Not even weekly. The rolls are okay, but in my opinion it's not the manifestation of rolls worldwide there. Standing in line can be fun, I don't have to tell you. But standing in line over the street for rolls ? Only if you need buying rolls as your first event on a sunny sunday morning. So, dear English-Qype-Community, toast is all right and breakfast without rolls is all right too, even in Germany. But if you are homesick and you want to stand in queue you are welcome!

Coffee was just okay, though, but service was rather exceptionally cheery. Never got an apartment in the area, but if I would have, I'd hop in here from time to time.
Lecker!

Because I'm a millennial, I went for the avocado toast of course. That was delicious, as well as the cappuccino. They had a great selection of pastries. It was very cozy inside and the decor was light for a damp, gray Hamburg morning outside. It's in a quiet part of town, which allowed us to arrive and queue prior to opening.

But I know it's fairly close (within the same block), and I could see the SAP building, the Ferris Wheel, and Unilever building from the window in this Hafen City location. This being our first ever meal in Germany, it was absolutely fantastic and still one of my top 3. We were exploring the city on Ascension/Man's Day, so the streets were quiet at 10am, but we were pleasantly surprised to find this shop open considering many other places weren't on such a holiday. And this was my introduction to German bread. So delicious and fresh, if only the roof of my mouth could handle the crust. I'll admit my mouth was cut up quite a bit from all the bread I ate over the next 2 weeks, but it was still so good. Now I see why my German friends complain about bread in the US. I went with a klein cup of kaffee (black), and a breakfast brotchen that included smoked salmon and sliced hard-boiled egg. Whatever spices and herbs they put on it was amazing and not at all overpowering. All this for less than 5Euro. Definitely on the cheap!
