It is packed with all sorts of different items and for me is more reminiscent of what I'm used to in a grocery store (from the USA). Some of the other lower cost grocery stores have rotating items so you might not find some things in stock but you will probably find most everything you are looking for here. Do make sure to weight and print out a UPC code for your fruits and vegetables before going to the cash register (which I actually have not done at any other grocery store in Heidelberg yet).

I was even surprised that there was a sushi section with fresh sushi and Asian items. Everything was placed and easily found. German efficiency at it's best. The staff were helpful despite the language barrier. The only thing is that Germans are used to bank cards over credit cards so be wary of that. The store itself was clean and well maintained. You do have to pack all your items yourself and they are used to the patrons being quick so keep that in mind.

There isn't often a wide selection, but you shouldn't have a problem finding in-season staples. I find the rest of the store layout to not quite flow in a way that makes complete sense to me, so I'm often struggling to find things even tho I've been more than a few times. With that said, they have these amazing ginger shots that I have yet to find anywhere else so I always buy them up when I see them. They also have a nice wine and beer selection. If you're American and saving receipts for VAT, they don't have a very clearly defined process here. We did it for a month but it was so confusing and such a headache that we've decided to just use edeka for our one of needs and go to different stores to save our VAT receipts. Will I return? Absolutely. But it's still not my favorite.
