orders and filling my order. I ordered a bagel and a cheese hash brown. Walk out the door, go to my conference, open bag, and I have my sesame bagel with cream cheese and some other cheese bagel that smelled horrific. Maybe if she wasn't too busy getting in everyone's business and telling them how'd she do everything, she could have filled my order correctly. These kids were all working their butts off and she was messing up being the boss! I'll go back but now I know to check my order when I see the micro monster manager! This location has undergone multiple management changes in the past years, and unfortunately, it's still struggling to improve. Whenever I visit this place, there's always something wrong. Multiple times I've come here and they don't have the specialty bagel that goes with their premium egg sandwiches. On Saturdays, if you come after 8 am, they're usually out of half of their bagel selection. With my most recent trip today, I went there to use a birthday offer for a free egg sandwich with purchase. When I asked the employee if I could use the coupon for any egg sandwich, he responded, 'I don't know, you'll need to ask the manager,' and proceeded to point to her by the register. I found this to be poor customer service as it required me to walk over to the manager to ask a simple question about the company's promotions. The young cashier should have told me, "I'm not sure, let me go ask my manager" and found out himself instead of making your customer go back and forth. Unfortunately, this location's inconsistency also extends to the order accuracy and cleanliness of the store. During my most recent visit, I ordered the Chorizo Sunrise egg sandwich, but it wasn't prepared correctly. There was no avocado spread, making the sandwich hotter than normal, which was disappointing, as the bagel wasn't enjoyable anymore. Additionally, my four to-go egg sandwiches were not even wrapped in foil, so by the time I drove home, they were cold. Overall, this poorly managed location doesn't live up to expectations. While the bagels are tasty, the poor customer service, order accuracy, and cleanliness of the store make it hard for me to recommend this location to others. If you have time, it's best to eat somewhere else. read more

Let's start with the fact that there's no place to park street parking only and it seems like all the 15 minute parking spaces are always used up for longer than 15 minutes! Then once you walk through the doors, you're greeted by some surly employees. I tried calling four or five times in a row this morning to ask if they had a particular flavor of bagel no one would answer the phone so when I got there, the place was completely empty and I just let them know that I tried calling several times and no one answered the phone and they said "yeah we've been too busy" again not a soul in the place! Unfortunately, Einstein's bagels is not as popular popular as it used to be so a lot of stores have closed in the western suburbs. It's either Hinsdale or Naperville Naperville is worse as far as parking. read more

Agree with other commenters about the service - this location is managed very poorly. We come here all the time because there are few options. I don't think we've ever had our order done completely right. Also tried ordering online a few times and always a disaster. Last I time around the girl there said that 'sometimes their tablet works and sometimes it doesn't''. If any competitor comes in, this location will be toast. Avoid if you can. Had a very poor experience while picking up a togo order this morning. When I walked in I tried to see where the Togo order pick up area was but it was very difficult to find, the orders were on a table where chairs were also stacked upon. Besides from that, my order wasn't over there so I patiently waited. After standing there a few minutes the workers asked me if my order was over there and I said no. Told them my name, then my order, this entire time my bag had been sitting at the register out of my reach and not labeled. After being treated so poorly, the employee said nothing and handed me my bag with a mean stare. I recently joined their online coupons so I had a 20% off for our entire bill. So my coworker and I went and gotten a chicken artichoke with asiago cheese spread and spinach bagel and it was delicious. She got the chicken salad bagel and she said it was good. It comes with chips and it was filling for lunch. With the coupon it comes out to $13 so it was decent. Probably expense without coupon for lunch. Service is always slow and just so so because they're always short handed. They have no more than 2 ppl working at all times. Mostly just 1 person. Luckily I have an hour lunch so it's enough. The employees were rude and standoffish. Not willing to jump and help. I asked for cream and sugar in a hot beverage and the one lady glared at me and said I do that myself and pointed to the self serve coffee station. This was about 8am and the station was filthy, and nothing was refilled. No coffee, no creamer, and all around gross. They also did not have the specific bagel the sandwich I ordered came with. They were not really helpful with helping me choose another flavor...they just pointed to the wall when I asked what other flavor I could order. Do you like lukewarm coffee? I don't. I like mine hot, hot, hot! Unfortunately, I grabbed my morning cup right as it was about to expire, methinks. I hadn't been to an Einstein Brothers in some time, and they've apparently jumped on the healthy wagon. I mean, these days, it's somewhat more difficult to get people into your stole with the word bagel (Oh no, carbs!) in your name. So they now offer 'bagel thin' sandwiches (it's a bagel revolution!) in addition to breakfast wraps, etc. made with egg whites and turkey sausage. I wanted to try one of these healthier creations, but the line full of giggling high school girls made me hit the ignore button on my hunger pangs as I didn't want to be late for my meeting across the way. I've eaten here for both breakfast and lunch and I've enjoyed each. Starting with the restaurant itself, it is located right on downtown Hinsdale, a very nice spot. The restaurant itself isn't huge, but there are a dozen or so tables for those who'd like to sit and eat. The offer all types of, you guessed it, bagels. Every bagel I've had has been delicious. They also offer breakfast and lunch sandwiches on the bagels. These are all incredibly tasty and a bit on the gourmet side. Definitely not some cheap, poorly put together sandwich. With each sandwich, you get a pickle and the choice of one side (chips, coleslaw, potatoes salad). They also have some other sides that cost a bit extra. The price is a little higher than average, but still not really expensive. For a sandwich and drink expect to spend $9-10. I like to stop here for a quick bite to eat before getting on the train which is about one block away. I'd recommend it for just that or for a quick breakfast or lunch. read more

The workers don't know what they are doing, there are flies on the pastries, they have enough staff but most of them hideout in the basement and then the remaining staff member flicks off and on the basement lights to summon them. Went in on a Saturday morning (around 10:30). There was no line when I came in and all I wanted was a plain bagel, no cream cheese not toasted or anything so I figured I'd be in and out super fast. The staff obviously had other ideas. I literally stood at their counter for 5 whole minutes until someone even acknowledged my presence...I should have left I know it. All I got was "We'll be with you soon." All of the workers proceeded to continue making whatever sandwich/bagel concoction they were making (3 workers for one sandwich, really?). It took 10 minutes before my order was even taken! Then it took another 5 minutes before one of the high schoolers, who kept flirting with each other instead of actually working, could find the time to grab my one plain bagel and put it into a bag. A typical experience consists of waiting in line, usually in back of someone ordering two dozen individually-selected bagels for her office. When you are served, the person behind the counter looks at you as though he is doing you a favor in acknowledging your presence. When I finally got my bagel that I requested extra extra extra cream cheese, it barely had a sliver on it. So I asked for a side of cream cheese and of course I got dirty looks from both of them. I like Einstein alot! I've never had a problem with slow and/or rude service; however I've never been here at a peak time. Their bagels are delish - and I love me some thick, chewy, carb-filled bagels. I suppose if I lived up on the North Shore, I'd be spending all of my free time at Kaufman's, but I personally think Einstein does very well. Their lox and bagel is fantastic, too.
