the bus attendants go through luggage in the undercarriage which is the only part of the bus without cameras. The bus attendant from my trip on 20/2/26 from Harem Istanbul to Izmit 10pm-11:15pm. went thru my luggage and stole my MacBook Pro laptop during the bus. This was the first and last time I will ever put an electronic in checked baggage. I was so tired and was dealing with muscle cramping I didn't want to carry anything other than my phone, wallet, and camera. I thought one hour and only two stops would be safe! Security footage from the Harem Otogari station confirmed it was still in the bag before it was loaded and it was not in the bag upon arrival. The only person who had access to the bags for long enough to see what was in them was the bus attendant. The person who stole it is currently trying to get me to send them the passwords so they can bypass the Lost Mode lock! They refuse to meet in person so I can confirm it's mine (it is because they sent photos of it and I can see marks and the partial email preview for login and they are all mine). Unbelievable!
